  • Charge attack will hit the direction as you guide
  • The HP bar will show when an enemy is locked.

EA 1.50 Ver Update Note

Hey everyone! Cat here! I'm sorry I haven't been very responsive for the last couple of weeks, I've devoted all I have to this game and still am.
Anyway, there's some result we've achieved in the recent weeks. Please enjoy!

Major updates:

  • Better performance, increased loading speed and frame per second in every scene.
  • Unlocked 2 more chapters, which is 1.5 times longer than the original EA version.
  • Optimized input lag.



Fixes and Optimizations:

  • Optimized the effect of strike.
  • Optimized UI resolution's auto detection.
  • Optimized the facial expression of most characters.
  • Optimized the outer lining of the characters.
  • Remade the tutorial, the instruction of the more complicated moves will spread on multiple pages with videos attached.
  • Fixed the text that comes out of the text boxes.
  • You can now go back to get the outfit shards.
  • Optimized the strike feedback.
  • Fixed the AOE attack bug.
  • Optimized the shadow texture in the first boss fight.
  • Fixed the attack perimeter settings.
  • Optimized the AI of the mosters.
  • Minor bug fixes.
  • Fixed the bugs that caused players unable to unlock certain achievements.


Added:

  • More skill due to that the character will unlock "Shadow Mode" after Chapter 4, which is the overdrive mode and will provide more skills.
  • Japanese subtitles and UI are now supported.
  • More camera settings.
  • A function to delete one single savedata.



Fixed:

  • UI and input system
  • Controller settings can now detect which type of controller you are using and set the buttons automatically.
  • The Camera stutter issue.
  • The weapon will be switched back to what you were using before the excution.
  • Brand new physics effects on characters.


For those who played the game before this update:

  • The button setting is completely reset.
  • You can still change the settings according to your favor.


Q&A:
Q:How to avoid stutter-
A:If your system specs just met the "Recommended" one, please use High instead Ultra.
Visually speaking, high and ultra have very little difference.

Q:How to delete the savedata completely?
A:The main savedata is a .mss file, please find it under C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\AppData\Local\Mystria\Saved and delete it.

Q:How to fix the mushy parts around the edge of the screen in high DPI screen (2K, 4K display)?
A:Right click on the .exe file of the game, click on "Compatibility" and change the DPI settings to "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and restart the game.

Q:I played the PTU version of this game, the savedata is corrupt, what should I do?
A:Thanks for helping us optimizing the game, we recommend you to delete the savedata before playing the new version.

About Test Branch and Future Updates

Hey guy,

It’s me again. I’d like to thank you for all the love, support, encouragement, criticism and feedback. I and the team now have a better understanding on how to proceed in the future.

Based on what we’ve gathered, we’d like to initiate a deeper public test, to let you know what we’re changing and adding and how we’re doing it.

After some discussion, we’ve come to a conclusion that the best way for you to participate is to start a test branch, a BETA version of the game on Steam.

Before you participate, please hear out what we have to say about it:


1. There might be unfinished UI.
2. There might be unfinished text or text that has not been localized or poorly localized.
3. Unfinished levels.
4. Unfinished checkpoints that will potentially corrupt save data.
5. Unexpected crashes.
6. The game may unexpectedly increase CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM usage, or result in severe frame rate drop.

In the meantime,


1. You’ll be able to see our future updates before the formal patches.
2. Possible update direction.
3. New systems and/or gameplay in its early stages.
4. Old levels and maps that are drastically optimized.

In a nutshell:


Participating in this Public Test will grant you the access to our latest results, but there’s no guarantee if we were to change or discard some or all of them, that means no matter the features are finished or not, we’ll pack it up and upload it to the test branch, unless there’s technical difficulties that prevent us from packing.

We hope this could make your participation in the development of this game more direct and more objective, also to show those who backed on Kickstarter that we’re going to take the development extremely seriously.

We’re update the test branch WEEKLY, and only update features or optimizations that most are content with to the official build.

How to activate BETA:


Steam Library->Right click on Mysteria~Occult Shadows~->Select Property->Select BETA->input code “InPublicTest”->click on “CHECK CODE”->Select “publictest”.

If you wish to quit BETA, just select “None” instead of “publictest”.

Thank you all of the criticism, love and support! We've gathered a ton of useful information and will start the fixing the the next few patches.

Due to the restructuring of the save data, we recommend you to delete your current save data and create a new one.
To delete the save data, please delete the .mss file under C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Mystria\Saved.

1. Optimized control input delay.
2. Significantly reduced VRAM and RAM usage.
3. Fixed the severe frame drop in the Dimentional Passage.
4. Fixed the severe frame drop during the OP video.
5. Optimized the tutorial, players should be able to learn about the controls and mechanism more easily.
6. Optimized the UI of Graphics Settings.
7. Optimized the display when picking up items.
8. Fixed the bug that caused the auto-reset to Chinese when last chose English.
9. Fixed the bug that caused display error after using the skill of Scythe: "Soul of Death".

