The Game Developers Conference has just ended and I was lucky to be able to attend this year. Although it was online and it is not the same, it was what I needed to recharge my batteries and my passion for making games.
The development of MVK has been on hold for a few months, since to launch the game, I need to solve some important bugs that the truth after months of trying I have not been able to. Those who have been since the beginning know that I learned to program with this game so there are parts of the code that need to be rewritten from scratch by someone with much more knowledge than me.
To achieve this, my idea is to launch a very small game of commemorative NFTs for the game and use the winnings to finish MVK. Some of these NFT's may be used in the next Double Punch games, unlocking content or unique units!! Plus the soundtrack as DLC. (The soundtrack is free on Iaio Spotify).
If we succeed expect the release of MVK in Q4 this year.
In my opinion, the world of gaming and cryptocurrencies is the future. Those players can be actual owners of the content, can trade with others outside of the game ecosystem, unlock a unit in one game and use it in a different game is crazy but it is not. All proceeds will go to the fund to finish MVK.
Please tell me if this is something that you guys are interested in. I have been researching and I really believe that it is the future. I believe that players benefit from the wealth that a game and/or gaming ecosystem can generate in the future of gaming. That is why we have been talking with the people of ENJIN to integrate them into our next projects.
For example, those who get Odin's NFT will be able to unlock it and use it in our next game: Titans League! A fast PVP BattleMechs arena with tower defense. If you liked MVK, I think you will like TL.

ARMORY UPDATE
Hello commanders! Nacho aka Tenacious here, bringing you the latest news on what I've been working on: The Armory.
The Armory is a new menu where you can spend the extra gold in exchange for new weapons and single-use powers.
The idea of the armory is to make the experience more entertaining, being able to have an "Extra Punch, perhaps a Doble Punch ;D" at key moments to destroy an enemy or survive a level.
Perhaps some of the powers are too strong and will be rebalanced later.
For this reason, the Update will be 1 week from 18 in BETA until the end of the month, and then depending on the comments that appear on Steam, the necessary adjustments will be made if there are any. The first week of March the Armory Update will be in the main branch of the game.

Here you can see a preview of the powers. The armory is unlocked after beating the level: Sky World Plaza. The more levels are passed, new powers will be unlocked.
It should also be clarified that no matter how much they are unlocked, not all powers can be used at all levels.
MORE STUFF IN THE UPDATE:
Start Level > Game Over! FIX.
This happened because the health of the Mech Odin was 0 or negative, and when the screen starts, the Game Over is automatically triggered.
Games cannot now be started unless Odin has 1 HP, and will need to be repaired. There will also be indicators of how much this is necessary and if other mechs are in low health.
*New AI Voice (Pretty Cool I think).
*Improvements in some of the Cinematics.
*Geminis Mech now has 6000HP of shields.
FIXES:
*FIxes in the Mech jump mechanic and shorter jump times, still not perfect, but better.
*Camera Shake fixes.
*Mayor Fixes for the MEGA LASER, now renamed to The Particle Cannon.
*Some fixes with the Tanks and helicopters that randomly stop shooting. (50%)
*A lot of minor fixes, audio fixes, and minor improvements.
Also, I discover that the game has much better performance on Windows mode, not sure why, but I'm gonna look into it before the release.
Thank you very much for your support and patience Comandantes! It has been a difficult but beautiful road to make this game. I hope that MVK will be the kickoff for many more games from my Double Punch studio.
After the update, I will be bringing you news of the release date, in which a few new special operations and survival levels will be added.
After the release, the idea is to finish the challenges of Titans and Horde for the levels if that is what they want or more special operations and/or survivals, it depends on what you like the most.

ːsteamhappyː SOUND BUG: Some new installs have an issue with the volume of the game that drops to 0 (You can change it back to normal in the OPTIONS (Gear Icon) in the War Room Menu). This update should fix this by resetting the audio levels to normal every time players start a new game.
ːsteamhappyː Steam Achievements: Have been reworked and fixed, most of it if not all. Some will be detected automatically by the game, and others will need to be redone, like for example the Survival and mission pass Achievements.
ːsteamhappyː There is now the possibility to turn off the screen shake, some of you guys and gals ask for it, don´t know why I just love it. But there are people doing over 700 waves in survival, that means like plus 5, 6 hours so... I understand!
ːsteamhappyː Some re-scaled sprites of the Kaijus, not sure if this is going to stay, please let me know what it feels like, especially for veteran players.
Many small fixes: Now you can´t sell the mechs platforms unless you move the mech first. Still working on those platforms. Fixes in towers behaviors: Artillery now shoots the further enemy. Ray tower doesn't hurt air units. And many many small bugs.

QUICK UPDATE

A quick update with me main bug fixes.
Special Ops: Island Jump This level was completely reworked, maybe a little too hard, will see.
BUG FIXING: Bug where the helicopters of the factories after a while to stop shooting. Bug where The Odin Mech health bars were not showing until you got the shiels. Mechs Health bars.
Not a bug, but now the default of the units' health bars is to show when they are damaged. If you don't need the heath barf for the units, they can be turned off in the options menu.
I will keep working on the bug list, but since a lot of players want to face the Island Jump level I didn't want to keep you commanders waiting.

BIG UPDATE AND RELEASE DATE!

