Today, we're very happy to release an update that adds Workshop Map Support to MudRunner on PC. What this means for you is that we now officially support map mods in MudRunner, and players will be able to upload and download their creations through the Steam Workshop, in the same way that they can for trucks.
You will find an update to both MudRunner and the MudRunner Editor.
Should you need help learning how modding tools work in MudRunner, here is our official guide. This will teach you to make both map mods and vehicle mods.
Multiple bug fixes and improvements to level editing mode.
Undo/redo history now works for changing object position and orientation.
Trucks are now better visualised on the map. Truck/trailer/addon picker dialog added.
Truck orientation can now be arbitrary. (Trucks are no longer required to be landed.)
Mods can now contain levels that are properly exported to the workshop.
Improvements were made to the "import 2016 level" function.
Truck textures are now better optimised when exporting to the workshop.
Added "default screenshot for the item" function added for mods.
If you want to play older maps on this new version, you will need to convert them to the game using the conversion tool in the edtior. Once this is done, the older maps will be compatible with MudRunner
Should you not want to move to this new update just yet, you are able to stay on the current branch by going to "public branch ver_18_01_29b" in your available betas.
Thank you, and we'll talk to you soon,
The MudRunner team.
March Community Update
Hello MudRunners!
It's that time again, where we sit down and let you know what's currently going on in MudRunner, and what you can expect. In this monthly updates, we plan to give you more context on what is coming in the near term of the game, and give you some things to look forwards to!
To start, PC players may be aware that we're currently running a public beta for adding map modding tools to the PC version of the game, and allowing players the ability to upload their maps for easy sharing on the Steam workshop.
Depending on how this beta goes, we plan to release this update, which would introduce full map modding tools to the PC version of the game, in early April. Please make sure you try it out if you're playing on PC, your feedback is infinitely valuable!
We're really pleased that this sort of content resonated with the community, and **we're currently working on a similar update**, that we plan to show you all properly in the next month or so. This will, of course, be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.We'll have more news on what this will contain, what it's called, and all that good stuff in the near future!
As was stated in the February community update, we are continuing to work on MudRunner USA (work-in-progress title), and we're working on having that out this year. Pretty obviously, this will be set in the United States, and with a huge part of the MudRunner community being based in the US, we'd like to show some support with some more familiar vehicles.
We are continuing to explore what options we have to add mods to the console versions of MudRunner. We thank modders for their contributions in helping us make MudRunner the best game it can be, but as always, we don't have any concrete plans to implement mods at this time. We continue to look into the possibility to introduce our favourite mods to the console versions of MudRunner as DLC.
Finally, there is still work happening on the Nintendo Switch version of MudRunner. We don't have much more to say about this right now, but it is coming, and we'll have more news about it in the future!
Thanks, and we'll talk to you soon!
February Community Update
Hello all!
As was stated in the last update post where we announced The Valley, we're going to be doing a monthly community update for MudRunner, to let you know what we're working on, what to expect soon, and some other cool things!
To start, it's not been that long since The Valley released on February 13th, but we're very happy to see so many players enjoying the map and the three new vehicles that we added to the game at this time. What has been your favourite part of The Valley so far?
We have a little treat for you all today, in addition to all the news below. We've noticed that some players have been making their own navigation maps and that these have been made using screenshots of the fully explored map screen, or in some cases hand drawn. We understand that this is something that many of you would like to do, and so we've **packaged all the map images, in high resolution, for you to print off and make navigation maps** with. Please enjoy!
Now, the bit that you've all been waiting for, what we're working on! There's actually a lot going on with MudRunner right now, all of it in various stages of development, and not much of it that we can actively talk about at the moment. With that said, we can specifically say some things that we're working on and aim to have out this year.
We're currently working on an additional update coming out early this year that we currently expect to include workshop map support, as well as some other cool new features!
