Muppy The Bunny: The Danger of Wishes

7.5.0 Release

Hello everyone. It's almost time for yet another update, can you believe it? I wanted to upload this sooner
but the program I'm making the game with kept crashing during saves so i had to redo a bunch of stuff.
Anyways, the main focus is to update a large portion of the levels to be less boring. Anyways, here is the change-log:

Almost every level has been changed in some way, some drastic, some minor.

Merged the Player Select/Difficulty Settings into one menu.

Improved the opening story.

Fixed the endings so the new characters show up.

Changed the water world boss to require direct attacks as opposed to deflecting a spike.

Made spinning into spikes hurt you(I removed it for difficulty balance but it made the game too easy I think, I might add it back soon though)

Various bug fixes

I also started work on the prologue/epilogue #1(after the good ending), couldn't get it done in time for my release window, but it is getting there(see Small Updates thread in the fourms for more info on that)

7.0.0 Released

Greetings Everyone, I had just updated the game to it's biggest update yet. I was originally going to update it slightly but decided to go in and fix a ton of stuff. I haven't updated the store page to reflect this yet, but anyways, I'll explain every patch note I could remember(I don't often keep track).
___________________________________________________________________
New Introduction(Yes, the into says 5 rabbits despite only being 4, I'm planning a new update to explain that a little more)

A TON of updated art(almost every graphic has been modified some way or another).

Completely changed both of the endings.

Fixed some levels dragging on(notably World 2, but some others)

Fixed the credits.

Added wish orbs to the snow world boss room so the carrots no longer are required.

A bonus stage for those who beat the game with lives on.

A fully animated cut scene.

A Pause feature(press the letter "P" to activate it)

Removed looking up and down(it was messing with the pause menu and causing a glitch that crashed the game)

Final boss is now a LOT harder.

Fixed a bug where the final mine cart level's layout would carry over to the castle levels.

Made the story more comprehensible.

New story additions at the end of every chapter, as opposed to just some.

Short "tutorial" level added.

Removed *most* leap of faith moments(there are two of them, but they would be a pain to remove and not very beneficial).

Introduced a new character(chose the bad ending to see).

Characters have a new style for the cut scenes and some non playable events.

Various other bug fixes, changes, and other stuff of the sort.
__________________________________________________________________

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this new update, I put a lot of work into it.
Also, I'll post the little updates to the game in a pinned thread in the discussion board(The Updates/Small Plans Thread) as to not mess with the announcements feature too much, so be sure to check there if you want more updates.

New Major Update Coming Soon

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that soon a new update will be coming to this game, specifically to the story side of things. To be honest I feel as if the story could seriously use some work...and seeing as the sequel I'm making is going to be heavily story based, I feel I need to slowly update this game over time to fit better with the new game. And by that I mean new cutscenes, new continuity, new endings, and all sorts of the sort.

The story update is nearly done, aside from double checking and just various improvements I need to make, expect it between June 10th and June 20th.

And after that I have yet another update, which I had to block from the story update due to wanting to make sure the existing story is good.

Anyways, after update 6.1.0(story update) I'm adding an update to add a playable Dark, and show how and why he's taken over the world. It's an entirely new story. Unfortunately, I've only just started on developing it. I was going to make it a spinoff, but since I'm already working on 2 games off and on(this and Muppy The Bunny: a Tale of Redemption) it would just be easier to mix two games together(despite this one being pretty much dead).

Edit: I'm sorry I posted this as an event, I meant to post it as news, the new Steam AI confused me for a second.

Update 6.0.0 Soon + Apologies.

Hello guys, Skyler again here. It's been since November since the initial completion of the game. At that point, I'd pretty much given up on all this game had to offer at that time, and kind of just left some fan content in a post and called it a day. Truth is I kind of miss working on this game, though...I kind of wore myself out on it for awhile. I mean, I kind of dug what was for awhile, a some-what competent game into the ground by updating it a little too much. And truth be told, after all trying to make a game that appealed to everyone, kind of took out what little charm it had.