EPIC LAST UPDATE BEFORE THE RELEASE OF THE GAME!
My plan was to release Episode 2: Kaiju Wars in March, but now I'm going to be traveling to the US for Game Connection from the 12 to 25 of march. It doesn't feel right to release the game while I'm at a conference, we all know that some bugs are gonna be appearing from under the ground like a surprise Kaiju attack! I want to be 100% focus and with time to fix any issue that comes during the launch. So I decided to release the game after my trip and when I'm back home, it makes the most sense.
So, the new date of the release is April 3rd.
But, since the Open Beta of the revisited Episode One: First Contact was a success! Almost no bugs reported, and a lot of positive feedback was received on Discord. I want to update the game to this brach so everybody event the people that don't read the post can check it out!

Couji from Canada brings Maximus Z, a Long-Range Laser Mech.
Sarah from the USA, she is the pilot of Panacea, Rol: Medic.
Panacea's low damage is compensated with the ability to heal all T.R.O.S. units and weapons. It also can protect strategic mission objectives.
Panacea´s drones have different formations, can be changed when selecting Panacea. (Click on the head of the mech).
Close Formation: Priority Panacea heals itself. Open Formation: 360 from Panacea center. Forward Formation: The Drones march forward in a line. Line Formation: Drones from top to down in one line.
The complete TECH TREE.
Release Game Tech tree will be available to try out.
With small rebalance: tech order and cheaper tech.
Mech Platform has moved close to the Factory, so you can start using better tactics sooner.
It is also cleaner, and no more huge click boxes in the buttons.
NEW TECH:
Tesla Coils MK4: Anti Air capabilities.
The Factory can Swap the production between TANKS and HELICOPTERS.
NEW UNITS: Helicopters are an Anti-Air Units, can only be damaged by enemy flyers and bullets. They are much faster and do more damage than tanks. They don't stop to shoot the enemy.
Tanks now don´t shoot enemy air units, only Armagedom Tank AA Missiles.
Tanks got brand new sprites!
Quality of Life:
A new button for the selection of ammo in-game.
LONG RANGE: Very Long Range, Single Target, Big Cartridges.
ARMOR PIERCING: Goes through enemies but Low Range, Small Cartridges.
EXPLOSIVE: Area of Damage, Medium Cartridges.
Now players can use U KEY to upgrade the towers & use O to sell the tower.
Experimental Feature: When the towers are in level 3, Max Upgrade. You can press U again to replace the tower with full health for the level 3 price. This is great to save dying level 3 damageable towers, especially level 3 Walls.
Revisited Horde and Titan Challenge.
No more bugs and New Titan Sprites!
Revisited Pokyo Households.
The buildings have HP bars and 1 of them has double HP. T.R.O.S. deployed a prototype SAN-SITE to aid the evacuation. ONE sends 2 upgraded Maus Tanks.
Al missions now have a bullet blocker for the most top and most down of the levels. No more sneaky enemy bullets.
STEAM LEADERBOARDS!
Fase one of the competitive Mechs V Kaijus has started.
The Survival levels and special Time Challenge is available to show who is the boss!
After release will be more complex Time Challenges and a Speed-Run update that will add the option to have a CALL WAVE BUTTON. Time to show that APM!
Bigger Balance Changes
THUNDERBIRD TANKS (Ability 1) have been upgrades to THUNDERBIRD MECHS. Dual laser turrets output x2 times more damage than their Tank form.
Only Tanks level 3 the Armageddon Tank can shoot air with his AA missiles.
PRISM-A Towers had a 200% increase in damage and 35% more range.
Flamethrowers had a range increase of 17% and a damage increase by 40%.
Reduction to a $1500 the price of the Mech Platform.
Re-worked difficulty curve since now will have more than twice the missions!
A Bazzilions bug fixes! But still, I need to work on the Steam Achievements.
Hundreds of little changes that I don´t even remember that makes the game fairer, but still hard.

This Saturday will be available OPEN BETA, the final version of Episode 1!
Since I started working in Episode 2 like forever ago, the game got a lot of rebalancing, bug fixes, new game mechanics and polish. Also, I have been taking notes of what the players said in the steam forums and many of the changes to suggested are coming to Episode One also. All of this was shared with a great group of testers but now, its time to share it with everyone!

I really hope you guys and girls love the final form of the Episode One: First Contact, and also the new mechanics added to this part of the Game. This 3 years of development has been an extreme roller coaster, from the very top to the difficult moments, so thanks to all the fans for their support here, and discord. The game just hit 80 reviews with 90% positive which is a blast, and I'm really happy about it!

THE KAIJU WARS Preview
Hello Commanders!
We are ready to start testing the Episode 2. Some things still haven have the art 100% Finnish, and it´s not a 100% bug-free version and some balance is still need to be done...
But that where you guys and girls join in, let´s finish the game together. Episode 1 was a tough one, but now the game has more content to do a more progressive difficulty curve. Still is not children play, but the idea is to make the first levels a little easier.
I'm gonna handpick a few lucky ones to test and discuss the game after testing, so when you said to me! me! remember that after playing I'm gonna need your personal feedback on mechanics, balance and more. And probably do another run to see the changes!
Episode 2 will be nothing like the first one! This one is more exciting, with less conventional tower defense. I'm very excited to show you what is new and see if you guys like it.

Hi everyone! Great news MVK was selected to showcase the game at Tokyo Game Show 2019!! EPIC!! I can´t believe it...
Reaching this event from Latin America it surreal, at least for me! ːsteamhappyː
So, the launch of the game is going to suffer a little bit. The idea was to launch the game in September, but I'm gonna be the traveling the country that months, so probably the release of the game will be more like October.
Another thing! if there is any Japanese fan here and wanna help to translate the game to Japanese, please write to me via steam or discord! It will be great to show the game in the local language.