As well as this, yes, MudRunner USA (work-in-progress title) is currently in development, and we aim to have this out this year. It will, of course, be set in the United States. We understand that a large part of the MudRunner community are based in the United States, and would like to support them with content that is a little bit more familiar. We're also looking into licensing official vehicles for this.
In addition to MudRunner USA, we're continuing to explore the options of adding mods to the console versions of the game. We love the modding communities for MudRunner, and thank them for their enthusiasm in continuing to help us make MudRunner the best game it can be. We continue to currently look into the possibility to add some of our favourite mods into the console versions of MudRunner as DLC.
Finally, a Nintendo Switch version of MudRunner is currently being worked on. We don't have much more to say about this right now, but it is coming, and we'll have more news about it in the future!
In conclusion, we're working on a lot of different things currently, all of which will come later in the year! We'll have more news on these individually as the year progresses.
Medium log trailer (compatible with some of base game trucks)
Medium log trailer's logs load
Various bug fixes
We are currently investigating reports of poor performance in this latest update. If you encounter performance issues with this update, please try the following:
1. Unsubscribe from all mods
2. Delete your profile (This is cloud synced, so you won't lose your progress, but we recommend backing up this file just in case).
3. Re-install the game.
This should help with the issue while we work on a fix.
Change Log:
Letters are now properly automatically uppercased
Linebreaks were fixed
Minor improvements to autowinch point selection.
Minor improvements to the legacy camera mode
Minor improvements to sounds
Minor water shading and other texture improvements
Minor truck setup improvements
Lobby members will now select the trucks they want to use when entering a map
Steering Wheels Differential Lock in hardcore mode will now behave the same way as in casual mode.
Some vehicles are now able to toggle differential lock on and off
Soil has been made softer
The game will now detect available video memory and will downgrade textures if they don't fit.
Lobby hosts will now select up to eight mods for the game.
Enjoy, and we'll see you soon!
Announcing Free DLC - The Valley!
Hello all!
It's now been just over two months since MudRunner launched, and it's our absolute pleasure to announce the first DLC for MudRunner, The Valley.
We currently plan for this first DLC to release in February. It will be a free content update. This first DLC will include brand new content for the game, in many different forms. Firstly, it will introduce a brand new map, also called The Valley, which is a very large heavily forested map. Similar to Deluge in the base game, you will start outside of a garage, and will need to claim one for yourself.
In addition to a brand new map, we will also be introducing three new powerful vehicles. These three vehicles can be used on any map, provided you have enough progression points unlocked. Like for other maps and their specific vehicles, you won't have to spend points to use these vehicles in The Valley.
There will be the A-969, a powerful 4x4 vehicle, specially adapted to the heavily forested terrain of The Valley.
The C-6317, a six-wheeled truck able to sport a wide arrangement of add-ons.
And the E-7429, a very large 8x8 truck with a special hidden talent.
We'll have more information on each of these vehicles in the lead up to release, in weekly vehicle presentations and factsheets once again.
Not only will there be new vehicles and a new map in The Valley, but there will also be eight new addons.
These are as follows:
C-6317 Spare Wheel
A-969 Spare Wheel
A-969 Fuel Canisters
A-969 Garage Parts
A-969 Utility Attachment
E-7429 Advanced Trailer Hitch
E-7429 Repair Kit
E-7429 Garage Semi-Trailer (Also compatible with the E-7310 from the base game)
Medium log trailer (compatible with some trucks from the base game)
For the modders out there, there will be some more assets for you to play with when making your maps and vehicles!
These are:
E-7310 trailer hitch
A broken tree asset, which is currently only used on the The Valley
A dirt road terrain overlay type, which is also currently only used on The Valley
Players will be able to muck around in The Valley as soon as the DLC is installed, so if you've just got the game, and not finished other maps, don't worry! You can get stuck into The Valley all the same.
Your goals on The Valley will be similar to classic maps, unlocking other garages and lumber mills around the map.
We look forward to sharing you more about the DLC as time goes on!
That's not all, though! In addition to this new DLC news, we'd like to say that we plan on doing a monthly community update for you all, sharing what we're working on, and introducing some cool things that we've seen from the community.
Talk to you soon!
Stability Update
Hi all!
We've got a bit of a stability update releasing on PC today. This patch addresses a major stability issue that was reported after last week's update, as well as adds some improvements. The console update continues to be planned for next week, as originally planned.
Change Log

