Miner: Dig Deep

Dev post #1

Hey everyone,
The update for version two of MDD is almost finished and we’re busy testing the game. Until this point the focus has been on improving things while keeping the original gameplay (well, mostly the same. I’ll discuss this more in a future post.) I’m pretty happy with the extra polish and quality-of-life improvements we’ve added since the XBLIG version, and now it’s time for something new!
As this is the first time any new gameplay has been added to the original, I thought the version two label was in order. This version introduces different game modes, the first of which is peaceful mode. Peaceful mode includes:

  • Never lose any gems or ore when fainting.
  • Rocks give plenty of warning before they fall.
  • There are no cave-ins.
  • The miner character can jump off the top of ladders.
  • A nifty green outfit for your miner.

After the release on Steam, we saw a bit of a split in the feedback, most of you enjoyed playing the original, but some felt the the game wasn’t quite relaxing enough. I hope the introduction of game modes gives you all an experience that suits. As always, we’re looking forward to your feedback.

The new update is planned for release on the 3rd of Feb.

Small patch

Hey everyone,

We have a small patch to fix some small but urgent issues.

  • Reduced the likelihood of cave-ins.
  • Error logs are now kept on disk. Previously, old logs were lost.
  • Improved performance and load times.

Thanks for the feedback and for playing!

Christmas has ended

Hey everyone,

The Christmas update is now over, the ice has melted, and mines are back to normal. We hope you've enjoyed the Christmas update!

This is a minor update and just includes a new in-game help screen. This is accessed by the F1 key.

Stay tuned for a new update coming soon!

Christmas update patch

A small patch to fix a crash that can occur in winter-themed mines.

Christmas update

It's that time of year again, Christmas has come to Miner: Dig Deep.

The winter update includes:

  • Winter is here: lots of snow, Christmas trees, lights, and more! (Temporary during the winter break.)
  • Mines created near Christmas have ice platforms underground.
  • Digging is now possible while on a grabhook.
  • Improved gamepad controls for getting on and off lifts.
  • Blueprints are no longer included in post-game mines.
  • Added an option to toggle between displaying a window and fullscreen.

Thank you for playing! We hope you enjoy the new update, and have a relaxing, safe and happy break!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Minor patch for some issues

A small patch has just been released that fixes the following:

  • Fixed a crash when loading some mines.
  • Control changes can now be reset to their defaults by pressing the F5 key. (In case a recovery is needed due to a bad control setup.)

Control rebinding support

Hi all,

We've just released support for control rebinding.

As always, thanks for all your feedback!

The second patch

Hi all,

We have another patch with the following improvements:

  • Falling boulders are a little more forgiving. When you're only a little bit too close, the boulder will push you aside.
  • Screen shakes can now be reduced. Available in the options menu.
  • Cave-ins are now shorter and less frequent.
  • Fixed an issue with cave-ins going for too long in areas containing a large number of lifts.

Thanks again to you all for giving us your feedback on these issues!

We hope you enjoy this new patch.

First patch

Hi all,
We've just released a minor patch to address the following:

  • Lifts now dig under stacks of rocks.
  • Fixed the UI being too small on some PCs.

These are fixes for issues that have come from the community. Thanks so much to you all for taking the time to share your feedback, we're reading everything, and are very appreciative!
