THE MECHS UPDATE!

Hello Commanders!


This update will be live next Wednesday! The update brings 3 new mechs to the MVK Universe, a new more powerful weapons system for Odin, a new tower, mechanics, and more!



As the battle continues more countries join the fight for the defense of Pokio.

From England: Edgar with Mechalibur,

a specialized Anti Air mech from the Royal Air Force.
Biggest range mech (165 points), 4.500 Hit Points of Health. Can only attack air!


From Japan: Kenshi brings Aegis the Titan Hunter.

High DPS single target Mech, brings a huge shield giving it 7.500 Hit Points of Health and the strength to withstand the kaiju bullets and direct attacks.


From China: Liam with Geminis,

dual welding magnesium blades Kaiju killing machine. Geminis it's a melee Mechs trading range for insane damage. Works best off the main wall and in the battlefield. 6.500 Hit Points of Health.

Health and Armor:



All the Mechs have hitpoints now and can be damaged and destroyed by the Kaijus. Commanders should keep the mechs in the best state possible by doing repairs in the Repair Bay menu. In extreme cases, mechs can go into battle with no health, but they will be jumping back to the carrier if damage and left the battlefield. The Main wall will protect for most parts, the mechs. But they can take a reduced amount of damage there.

Repairs cost gold if you don't have any gold to make repair now can outsource some tech in exchange for gold.

If Odin is destroyed you will lose the battle!

If you continue the previous game you will probably have to repair the mechs the first time you load the game after the update.




NEW TOWER & MECHANIC:



MECHS JETPACKS:

New ability that enables the re-position of the mechs out of the main wall into special drop positions on the maps. Possible drop spots are marked with a red flare on the ground.





MECH PLATFORM TOWER:


Late game tower: creates a drop spot for the mechs. Now new trench tactics and objectives are possible. Also provides some kind of protection to the mechs, if the platform is destroyed the mech will go back to the Base Wall.

The true power of this mechanic will be exploited in Episode 2, but they will offer a new way to play Episode 1 too.





ODIN WEAPON SYSTEM



Odin just got upgraded! The new OWS uses now Gold to buy the upgrades, unifying all type of mechs upgrades with this currency.
This update adds 3 types of ammo that are unlockables at the tech tree. Once unlocked you can choose what ammo is the best for what mission. Also later in the tech tree, you can unlock the Odins Auto Loader tech, that let you swap ammo in-game pressing Tab (Key).



ODIN NEW AMMO & MORE:



Long Range:
550 Damage per bullet (High DPS) single target bullet. Has the most reach in game, and more damage per bullet, huge magazine.

Explosive Ammo:
350 Damage per bullet (Medium DPS) explodes on contact, causing medium damage in a radius. Medium reach, big magazine. Very effective if the Kaijus pile up against the walls.

Armor Piercing Ammo:
200 Damage per bullet (Low-Medium DPS), The Bullets are small and dense enough to pass through all the Kaijus, Low-Medium reach. Rapid Fire, medium size magazine. Best option to reach through the Kaijus, epic damage if they line up!

Seek Missiles:
Odin rocket pods are finally online and now shoots rockets every 10 seconds. You can choose between Anti Land and Anti Air (unlockable) missiles.

Armor and Shield:
Odin has 10.000 Hit Points of Health and up to 1.500 Shield Points. Armor reduces the damage taken up to 65% less damage.



TUTORIALS:


The game will have a mini pop-ups tutorials in the tech tree for the more complex things in the game. Like the Prism-A and the Mech Platform tower, jump ability. If you commanders feel that other tutorials are needed please make your suggestion in the discord channel (Dev Talk).




AUTOSAVE:


"Hell, it´s about time..." Now every time you go back to the War room the game will save.

New Languages:


English got a massive correction in grammar.
French and Spanish are added and very close to get them 100%.
Other Languages are in work in progress, if you want to help me translate the game to your language please join our discord and let me know. I'm always there.

BUGS


Nodes selections complete fix. Now, no matter how many Kaijus are on top of a construction node you will be able to select them with no problem. Finally!

The second biggest problem is also fixed the miss-click Sell-Upgrade. Now when selecting a tower a quick animation will make appear the upgrade and sell button, making impossible to sell a tower when selecting the nearby tower. It´s still not perfect but it's getting there.

Tanks getting stucks in walls.

Audio setup now saves from one play to the next.
Almost all sound in the Audio Manager, some sounds are missing, so if you mute the game probably one or two sound are gonna still be heard. I'm trying to catch them all!

No more slow win or game over screen.

And much much more.

BALANCE:


Rougton are faster
Dalifantes are Faster.
Blue Kaiju bullets health from 50 to 60 Hit Points.
Easy Difficulty is a little easier.
Added mech drop spot in some of the levels.

MVK Mechs Update: Sneak Peek

Hello Commanders!

The Close Beta should have started last Thursday, but to as usual we found some problems when uploading to Steam and the game data... ːsteamfacepalmː I am working on a solution and I hope to arrive on time, but I need to get ready for the trip and practice Pitching! Oh no... talk to people... hahaha!