Cockpit camera can still be activated with a right click - but only when "move camera" mode is active (no hovering over the truck)
Reduce the sensitivity of the vertical centered camera.
Audio <*> New and improved "repair" sounds
<*> Minor sound improvements
Fixes
Assign '3' as hotkey for "cockpit camera" for players who launch the game for the first time
Show "exit cockpit camera" instead of "activate cockpit camera" when using the mouse in cockpit view
Restore missing "Stalling" and "Diff Lock" overlay text
Trailer attachment socket can now be activated with gamepad when looking backwards in cockpit view
Fixed mods sorting by date/rank in "Manage Mods"
Other Improvements
Separate trucks in truck picker into three groups: stock | certified mods | uncertified mods
Minor visuals improvements (x-ray engine)
Added headlight projection textures (small improvement to headlight visuals at night)
Edited to add: Lots of players are asking for workshop map support and working mirrors in the comments. This is something that we are currently working on, and plan to introduce to the game in the future.
As always, please continue to let us know what you think of the game, and let us know if there's any issues or feedback you have. It's all going towards making MudRunner the best game it can be!
Thanks, and talk to you soon!

Players can choose the legacy camera by disabling "Center camera on the truck" in the settings
The new centered camera can be zoomed in/out to increase visibility.

Cockpit camera is now activated with the right mouse-button.
Added a keybind to activate cockpit camera.

Long mod names will now be shortened.
SAVING & LOADING
Plants (trees) are now properly saved to and loaded from save files.
When moving the camera, the map is now loaded more efficiently.

The front/rear camera hint is now presented at the beginning of the tutorial, and in THE RIG challenge, and will no longer appear in REPAIR & REFUEL.
THE RIG cockpit bonus objective will now correctly mark itself "finished" as soon as the player reaches the unloading area.
The tutorial will now demonstrate both the legacy and centered camera versions.
OTHERS
Removed the requirement to align a trailer to the truck when loading logs onto a trailer.
Multiplayer chat will no longer overlap with keyboard/gamepad hints at the bottom of the screen.
The mouse will now work properly after activating the Steam Overlay with a gamepad or steering wheel.
When clicking on "load up" points to pack a load, advanced mode will no longer be exited.
Various other tweaks and fixes.
In upcoming patches, we plan to include Workshop support for maps, working mirrors in cockpit view, and additional wheel support.
We'll give you more visibility on updates as soon as we can. Please continue to give us your feedback so that we can together continue to make MudRunner the best game it can be.
Many thanks!

One Month Update
Hi everyone,
It's now been a month since MudRunner launched, and we're very excited to share with you some of the new features that we're working on to come to the game in the next week or so! In case you missed what was in the last update, please check here.
We currently plan for these features to come to PC next week and to consoles a couple of weeks after. We will introduce full patch notes when the patches launch.
New upcoming features:
A new optional camera mode, centred on the vehicle.
A new autosave system, that will save automatically every five minutes.
The ability to look through the back of the vehicle while in cockpit view.
Dramatically adjusting the difficulty of loading logs onto a trailer. Players will find it easier to straighten out the truck so that logs can be loaded now.
More steering wheels will be officially supported, and even more will work, but not all will receive pedal support or controller presets.
New keyboard shortcuts so that players can easily switch to the cockpit view.
Various tweaks and fixes.
We're, of course, continuing to update the game past this, with updates such as map workshop support, working mirrors and other additional features coming in the future, as well as additional unannounced content.
Thanks, and we look forwards to bringing you this new update! Please continue to give us your feedback, as we continue to work on MudRunner.
See you soon!
