Unique items - Upcoming
An upcoming update coming to the game is the introduction of Unique items.
How do they work? Unique items can be more common than legendary items, Though considering there will be 2 ways of acquiring them.
Guaranteed drop every x number of items found. (Shared between characters)
small % chance of finding one when successfully rolling a rare or higher item.
Unique items generate differently. They are items with specific names and a number of specific affixes. A normal item will have Implicit, Prefixes, and Suffixes. While a unique item will have Implicit, Unique Affixes, and Random Affixes.
The implicit will remain the same, unless the unique says otherwise. What that means is, a unique cloak will still roll the same implicit affixes. But that doesn't mean a Unique Affix won't change that. Unique affixes are dependent on the Unique item's name. So a "Large Sword" found multiple times, The unique affixes will always roll the same. But the values may be different. To keep some randomness, as well as balance. Most Unique will have random affixes. A unique sword might roll 2-4 random Chest rolls, Or just the normal 2-4 sword rolls. It can be unique.
When finding a unique item. There will be a "Unique Armory" in the inventory that stores these items. A unique item found more than once will use the highest value of the Implicit, and Unique Affix rolls. In regards to the Random Affixes, The player may choose to keep the old affixes, Or roll new Random Affixes.
Equipping a unique will attempt to put the current equipped item in the players inventory. If it can not, Then the player will be notified to make room before the unique can be equipped. A unique item can only be equipped on one character at a time. All Unique are shared between characters.