For now, I want to leave some images without much explanation. Let the hype begin! Hahaha! Also maybe more cool ideas will appear in the forum after this.



I will do a post in detail with all the new functions of the update after the closed beta is finished and I can be sure that everything works correctly.

EPISODE 2: Kaiju Wars Sneak Peek!




Hi everyone!



Just wanted to tell you that all the levels of the new campaign are finished!! On paper! Hehehe!

The design of the levels has already started. This episode is going to be more experimental, the classic hold X waves its done, for most levels.

December Update

Hello everyone! So, news time!


First of all, we have a new partnership with Sure Fire Games to bring Mechs V Kaijus to China next year! So, yey!! Our first publishing deal! We are very happy and with high hopes for the future! With a little luck this deal will help me to get some help to finish the game by mid 2019!



Also with this, the game is going to be translated to chinese, which implies localizing all the text in the game... ːsteamfacepalmː A thing that originally was not planned and is taking now a lot of extra work. But there is good news because of this: the game will be ready to be translated into other lenguages with your help!
FRENCH and SPANISH are the next in the line thanks to my girlfriend EleonorGamer88 Big shout out there! ːsteamhappyː
But also GERMAN, RUSSIAN, JAPANESE, KOREAN, SWEDEN, PORTUGUESE and ITALIAN are in our plans, as soon as someone from thouse countries wants to help me! hehe. NEXT UPDATE:

The next and last official update untill The Kaiju Wars, and will be introducing Kenji and his mech AEGIS from Japan. Will be some experimental updates and beta testing build of the new mechanics for episode 2, in the Beta section of the game.



AEGIS's got a Laser Shotgun or Rifle, I am testing that now. It is a single target, high DPS Mech, with short range and an awesome shield! He is the new Tank, he can withstand many many shots and go toe to toe against the kaijus.

New Mechanics:



Landing Bay:



Now that we got finally more than two mechs, you will need to choose which mechs will join you in the battlefield. Some mechs are better for some missions and some for others. In the future there will be Anti Air Mechs or Melee Mechs! Ohh yes! Let's punch Kaijus in the face!! ːsteammockingː

Mech Platform Tower:



This is going to be a very late tech as you guys can see. But the idea is once you unlock this tower, you can make the mech jump to that tower and move forward the defense line. Just like in a trench warfare.



The platform level 1 will be stronger that a level 1 wall, but it will have much greater life as it is upgrated to level 2 and 3. Still balancing that...


  • If the platform is destroyed, the mech will jump back to the Base Wall.
  • If you sell the platform, the same will ocurr.
  • If the mech is destroyed, it will jump back to the "Hell Carrier" and will not be available for the rest of the battle.


Until now, there is no penalty to the player for losing the mech, but I am thinking in creating the need to spend gold to fix the mech if it's destroyed before it can be used again in the next battle. What do you guys and girls think about that, any ideas?

And off course it 's going to be a new Armor upgrade to the mechs.



Lastely, I'm gonna do a big fix off in all the small bugs you guys and girls pointed to me in the Steam page, so if you find any other bugs... now is the Time.

The Towers Update



Tomorrow, August 30 the largest content update of Mechs V Kaijus to date will be live! I’m very proud of this one, I think it brings a lot of new things to the game making it more interesting and fixing many reported issues. ːsteamhappyː



This update includes:

5 New Towers:

Prism-A Tower: (Destructible: Mk1: 1000HP - Mk2: 1550HP - Mk3: 2500HP - Shield Upgrade)
A Ray tower with devastating power, and the biggest area of damage in the game. This tower could be the most powerful or the most useless. It's a tricky tower to use. It is the first tower that must be pointed manually to get the most out of it. An example is to place it in the lowest part of the map pointing to the line of walls, this way you can attack the entire line of defense.



The Flamethrower: (Destructible: Mk1: 750HP - Mk2: 1000HP - Mk3: 1500HP - No shield)
If the Grinder works better in front of a wall the Flamethrower does it behind it. It has a greater damage area than the grinder and more damage, but it does not slow down the Kaijus.




The Tank Factory: (Destructible: Mk1: 500HP - Mk2: 750HP - Mk3: 950HP - No shield)
This construction introduces a new mechanics to the world of MKV: the production of units. The tank factory Mk2 and Mk3 produces the most powerful new tanks: The Maus Tank from Germany and the Armageddon Tank from Russia, this last one armed with dual cannons and anti air rockets. This factory is very weak and must be protected from the kaiju attacks.




Artillery: (Destructible: Mk1: 450HP - Mk2: 750HP - Mk3: 1000HP - No shield)
The artillery is the tower with the greatest range to date, specially the Mark 3, and great destructive power. It can only attack forward and within an area. You can not attack kaijus who are too close, so it is recommended to put them in the last line of defense. It is not very precise, it has problems with the very fast Kaijus, but if they are stopped by a wall they are doomed.




Sam Site: (Destructible: Mk1: 1000HP - Mk2: 1500HP - Mk3: 2000HP - Shield Upgrade)
The sam site has a much greater reach than the anti-air tower. Shoot 2 to 4 guided missiles with devastating damage and an even greater damage area. Designed to kill large enemy formations and Category 4 Flying Kaijus, it struggles to hit small fast targets.