I'd like to thank your personally for the love and support from you guys. This is the first time we make an ACT game, also the first time we release the game on Steam.

After the innitial release today we've received over 200 reviews, I'd like to thank all of you for the feedback, criticism or plain support. Due to lack or skill and resources, the EA 1.0 version is plagued with bugs and glitches. I'm sorry for the experience and the trouble.

We're gathering all advice and suggestions from every resource we can, and will put all that on our to-do list. We'll do our absolute best to optimize, fix and add new content to the game.

I've acknowledge my childishness and inadequacy during this release. But I'm will never give in. This project is like my child, I'll keep working on it until everyone is content with it.

About Early Access version, the total estimated playtime is around 2 hours. It has 4 difficulties and 3 kind of dresses which you can obtain by exploring. In this version, the game have full Japanese voice acting, fully animated CGs, 3 kinda of weapons.

We plan to complete the game in the future months. We view purchasing EA version of this game as a huge support, so we’ll reward all those who purchase the game during EA with DLCs and exclusive promotions. Also, we know our product is far, far from perfect, so we’ll need all the help we can get. If you have any suggestion or feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact us. The following is something personal I want to say.

For so long I have this dream of making a game of my own, finally this is the day. It was only a tiny tiny seed when I was a child, but it has blossom into a flower, and it’s majestic. I know these all sound stupid and childish, but they are true from my own heart.

I love games since I was very little. While other girls were playing with their doll houses and dressing up their Barbies, I was playing computer games, slaying monsters and bringing justice to the world (LOL I know right). To me at that time, game developers were beings that is closest to God him/herself. How could they build such an exquisite world that is as much alive as I am from basically nothing? That was the question I often asked myself. In a way, I wanted to be one of them since then.

In 2011, I was a pretty active user of Tieba, which was basically a forum. I tried to learn from everything and everyone I could, drawing on tablet, building models, animation, literally everything. An random occasion, I ran into this game engine called Unreal Engine 4. I didn’t know if it was easy to learn or if it’s popular, I just dived in and learned everything I can, till this day. At around the end of 2014, I made 2 demos, and released them for free on the Internet. Although there were media covering these demos, and I gained a little bit of fame. I was plain broke because those demos didn’t get me any income.

Fortunately, I got some experience from the whole thing.

At around mid 2015, I started to plan for “Forest Secret”, which was basically a predecessor of Mysteria, I wanted it to be all kemomimi girls (hey, there IS a girls side in me).

At Sep 2016, I went to university majoring in Digital Media. Since then I’ve been dedicating all my free time (and some of the bed time) to develop the game I wanted.

But guys, it’s difficult AF. I was young and full of hubris. I thought I learned everything I needed but in fact, I was like a surfer on the sea facing the tsunami. To be honest, there were time I wanted to just give up. But I pulled through, it made me a better person and showed me a whole other world, the world I need learn more about.

It was not easy, believe me, to balance among game developing, college and pressure from my family. But I met 吉祥 from Jiangnan University. 吉祥 helped me with everything, scripts and all. I’d like to thank 吉祥 for the belief, trust and sacrifice. Thank you!

Later on that year, it had finally come to this: I spent all the money I have on developing, purchasing resources and outsourcing some of the work, the project was about to halt. I went on Modian (basically a Chinese Kickstarter) for help. I was a huge success, and with that funding, I was able to meet so many people who would like to offer help. So later, we established U-Secret Studio, my very own company, and everything started to fall into its place.
But you all know how 3D ACT game development can be, it was bitter sweet. We laughed, we cried, we argued, I even smashed a few cups at the wall because of frustration.

We went on Kickstarter a few months ago with the intention to introduce the game, and people from all over the world surprised my with a 300% of goal from 1109 backer. That was the time of my life, to be acknowledged.
As I said, this game is far from perfect, and we intend to perfect it in the future.

For you guys, we’ll definitely present a game that everyone’s content with.

For belief, we’ll fight till the end!

我们开发组资源非常匮乏,核心开发者只有2个,只有我跟指树精通UE4,会综合游戏制作技术
但即使如此还是势单力薄,3DACT需要的资源真的太多了,自身烧信仰超过997的负荷,部分模型倾家荡产外包,也难以让开发进度达到预期 ,每天都在修BUG和查漏补缺炼狱中,几乎没时间更新消息

但终于即将到达游戏能见面的时候了,多年奋战许多模型之类的质量都提升了 新的截图会陆续更新

还有最后一波BUG狂肝中

EA版将提供2-3小时完整流程,全程日语配音,全动态CG,有新OP/PV本月放
[emmm没有中文配音,因为太贵了,而且剧情偏中二。实在想有后面有空制作人来个全役补丁 ]

后续流程将更新3个月左右至8-10小时主线流程
(主要就是后续缺过场动画,其他资源都完成了,过场制作速度有限)
