1.2.8 - Incorrect Flag UI Improvement

I have published this update to try to solve some confusion.

In previous versions of the game, an incorrectly-placed flag has been represented like this:

Note the image of the mine with an X above it. This is how incorrectly-placed flags have been represented in other Minesweeper games too.

It seems that this representation has caused some confusion.
Several players have left negative reviews, and seem to think that the mines have been miscalculated or the game is bugged.
I can't find any evidence of such bugs in my own testing, and most players have left positive reviews with no mention of any bugs.
I have concluded that this incorrect-flag sprite is the cause of the confusion.

To try to make this clearer, I have replaced the 'mine-and-X' sprite with just the 'X' sprite.
See this image:

This should make it clearer that there is not actually a mine here, but that the player placed their flag on an incorrect square.

Please let me know if this update makes the game easier (or harder) to understand.
Minesweeper Ultimate now has over 8000 players, and I want everyone to enjoy it.
Of course, I'm still open to the possibility that there is actually a bug somewhere that people are experiencing.
Please tell me if these changes improve the game for you!

1.2.7 - Leaderboard Bug Fix

I've just published an update which should fix some of the problems we've been experiencing with the leaderboards.
Unfortunately this means I've had to wipe the leaderboards once again, as I haven't been able to filter out the false times which were posted due to the error.

Please let me know if you have any more problems with the leaderboards!

1.2.5 - Style Update

I've updated two of the style options to be more visually friendly.
A few reviews mentioned that they were much too bright to play comfortably!

Please let me know how you find them.

1.2.4 - Keyboard Shortcut Change

I've made another small change to the keyboard shortcuts, changing the [SHIFT] key to the [SPACEBAR] key for the hint feature.
This is so that it doesn't interfere with the [SHIFT + Tab] key combination to toggle the Steam overlay.

Thanks to the helpful gamer who quickly brought this to my attention!

1.2.4 - Keyboard Shortcut Change

I've made another small change to the keyboard shortcuts, changing the [SHIFT] key to the [SPACEBAR] key for the hint feature.

1.2.3 - Keyboard Bug Fix

I've just remapped some of the keyboard shortcuts, as I was informed about a bug.

Instead of pressing 1 and 2, the keyboard shortcuts for the restart and hint buttons are now CTRL and SHIFT.
The in-game advisory text has also been updated to remind us of these changes.

1.2.2 - Game Colours

I've just updated the game to change the default colour scheme once again, to show more neutral tones on the 'number squares'.

1.2.1 - Keyboard Shortcuts, Style Improvements

I've just updated the game with a few small improvements.

I read a few recent comments from people who wanted to add keyboard shortcuts. Well, here they are!
Pressing '1' restarts the game, while pressing '2' toggles the hint feature.
Escape ('Esc') can also be used to return to the main menu or exit the game.
These keyboard shortcuts should work on all keyboards, so please tell me if there is a problem.
There are also in-game reminders, when scrolling over a button, about which keyboard shortcut can be used.

Finally, there are some small changes to the colour scheme.
Many colours have been changed to be less bright, allowing for a more comfortable playing experience.
Style number 4, the bright yellow colour scheme, has also been removed entirely.
I'm sure nobody will miss it!

Enjoy the game and take care; it's a minefield out there.

1.2.0 - New Leaderboards, Steam Overlay

This update makes a significant change to the Minesweeper Ultimate leaderboards.
Leaderboards now consider milliseconds as well as whole seconds.
This is to make the leaderboards more competitive.
The in-game clock has also been updated to display milliseconds.

I have also added functionality so that the Steam overlay can be shown in-game.
Press your usual key combination (typically SHIFT + TAB) to toggle the overlay.

These changes should work the same for all users.
Please let me know if there are any problems!

1.13 - Localization

A very minor update which adds localized text to the 'Custom' and 'Start' buttons.

Minesweeper Arcade has also just been published. Check it out!
