Check out Champion's Chalice, a new Rogue-Lite Auto Battler!

Hey there! Just wanted to drop in and let you know that my friends over at Kairos Games just announced Champion's Chalice, a single player Rogue-Lite Auto Battler coming to Steam later this year. It seems pretty neat and has some Mechanibot vibes so there's a good chance you might like it too! (I drew their Steam page art, it was a lot of fun :D)

They're a solo developer too, so make sure you help them out with a wishlist!

Patch 1.11 - Infinite Mode Balancing

This is a quick balancing updated intended to keep Infinite Mode runs from lasting upwards of an hour. Enemy health, damage, and speed scaling were heavily adjusted to achieve this.

The amount and size of particles was also reduced. You should see better performance in later Infinite rounds (if you can reach them!).

Additional Patch Notes:
- fixed rare sun paladin crash when trying to heal a robot
- scattershot left and right shots angled a bit
- robot projectiles now scale down a bit when many projectiles are on screen

Patch 1.101

- can now access mods menu when store is open
- increased time between rounds in infinite mode
- fixed purchasing a hack mod from the store sometimes causing a crash

The Infinite Update

Introducing Mechanibot's first major free update: INFINITE. Infinite introduces the highly requested endless mode and an entirely new class of robots called the mechanics! It also includes tons of balancing updates, fixes, and features. Check out the full patch notes below.

Infinite Mode

The new Infinite Mode allows you to build your team beyond its normal limits and survive as long as you are able. The longer you stay alive, the larger your team can get and the more item effects you can stack. It also plays a lot faster. There are no pauses between rounds in Infinite Mode, enemy waves continue to spawn until they finally overtake you.

It's important to note that you cannot unlock new solar levels through Infinite Mode, and you will also not be able to progress through the main story and fully defy your fate.

Infinite mode is unlocked by defeating the final boss one (1) time.

We Can Fix It

This update also comes with five new robots, all members of the brand new mechanics class. The mechanic robots help you keep your team alive by healing them, shielding them, and redirecting enemy attacks. Usually while also doing a bit of damage of their own.

These little friends should help a lot with your team's suvivability and I'm excited to see what new comps people come up with!

The Laser Update - Version 1.014

Hey Mechanibots, today's update includes a highly requested feature: attack markers for lasers!

Better lasers for better lasering!

The laser attacks of the ice crystal enemies and the miniboss in Planet 2 are no longer unavoidable. They now display attack markers, giving you a chance to reposition your bots and Not Get Lasered. This brings these attacks in line with the behavior of other attacks in the game, creating a more consistent and reliable experience.

The full patch notes and details on other changes are down below. Thank you to everyone who provided the feedback for this update. As the only dev working on this project, your help is very appreciated!

And for the next update...

In other news, I am hard at work on Mechanibot's first big update! As mentioned before, the main feature will be endless mode. Unlocked after beating the game, you'll be able to build larger and stronger teams than you'd be able to otherwise. In addition, gameplay will be much faster, with no pause between rounds. It gets pretty hectic!

Introducing the mechanic robot class

We'll also be getting five new robots and an entirely new class! The mechanic robots will assist the Mechanibot with keeping the team nice and healthy. Some provide straight healing, while others are more about damage mitigation. I'm excited to see the builds people come up with these new bots.

All right, until next time, I gotta get back to work! Please share the game if you like it, and please consider writing a review! It helps me a lot. The Steam algorithm loves reviews.

Patch notes

- ice crystal and slime miniboss lasers now use attack markers
- enemy laser attacks now travel full screen and hit all in path
- ice crystal cooldown increased
- slime crystal cooldown increased
- slime miniboss cooldowns increased
- adjustments made to the health values of all enemies (mostly reductions)
- save icon now appears in the top right corner of the screen when saving occurs
- hunter robot cooldown increased a little

Patch 1.013

- mouse size now scales inversely to window size
- fixed spike miniboss creating projectiles on death causing a rare crash
- fixed volcano boss creating attacks on death causing a rare crash
- fixed Windrunner's projectiles not consistently destroying when off screen
- fixed shield boost to work more reliably against big hits
- buying team boost no longer closes the store
- team boost now has a small chance to appear earlier in Planet 2

✨ Mechanibot is Out Now! ✨

It's here!

Mechanibot is now available on Steam!

Play as a small robot charged with repairing the dying sun. Build and upgrade your team of robots to survive against the waves of enemies keeping you from your goal. After an extremely dense six months of development, I'm super excited to finally share this world of robots with you.

It's just me on the team, so if you're able to do any of the following...

  • Tell your friends
  • Leave a review

...it'd be much appreciated!

I like that the game is out, but will you continue to update it?

Great question! After the whirlwind of release dies down and I find a moment to breath again, I'll begin work on Mechanibot's first big update, the Already Highly Asked For: Endless Mode.

Yeah, but what if I want to hear more from you?

Another great question, thank you for asking. Here's my Twitter, and here's where you can sign up for the mailing list, where I'll send out any news about me and my games, advance notice of any sales or discounts, and sometimes even alpha/beta testing opportunities.

Okay, that's it! Keep your robots safe and have fun!

Mechanibot Release Date Announcement!

Mechanibot just received a release date AND a new trailer!

I'm super excited to finally announce the release date for Mechanibot:

🌟 AUGUST 31ST! 2022! 🌟

Mechanibot will be launching on Steam and if you'd like a reminder on launch day (and other updates on me and my games), join my mailing list.

Thank you all for joining me on this adventure. I can't wait to finally share this world with you.

I hope to see you on launch day!

Robot Gallery Update!

Hey Mechanibots, here we are again with another big update to the Mechanibot demo!

You Can Look at Your Robots!

By popular demand, you can now view all of your robots in the new gallery! Conveniently found in a new room added to your base, you'll be able to check every robot's abilities, costs, and see if they're even unlocked yet.

You can even put them all in a pile and take screenshots (my favorite part).

A New Exploder Robot

Cluster really likes throwing bombs. Like, REALLY, likes throwing bombs. It's obsessive. We're all okay with it though because of how many enemies we're constantly surrounded by. Cluster helps with that. Thanks, Cluster!

What Else is New?

As always, this update comes with many smaller updates, fixes, and features. Some of my favorites are:

- Certain legendary robots now unlocked by redeeming missions.
- Starting Capital upgrade now gives +2 starting gold per rank, up from +1.
- Hack Mods: stackable upgrades found as round rewards.
- More boss and NPC dialogue.
- So, so many balancing tweaks. Pretty much every number in the game is now a different number!
- Rare projectiles-forgetting-who-the-enemy-is crash fixed.

Until Next Time

It's just me working on Mechanibot and I wish I could work on it full time, but progress is going well and I'm very excited to finally share this huge demo update with you! Please feel free to use the in-game Feedback form to let me know what you think of the update and please consider wishlisting the game!

Thanks!
Jon