After trying and fixing everything 10x over, even things that didn't really need fixed, made the game kind of worse. There are so many bugs I introduced while trying to patch others out, and it ultimately became a pretty bad game. So I'm going to rectify this and now that I've taken a pretty long break, I can kind of see where a lot of the issues are and can fix them. I actually have 6.0.0 completed, but due to how different it is compared to others, I need to get some extra time for the store page before I can release it. Hopefully it will be out sometime soon.

I'm sorry I released this game in such a bad state at this point in development, and I hope this update will help.

Also, those of you who follow my GameJolt may also know I'm working on a sequel(although it is behind plan because i didn't back up for awhile). As time goes on I'll work on the story a tad more to help it be more cohesive.

That is really all I can say for now, I'll get it out ASAP.

Update 3/20/2020 : I am about to set the build and things live. I do warn you I replaced the soundtrack with a custom one(which isn't that great, but I made it myself this time. I have to patch change the credits soon.

The Grand Finale/Update 5.0.0

Hello, this is Skyler, the creator of Muppy and the main person behind this game. I just wanted to create a formal end to this game. I've been working on this update for quite sometime and feel as if this should be the last one. I've been very busy with life and just hadn't had time to work on this game that much. I was planning on letting the last update be it, I was happy with it...for a while....Then I replayed it, and realized how almost unplayable the game was. It took a lot of bug-fixing. I've decided that no amount of work I can do on this game can fix the messy code, so I made do with what I had. I tried to fix as much as I could. Although I fixed a lot, not nearly as much as I would like was fixed, and that is due to a few reasons I think I might leave here.

1. Age and Skill : I started this game when I was just about to turn 14, and the first early access build I released was done by the time I just turned 15(almost a whole year). And as most of you may know, teenagers aren't exactly the best at coding. Even though I've improved slightly, my game dev skills still aren't top notch to say the least.

2. Procrastination and life : Yeah, life gets in the way of things, and even when I have the time, I'm always just waiting for new ideas to come that never do.

And I just want to say, thanks to all of you wonderful people, even if you didn't like the game. I do say you guys help me improve on my gaming journey. And even though this game didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to, I will keep doing games, even though it will be a couple more years before my next game.

I also want to share some really cool Muppy fan related content, really I could only find two fan art peices, although they are large bits of animations. They are made by the same person.

If you have any Muppy fan art, I'll probably link it here too.

Muppy has appeared as an unoffical cameo and has a major role In an easter egg for Poto and the Mysterious Forest. The game is made by a good friend of mine on gamejolt and I'd highly recommend you check out their games
https://gamejolt.com/games/gamejoltraccoonicornpotoandthemysteriousforest/432354

On top of that, the creator of Poto, Racoonicorn, has done some fan artwork of Muppy's Halloween

https://gamejolt.com/@Raccoonicorn/post/a-little-spooky-fanart-for-muppy-s-halloween-epi7yhtb

I'm probably going to log out for awhile again, but I will be back eventually. Check out my game jolt page https://gamejolt.com/@SuperSkyPhoenix03

I sincerely hope you guys enjoy this new update. And I really hope you guys enjoy this update.

Edit: Just realized I forgot to keep track of what I changed. Whoops....

Update 4.0.0 Released.

I'm going to start off with a bad news good news thing, bad news first. Although I couldn't find the answer to the bug I mentioned in the last post it is a rare thing that happened, and since I can't seem to consistently recreate the glitch to see what is going on, it is unfix-able for now. Good news is that I managed to get a new stable release out! Here are the patch notes :

Multiple graphics have been updated to reflect my current(better) art skills.

Honey is now easier to access. Just click his name instead of having to press enter after clicking his name.

You can now move left or right while jump kicking.

Camera now follows Muppy when he punches/spins.

Getting stuck in the blocks in the water glitch fixed.

Trees are re-added to the grass world for a bit of extra depth.

Sunset and night backgrounds for the grass world have now been implemented.

Optional new attack button( the S key).

Muppy's gravity has been changed.

The cat boss has a red scarf instead of a green one now to better show he is bad.

Various other changes.

Edit : Just realized I screwed up with controller support on the title screen. 4.0.1 will probably fix that in its release.

Help Me Decide How The Future of This Game Will Go Please.

