Moncage is Set to Release on November 16, 2021
The development for Moncage began almost four years ago, and it has been such an incredible journey - particularly with the tremendous love and support from our amazing community. And today, we are extremely excited to announce that Moncage will be arriving on Steam, iOS, and Android on November 16th, 2021. You can pick up the game for just $13.49 on Steam during the launch sale, or $3.99 on mobile!
Moncage is an award-winning vignette puzzle adventure inside a mysterious cube that connects parallel worlds through mind-boggling optical illusions. Each side of the cube houses a dynamic world with hidden connections to the others; the player must carefully manipulate the cube and find the possible connections and interactions between objects across multiple sides to decrypt the puzzles.
Underneath the multidimensional puzzle-solving experience, there lies a delicate story about a young boy, his father, and a lighthouse. By interacting with objects across multiple scenes and from unique perspectives, combined with locating a hidden photo collection, you may just be able to uncover the secrets of the cube…
We have also made significant improvements and adjustments to Moncage over its early demo. In addition to the revamped visuals, we introduced an achievement system with 15 unlockable achievements, each corresponding with a Medal award; we also implemented an intuitive hint system to not only highlight key items, but to provide the player with thoughtful guidance via text and videos.

Are you the master medal collector?
Thank you all so much for your patience! We’re now in the final stretch of Moncage and have been getting everything ready for launch. The official launch date and price will be announced very soon!

There are a total of 15 Medals in Moncage. Similar to the trophy system on gaming consoles, players are awarded corresponding Medals when triggering certain conditions in the game. Each of the Medals has been crafted with a uniquely stunning design.

Out of the 15 Medals, many of them are automatically unlocked as you reach certain points of the game, while some others may require active item collection to be triggered; a few of these Medals may even come with hidden surprises. Why wouldn’t you want to collect them all?

Moncage serves new looks!
Before we get started, let’s address the elephants in the room:
1. Moncage is set to release by the end of this year; official launch date will be announced soon. 2. Moncage will be available to purchase on Steam, App Store, Google Play and TapTap.
Now, the fun stuff:
Upon completion of content development, we immediately launched into post-production and have already made quite some progress, particularly in visual optimization.
As you can see in the comparison below, we’ve made significant upgrades since the demo build with added focus blur, new text glow, and enhanced volumetric lighting, etc., all for a more immersive gameplay experience.

In addition to the lighting changes from external sources, we went over each and every scene from within the cube and made visual adjustments to the environments, exposure, and color saturation, etc. In the example below, the skies and overall settings have been modified in accordance with the particular scene.

For indoor scenes, we focused on adding visual elements such as windows, picture frames, and stickers for them to look even more elaborate and reflect the overarching storyline.

Moncage 101: Introduction to the Hint Systems
In puzzle games, the act of putting seemingly disconnected pieces together to solve a particularly complex puzzle might be one of the most satisfying experiences there is; however, getting stuck on one maybe, well, the complete opposite of that, if not worse.
If you, like us, have no resistance to a good puzzle game and also appreciate the occasional guidance to avoid getting stuck, then we have just the game for you. In Moncage, there are a multitude of thoughtful hints that the player can choose to activate for almost every situation. Regardless of your proficiency with puzzle-solving, this is a game that you won’t want to miss.

Basic function: Focus
There are two modes in which a player can activate Focus - Classic Mode and Challenge Mode.
In Classic Mode, activating Focus will reveal the key item that solves the next puzzle. This is recommended for most players.
In Challenge Mode, Focus will reveal all relevant puzzle pieces in the current scene. This is recommended for players who prefer a more challenging experience.
As one of the basic functions in Moncage, Focus has been designed to help players effectively pinpoint their next move. At any point of the game, players can switch between Classic Mode and Challenge Mode as they see fit.

↑ Focus activated Challenge Mode is recommended for patient players who prefer to figure out the puzzles on their own

Hint system: hint text
In addition to Focus, there are hint texts.
Identifying a puzzle is only, well, the first piece of the puzzle; identifying that ultimate solution is the game changer. When the player is stuck on a particular puzzle for over a certain period of time, a question mark will pop up in the upper right corner - click on it to reveal the hint text.
Each puzzle in the game is equipped with 1 to 3 pieces of hint text. These hints are not meant to be straightforward spoilers, but to nudge you in the right direction and help narrow down on the possible solutions.

Hint system: video walkthroughs
Even with the subtle hint text, it’s entirely possible that a player may still be struggling with the puzzles. This is where the video walkthroughs come in.
Although we want our players to thoroughly explore everything in game and find the solutions themselves, we understand that they may occasionally get stuck. So we implemented an ultimate safety plan - video walkthroughs.
Once the player exhausts all hint texts for a particular puzzle but is still unable to solve it, they may opt to unlock a video that walks them through the exact steps to solve it.
