As you’re no doubt aware, at the end of last year we returned to the task of carrying out necessary server merges. A lot has happened in Metin2 over the past few years, and as a result a number of changes had to be made to accommodate alterations to the data structure.
Following our last successful server merge in France at the end of September, it became clear to us that a lot of fundamental improvements are necessary. The French servers were offline for roughly 2 days, which is unacceptable for us as much as it is for you the players.
As a result, we have asked Webzen to make a few core changes, which we expect will make it easier, quicker and less complicated for us to implement server merges in the future, avoiding unnecessarily long downtimes. We will continue planning and implementing server merges as soon as Webzen has made these somewhat complicated changes (sadly we don’t have a fixed date for this yet). Naturally we will keep you informed.
As the plan for 2018 isn’t finalised yet, we cannot reveal any specifics about upcoming contents at this time. But as soon as our plans are ready, we’ll come back to you with the news as soon as possible!

Change Log 18.0
Dear players,
Version 18.0 is our first update of the new year. Read up on everything to expect in our change log:
New
Flower Power Event -Say it with flowers! Collect bags of seeds in the new Flower Power Event and let them develop into shoots. A bunch of ten identical flower shoots can be exchanged for boxes with amazing contents. With the flowers you might find inside these boxes you have a chance to pick up some powerful bonuses, and these can even be upgraded further.
Hero event -Earn fame, glory and medals in our Hero Event! Gather all the pieces of the Hero’s Medal to earn powerful bonuses plus a valuable chest in reward. You can also get your hands on our special cute hats in the item shop!
Hatch Your Own Mini-Boss -The miniature bosses Mini Azrael and the Fat Mini-Executor can now be hatched from pet eggs. Incubate your own little monsters and develop them with the pet system.
Bigger is Better -Sometimes only more is more! The Red Potion is now also available in XL and XXL sizes with +2000 HP and +2400 HP respectively, plus there’s an XXL Blue Potion providing +800 SP.
Changes
-Group Search: The Zodiac Temple is now also integrated in the group search.
-Guild Territory: The Guild Alchemist can now also refine Spirit Stones+3.
-Mission Books (Lord) can now only be used from level 90.
-Guild bank is active again
-Not possible to change channel in-game in some maps (e.g. dungeons)
Bug Fixes
-Mount sound effects have been fixed.
-Hours are now displayed in the Zodiac Temple rankings.
-Fixed a glitch affecting the display of transmuted items in the storeroom.
-Earrings, bracelets and necklaces which have been upgraded with gems now display the correct bonuses.
-Fixed an error which allowed the text colour to be changed with the Glass of Insight.
-The names of private shops can no longer cover two lines.
-The Power Lolly on the Gaya Market has a new animation.
-Reduced the attack range of the Dragon’s Roar skill.

Monster Bash Event
Dear players,
The festivities continue with our brand new Monster Bash event! The event starts on Wednesday 20.12.2017 15:00 CET and ends on Thursday 04.01.2018 15:00 CET.
Let those bells ring out when you beat the boss Baashido around the head in the Monster Bash Event! Amongst other rewards, you can earn powerful buffs or even a pet egg containing a Baby Baashido.
Here’s how it works:
• At the start of the event, the new opponents the Metin of Agony and the sheep boss Baashido will spawn on a random map. The location will be revealed in a server message.
• You’ll have to get your running boots on, because Baashido and the Metin stones will only stay in the same place for a short period of time. If the enemy isn’t defeated within the allotted time, they’ll disappear and reappear at another location on the same map.
• Once an enemy has been defeated, the next one will spawn. Speed is of the essence if you want to defeat as many of these enemies as possible before the end of the event.
• This event cycle will only take place on each map for a certain amount of time, after which the mob will disappear from the map entirely and reappear on another one.
• Important: Enemies are defeated upon taking a certain number of hits. The damage inflicted is irrelevant. Whoever lands the final blow emerges as the victor.
• The ferocious Baashido has one AoE attack and another with knockback, so be on your guard!
• The player who lands the killing blow on the enemy will receive one of nine buffs for 2 hours. It is possible to benefit from more than one buff at once. Should you receive the same buff a second time, its duration will be renewed.
• With a bit of good fortune, it’s also possible to get an egg which will hatch the exclusive event pet Baby Baashido. This pet can be further evolved by means of the pet system.

