This is not a super-exiting build, but the current goal is to leave early access the week of February 12th. The changes are becoming smaller and more polish based; this build is no exception:
Version 0.52
Achievements All achievements have been adjusted and there are new ones.
Arcade Arcade mode now has a simple scoring system. You also earn one costume color (if you don't have all 8) for a character upon completion.
VFX Updated various char effects and made them more opaque for some attacks.
Bug Fixes Attract Mode now chooses more than just Odon's stage. Updates VFX shader that was causing some, such as Drargos's, VFX to be nearly invisible.
Upon leaving early access, will MerFight be done? NO! Obviously, any major bugs, I'll be addressing, and I plan on doing new characters down the line, but overall, I need a break and to let the game live on its own for a bit outside of early access. Around the 12th, I'll be doing a retrospective stream of the game as well, so be on the lookout. Thanks for playing and your feedback during this time.
0.51.2 -- Outline FIx
A small fix to the outline shader recently added. The shader was inconsistent for some characters' costumes such as Arctina and Bolt.

0.51.1 Patch - Major Visual Change
Version 0.51.1
Art & Optimization
Major art style revamp to both stages and characters. These settings can be adjusted in the Quality Settings menus, which should save properly when leaving. Optimized all stages. Optimized some particle effects to reduce the number of unnecessary draw calls.
Bug Fixes
Gamma's claws should highlight properly when charging for all costumes. Fixed some strange interactions between Rho's counters and characters when performing reversals and when armored. Updated Arctina's 20th challenge combo -- it was not only very difficult but the final hit didn't register. Block and Punish should start on page 1 and not 12.
0.50.3 - Third Time's a Charm...or fourth? idk
Found some issues with Gigi's combo challenges (5, 10, and 16.) Should be fixed now.
0.50.2 - small patch
A small patch to address some errors found from the previous build:
Fixed some challenge combos typos for Rho and Arctina.
Arctina's armor should go away when resetting in training mode.
Fixed the audio issue in the Frozen Arena stage and Enjellique's stage.
Fixed an issue where volume was not being loaded properly for users who language uses "," instead of "." for decimanls. (super loud unfortunately; sorry about that.) Note, volume settings will be reset for all users.
MerFight 0.50.1 is live!
The latest build is live! No video this time, but here is a list of the latest changes:
Bug Fix Fixed a softlock bug that occurred when both players picked the 8th color of the same costume.
Challenge Combos All characters have 20 challenge combos.
Block & Punish Combos Some trial have been updated so Enjellique can complete them.
Story Mode Fixed an issue where some rewards would not unlock. All available costumes should be unlockable now. Note, if you already completed story mode, the rewards should all pop-up when reopening the mode.
Locked Palettes All costumes and palettes are now locked appropriately. Complete story mode to unlock costumes. Complete challenge and block & punish challenges to unlock color palettes. 1 palette for every 5 challenge combos or 1 palette for every 3 block and punish characters completed with another character. Once a palette is unlocked, it is unlocked for all costumes.
Drargos Decreased the wipeout values on some attacks.
Music Music loads different songs depending on the character and mode. Music selection coming soon.

MerFight 0.49
Lots of new fixes to the game. Here's a quick breakdown:
Story Mode All story mode paths are available. Note there will be typos, some confusing dialog (missing props) and not all rewards are available. New locked stage and new locked costumes for various characters.
Online Reduced player count in rooms from 20 to 16 due to a limitation I was unaware of.
General All backdashes have 8 frames of throw invulnerability on start-up Players have 4 frames of throw invulnerability after hit air recovery, getup, blocking, and hit stun recovery. Players should be able to more easily enter super and special moves after landing during air recovery. Air recovery now "hops" players in the air for 15 frames. They cannot be hit, thrown or perform attacks during this time.
Rho Rho's counter attack now pull in opponents making them more guaranteed on success.
Arctina Arctina's somersault kick now recovers on the ground. Arctina's overhead pull in opponent when blocked.
Octonia Tentacle Stretch will now recover 88 health points randomly. (It's not random; there's a pattern to it.) Octograb recovers 10 frames faster.
Naeco Venom Stab pushses opponent away farther on block. Venom Orb is 27.75% slower.
Bolt Uncharged Eel Cannon less 75% time. Removed hitbox from Eel Charge.
Odon Double Smash's 2nd hit's launch distance doubled and launch height halved. Mantis Smash and Mantis Upper travel distance halved when uncharged.
This build addresses two issues, neither of which should affect gameplay:
The build is no longer a development build
Fixes an NullReferenceException that occurs if you disable backgrounds and play on Bolt's stage.
0.48.6 Update
Small build to address some softlocks involving Atlas's story mode and disabling the ability to pause after a match ends. Additionally, Enjellique's JHK's scaling should no longer be as dramatic nor should the amount of energy she gets from the move.

Small Fix
This build addresses the issue that some charge supers did not work properly when charged. Additionally, Bolt's story mode is playable (with two new costumes for him) and the story mode progress bar should be accurate.