Update 8/9/19 : The update pretty much done. Due to some changes I made, I might have to retreat and re do the update as I'm not quite happy as it is.

Update 8/17/19 Ok, I've decided I will go back a few steps with the update. I'll likely just implement a few bug fixes instead of risking breaking the game. Sorry for the long delay, and hopefully I'll get back to it soon.

Update 8/21/19 So I realized going back would be near impossible, as I don't have any recent backups. So there is nowhere to go but forward. The release will be coming soon, after I do a few more bug fixes. There is a glitch that seems to happen randomly where Muppy speeds up super quickly and the game will just crash. After I figure out what to do about that glitch, a new major update will be released. This might be the most major update of all of the games release, so stay tuned. Also, now the voting has ended, so I will remove that link.

Original Post :

The delay is taking longer than I originally intended. The creative block is over for the most part. HOWEVER, there has been an internal debate if I should go back to an older version of the game and re import some new things. The version I was working on was saved on accident and I messed up the hitboxes badly. I'm still trying my best to fix some issues, but it will be awhile. The prototype in question is mostly complete at the time. On a side note, I think is much better than previous update I put out(or would be with a little more work)
Though in the end, I have to decide if it is a game I would like to play/work on. I'll share a slightly older "legacy build" on my Gamejolt page, and open a poll to go with it to see what you all think. The legacy is pretty different compared to what is now out here.

Here is a link to the download/gamejolt page. : https://gamejolt.com/games/MTBTDOW/295745 In the gamejolt page(be sure to click download on the Legacy build as opposed to the one that doesn't say legacy because it will download an identical build to the Steam version.

Thank you guys.

Just a warning, the music is the Legacy music before Noah allowed me to use his soundtracks. Team_Elite(1) on Gamejolt composed the title/boss music and I composed the rest, and I'm not very good at composing music, and it shows. It will be replaced if I continue the updates on the Legacy build. Hopefully you can ignore some spelling errors on the legacy version though.

A Thank You For 4,500 Units! + Delay For Updates

The recent support from you guys has been crazy recently. i really appreciate everything everything you guys have done for me. Game development for me right now is more so a hobby than a profession to me, and it is one of the things that help get me through some of the hardest times(excluding the old "The End" announcement(which after I tried some more stuff, I should probably get back into making the game)....Though there is one problem that has occurred recently and that is creative block. We all have creative blocks, but despite me having multiple recommendations that I can fix, I honestly don't feel like I can implement them good enough while that creative block is there.

Anyways, the main thing with this post is that I've got 4,500 units(which doesn't exactly mean they have recorded playtime, but I still feel as if it is cool to to show off). Thank you guys and I really appreciate it.

Edit 7/21/2019:

Ok, 5,000+ units! really cool and thank you.

On a side note, I think is much better than previous update I put out on here. However when I shared it on my facebook, not very many people thought the same. But in the end, I have to decide if it is a game I would like to play/work on. I'll share a "legacy build" on my gamejolt page, and open a poll to go with it to see what you all think. If the votes continue, I'll know what to do.

Update 3.1.2

Just dropped another update. This time I made Honey fly easier. Instead of flying by spamming the jump button, you can fly by just holding it. That is the only change, which is why the update is 3.1.2 instead of the traditional 4.0.0 I would normally do. But I feel as if Honey really needed this change. Enjoy :).

Update 3.1.1 Released

Just dropped a new update. This time adding a playable Honey.

You can play as him by going into settings and clicking the next button in the top right corner, then clicking on the "Play as Honey" text.

I honestly should have waited to show stuff off in yesterdays update. However I'm quite happy with this update.

Honey is like the easy mode of the game. He can fly through most levels with ease. Just spam that 'A' key and he will fly as long as you keep tapping the button. Honey can only go through a few levels, and skips a few worlds. Major spoilers ahead(like final boss spoilers, ignore from this point on if you don't want spoiled) If you make it to the final boss(which is a one shot, due to him being extremely overpowered) it takes you automatically to the bad ending. While that is a stupid decision to many, I set up true ending to fixate on the brotherly relationship Muppy has with Dark, and thus could not be achieved as Honey