Discover the Babylonian Treasure!
Heads up treasure hunters!
Your search is over. From 18/12/2017, discover the mysterious Babylonian Treasure in the shop and recover the unimaginable riches contained within – treasures such as the rare griffin pets Gryph and Nogai with their amazing bonuses, Ritual Stones, a Dragon Chest+ (Coloured), a mammoth mount, Weapon Skin Vouchers+ and more!
But unlocking its secrets will not be easy. The ultimate reward – a Sealed Adamantine Chest and key with its priceless contents – will only reveal itself once you have upgraded the Babylonian Treasure step by step to the highest level. The upgrade process isn’t completely risk-free, since there’s a chance the treasure will break, but you won’t go empty-handed whatever happens! Even if the upgrade fails, you’re still guaranteed the reward from the current level. If fortune smiles on you, you might even get another Sealed Adamantine Chest!
-Keep in mind that using Dragon Coins in Babylonian Treasure will not give you Dragon Marks in return.
-New accounts will not have the option to receive a free daily box in order to avoid possible abuse.
Important notice: Please open your Babylonian Treasures and Adamantine Chests before the end of the event on 04/01/2018, as we will then be removing all chests and keys from the game.

Fishing Jigsaw event!
Dear players,
we are in the middle of the holiday season and we prepared another surprise for you to enjoy your weekend: Fishing Jigsaw event!
The event will start on Saturday 16/12/2017 00:00 CET and will end on Sunday 17/12/2017 23:59 CET.
You can read below all the information regarding the event:
You can find this minigame by clicking on the ‘Event’ button and then selecting ‘Fishing Jigsaw’.
The rules of the game are then explained in the following window and you can start playing.
During the event you can catch 5x Fish Jigsaw Chests at once when fishing.
If you have the Fishing Book equipped, you even have a chance to catch a Fish Jigsaw Chest Deluxe.
The standard boxes contain a random jigsaw piece, while the deluxe boxes contain special deluxe pieces.
The aim of the game is to fill in all the spaces in as few attempts as possible.
Left-click on a chest to open it. Drag the jigsaw piece to the desired location with your cursor and place it there. Right-click to discard a piece if you don't like the look of it or it doesn’t fit.
Rewards As soon as you complete the jigsaw, you’ll receive the standard reward of +30,000 EXP.
Depending on the number of attempts required, you’ll also receive one of three Golden Fish Chests.
The fewer attempts needed, the better the reward you’ll receive:
10 or fewer: Golden Fish Chest (L) – can be opened 3 times
11 to 24: Golden Fish Chest (M) – can be opened twice
25 or more: Golden Fish Chest (S) – can be opened once

Soul Event!
Dear players,
as promised we are launching a brand new event for you, to make your souls more powerful during the holiday season!
The event will start on Wednesday 06.12.2017 14:00 CET and it will end on Tuesday 19.12.2017 14:00 CET.
Read below to see what the NPC Ah-Yu prepared for you:
Soul System
Who said soldiers don’t need a soul? During this event you can pick up two powerful souls for your character!
Here’s how it works:
The Soul System Event begins with the quest ‘Ah-Yu’s Plea’. Characters can accept this quest from level 30.
• Come to the NPC Ah-Yu’s aid and you will be rewarded with a valuable Soul Case.
• Inside the case you will find both a red Oneiric Soul and a blue Celestial Soul.
-Unopened cases will disappear from your inventory after 24 hours.
-In order to open the case and retrieve the souls, you’ll need two free slots in your inventory.
• The souls have a duration of 24 hours and provide the following effects:
-Oneiric Soul: Increases attack damage
-Celestial Soul: Increases skill damage
-The effects only apply in PvE, not in PvP or while you are transformed.
• A soul’s effect can be activated as soon as the playing time displayed in the tooltip has been reached.
• Both souls can be activated at the same time. The souls swirl around you as spheres when active.
• Each soul has a fixed number of attacks which is displayed in the tooltip.
-The Oneiric Soul applies to each attack on your opponents.
-The Celestial Soul applies to each skill cast on your opponents.
• You can upgrade the level of your souls, thereby improving them. This requires the following item from the item shop:
-Soul Parchment – Develops your soul by up to two levels. This process may fail.
• The following levels can be reached:
-Gleaming Soul (playing time: 1 hour / duration: 1 day)
- Lustrous Soul (playing time: 2 hours / duration: 2 days)
-Prismatic Soul (playing time: 3 hours / duration: 3 days)
-Illumined Soul (playing time: 3 hours / duration: 7 days)
• Levelling up your soul:
-increases its effect
-refreshes its duration
-resets the number of attacks
• Should an attempt to improve your soul fail, it will keep its existing level, duration and number of attacks.
• The souls are not permanent. Once the maximum level has been reached, the duration cannot be extended any further.
