We’ve been pouring over your feedback in order to solidify our priorities moving forward. One item that we have seen relates to changing the combat to a turn-based format. We take your feedback very seriously and so would like to take a moment to explain why we have chosen not to place this within our priorities.
When we began development of Might & Magic SHOWDOWN, the core vision driving the game was bringing miniature figurines to life – to imbue them with an animus all their own, just as so many of us envisioned when we were younger. Real-time action is one of the pillars on which our game stands and we believe a shift to turn-based would go against our fantasy and original vision.
That said, we have heard the feedback about our real-time combat system and are looking at how we can address it while staying true to our vision for the game.
This does not mean that we are not open to major alterations to the game, however, and we hope that the changes resulting from our recent Feedback Update illustrate our commitment to both the Early Access platform and you, our players.
Make sure you tune in to the official Ubisoft channel (https://twitch.tv/Ubisoft) this Thursday at 4pm GMT (5pm CET, 11am EST) as UbiJimothy will be going into more detail about upcoming changes and plans based on your feedback!
We hope to surprise you with what we deliver in the coming weeks!

Feedback Update Jan 20
Hello Heroes!
First we’d like to thank you all for being so generous with your feedback – it is a crucial part of the Early Access process and we appreciate your candor and precision!
Another crucial part of this process is our response to that feedback, and in that spirit we would like to offer a general picture of where we believe your suggestions are guiding us. In the coming week, we’ll outline in greater detail what we are accomplishing during our Update Livestream on twitch.tv/ubisoft.
Without further ado, based on the feedback we’ve received so far, here are the team’s major priorities at present:
PLAYER CONTROLS
Many of you have commented on the Hero controls during fight. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will concentrate on refining the degree of control you can have on your Hero. We’re going to work on it for a bit and come back in a week to review our direction with you.
SHARING CONTENT
We recognize that showing off your figurines is quickly becoming a major source of pride and we hear your requests for more ways to do this. As a result, the team is looking into various methods with which you can invite other players to view your collection. We have a few ideas, so we’ll invest some time into exploring what’s possible and come back to you to check in.
We aim at bringing a first version of these changes within the next 2 to 3 weeks.
Thanks again for all of your support Heroes and we’re looking forward to hearing additional feedback from everyone!

MMS Early Access FAQ
What is Early Access? Early Access gives you, the player, the ability to enjoy the game whilst shaping the course of its development. A game in Early Access is not necessarily ‘finished’, but is by no means a ‘beta’. Although all of the content planned for a game may not be there, you’ll still have a full game to play and will be able to give direct feedback to the developers as they release updates along the way.
Why are we going into Early Access? By going into Early Access, we can be as close to our Showdown community as possible. We want you guys to really get a feel for the game, and give you the chance to help us mould the future of the game as we go along. We’re really committed to working with our community, and want to know exactly what kind of changes or improvements you would like to see.
You can leave all of your feedback for us directly in the ‘Discussions’ tab above, so if there’s anything on your mind about the game, do share it with us!
Let’s take the adventure together, and make the world of Showdown an incredible one!
All the best,
- Your MMS Team
Welcome to Might & Magic SHOWDOWN
Warmest welcomes, Heroes, to Might & Magic SHOWDOWN!
SHOWDOWN brings you tactical arena combat, mixing strategic planning and real time action in quick, bite-sized sessions, with the mystical world and illustrious inhabitants of the Might and Magic universe. You’ll also be able to fully customize the appearance of your party with our in-depth miniature painting workshop.
Whether you’re a strategic commander, ready to storm the battlefield, or an aspiring artist, swapping the blade for the elegance of a brush, SHOWDOWN has something for you!
As big fans of tabletop gaming and miniature painting, we wanted to bring both aspects of that world together, reliving the nostalgic past time of painting your own army just how you want them, and bringing in the modern gaming aspect to allow them to battle right before your eyes, something we always wanted when we were younger!
We’re delighted to have you with us as we enter Early Access and begin modelling our community together. In this Steam Forum, we’d love to see all of your feedback towards the game, and all of your creations and victories along the way!