The Special Ops:

The Salvo Hotel: (Difficulty level: 3/10)

First Special Ops, 15 waves of enemies will try to destroy the Salvo Hotel. The low amount of building nodes for the towers in this one makes imperative that you choose wisely and keep an eye on the upgrades.




The Customs Office: (Difficulty level: 4/10)

This mission is designed to accustom the commander in the fight against the flying Kaijus, before the very difficult mission of Pokio HouseHolds. It has a good amount of construction nodes with a clear line for the walls.




The Park: (Difficulty level: 4.5/10)

The Central Park is the first screen in Horde mode outside of the challenges. Here the kaijus do not come by waves, but the different types of kaijus come all mixed in waves that merge with each other making an infinite stream of kaijus.
It is a good practice before the Battle of Pokio Plaza, which functions in the same modality.




Line of Defence: (Difficulty level: 6/10)

In line of Defense we must defend a UN tank factory where Russia is finishing developing the Armageddon Tank, which the player can use later in the campaign once unlocked.
This map will be almost a trench war where you will have to fight for every centimeter (or inch). This special operation also has the extended battlefield, where the commander will be able to pan the camera to expand his vision of the battle.




Island Jump: (Difficulty level: 8.5/10)

This is probably the strangest map of MVK, few places to build distributed on small islands with a central road very difficult to defend since all the land kaijus concentrated on this point. A great challenge only for the best commanders.




Enter WestWood: (Difficulty level: 8/10)

This battle unfolds north of Westwood Island already taken by the Kaijus. It is a great battlefield where we will have a lot of space to build and use the new towers with greater reach. This is where we will find the full power of the kaijus.






Improvements:

This update brings not so conventional towers as the artillery or the Prism-a tower, for this and at the request of the players we could not delay the displayed range and area of attack of the towers.






Also all the new towers tier 2 are destructible like the walls. For this reason we have changed the graphic of the life bars to make them more visible and differentiate them better from the bars of the Kaijus.



There is again the option to change the difficulty in the OPTIONS menu!




BREAK GAME BUGS FIX!

Finally we found the line of code that could block the upgrades of the mechs and we have corrected it!
We also fixed a bug that occasionally resets the unlock of missions when an update is made.

Maybe some will lose the Odin upgrades in the update, last time. This can happen through the update of the save system.

Fixed a bug that erased some waves of missions, this happens more critically in the Titan challenges, making that sometimes they did not appear. Now they are working correctly.

SMALL BUGS FIX!

This is just too long and boring to put it here! hehehe… If you guys and girls wanna find out about the small changes please let me know and i will do another post.



THE FUTURE OF MVK:

After this update I feel more confident about the game, without break game problems and also that there is enough content to sit down and finish writing episode 2, something everyone is asking for.

Maybe there are some minor updates with problem solutions if there is any, or a new mission, but now I will put the attention in 3 things. The realization of the episode The Kaiju Wars, and the new Mercenaries Mechs and Odin's new custom weapon system.

These are the features most requested by you in the player survey made a few months ago and I intend to deliver them all. I want to make Mechs V Kaijus one of the best Tower Defense Game that has been made, so it takes me more time than I thought. I am very grateful to all the fans that have approached Discord to report bugs, give feedback and always support with the best attitude.

ONLY ONE MESSAGE BEFORE UPDATE

Hello commanders!



I've been working a lot on the next update, and unlike the previous ones I now have a team of beta testers that are helping me find the bugs and problems. This is a benefit for everyone, since it ensures that the next update will leave the game much more stable and without serious bugss that break the game. it can still appear, but I'm sure many less.


I'm happy to tell you that the two most important buggs are solved !! The purchases of upgrades of the mercenaries are no longer blocked when start a new game, nor is the progress of the map or technologies lost.


The next update, The Towers Update introduces 5 new towers, all tier 2, for the late game. This means that they are more powerful, more expensive, but also more difficult to use. Some need to be put in special positions to get the most out of them, like the PRISM-A tower that you can manually aim, others introduce completely new mechanics such as the tank factory.

Additional levels are added outside the campaign, 6 Special OPS. Specially placed as intermediate levels to avoid the Grinder to pass some levels of the campaign where the difficulty is raised too much, like Pokio HouseHolds and The Bridge. The difficulty of Pokio HouseHolds was also lowered a bit, just a little. ːsteammockingː

Your feedback is crucial to define the order of the new Mechs content and the future updates of the game, this is the idea of early access!

For now what you wanted the most is episode 2, plus towers, more mechs and a custom weapons system for Odin. All this will arrive at mechs V Kaijus this year, but the first thing that comes as new content are more towers! In addition to a wiki to know well how to use them, something that many asked for.


Prism: The Prism tower fires a beam that cuts everything in its path, it can even push and move the Kaijus from their place. It is very special since it is the first tower that allows you to reorientate your cannon in 360 ° directly by the commander, opening many possibilities.
