Content update - BOOM!

Content Update

Whenver you see an Orc, you know a goblin isn't far behind.. Following on last weeks update we've got 3 new enemies for you to add into your worlds. Ravey has also made some lockon and projectile tweaks, full patch thread >>here<<

Goblin Blaster

Shoots looping bombs, get too close and he'll give you a swift bop on the head

Goblin Bomber

The most wreckless enemy yet, will stop at nothing to take you down.

Goblin Miner

The weakest of the orc and goblin family, a bit like the orc grunt without the gap closer.

Enemy creator overview - (coming soon!)

The reason for the recent enemy updates is due to our current main task, the enemy creator. The more built in enemies we can give you, the more choice you'll have in the creator.
The creator will feature loads of new body parts to choose from (mix of our current enemies and lots of new models) including heads, arms, legs, torsos, weapons etc. All parts can be scaled up or down and recoloured. Left / Right arms and legs can be different too!

Stats can be assigned, damage, health and also choose which enemy ai and sounds are used. These can be saved out for use in your worlds, or shared on the workshop. More details will come as we push on with it.This is the first step in giving you unique control on how your worlds play and feel.

We can't give a release date just yet, but Ravey and I will be updating you in the coming weeks.

Next Week

We'll be hard at work on the enemy creator, but there will be a return to props / buildings etc in the weekly content update. I've got a big list of ideas from you all growing >>HERE<<, so any suggestions please add them there.

Have a great weekend, happy creating!

MyWorld Competition Results

Competition Results

*You hear trumpets sounding from above, perhaps you have taken one too many knocks on the head from a club skelly or perhaps it is the MyWorld Competition results!*

Yes I tried to go all RPG just then. Why? Because both Massy and myself have been blown away with the competition entries.

We wanted to play each and every one. It took us a while... a long while, but was it worth it? Absolutely!

We have seen things done with MyWorld that we never thought possible. Been on adventures that toyed with our morals. Laughed, been scared, been overwhelmed. In short we loved every moment, every carefully thought out story, every lovingly crafted world we visited.

Click the workshop link and hit subscribe to access the worlds in your workshop hub portals.

So without further rambling from me...onto the winners (no spoilers!):

Third Place:

We really felt like we were in this world, such great atmosphere, so well put together. Really enjoyed every moment.

Second Place:

Very good level design, great story line. Do NOT go through the portal! Don't do it. No. The most amazing town we have seen in MyWorld. So detailed, so perfectly designed. Really great use of multiple worlds.

First Place:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=894982361&searchtext=geez
We could not help but smile throughout this game. We fell in love with the characters (one NPC in particular!), the drama, the suspense, the non-stop giggles. Really, really entertained us. Amazing fun.

An enormous well done and thank you to everyone who entered. We had so much fun and loved every moment.

Honourable Mentions:

Sol Stones by Omnivoyance

This one made our jaws drop. The ability to attach many different things in creative ways is used to the absolute max in this game. Really fun puzzles, really engaging world. Many moments that made us think "err.. is that possible in MyWorld?". Loved it. Really well done.

The Village of Kythis

Some of my favourite visuals. Every prop and building has been carefully considered.

Wizard's End by Avatre

Like an interactive book. Get a cup of tea and enjoy the journey.

Soul of lords by MistahBoweh

Serious dark tone with good level design. Hopefully this world will be expanded in the future!

The 8 shards by TheStoryTeller

Really big world with a lot of quests, consistent level design and theme.

Ocean Heights by wasdstomp

Imaginative use of terrain for waves, etc. Some nice views!

Night Blight by Firebert

Detailed night time town, really feels like you are battling through an old overrun castle. Big packs of skellys!

Jailbreak by Hemi Soolin

Sense of dread smashing through the barricades, lots of quests to be found inside the town with some funny dialogue - love to try 'cart racing'. Good balance of collect and kill quests. The captain has a rather dirty secret :S

damn u frodo by rudisaster

Amazing world design, the twisting stairs are so cool, really clever stuff

The Inferno by IotcSalad

Really enjoying the exploring and finding the route through. I never got lost thanks to great torch placement and being advised to look out for the torches.

Newport by benjiboy

Love the water and the atmosphere of this place, I spent a lot of time standing looking out at the waves, really well put together

Total brute. He'll close the gap fast and deliver a nasty bash on the head.

The grunts angrier, armoured brother. Watch out with the leaping stun attack!

Casts attacking fire totems. There will be a defensive frosty slow totem next week too!

Restoration Shaman

Heals all his enemy pals in a radius around him. You'll have to chase him as he's bit of a wimp!

Content and Development update. New patch is live!

A new build is now live, including a whopping 34 new items to fill your worlds with and updates to loot. Checkout the images below and click >>HERE<< for the full patch notes.

Loot update

Thanks everyone for the feedback on our loot launch last week, it's been a great help. This new patch contains a lot of balancing and tweaks, which should create a better experience on venturing up in difficultly levels. Head over to the patch thread above for a full breakdown.

There has also been some visual imrpovements. The pop-up when opening a chest is a lot less intrusive and the inventory back panel has been polished up.

Content Update

Every week alongside our bigger picture tasks we strive to bring new content to fill your worlds with. If you have any prop idea's you like to see, please share them >>HERE<<
This update sees a boost to most of the editor tabs, including a new sunset 'theme' shown in the header image. The header also features a pre-made alchemy table, but there are individual potions and scrolls to be placed too!

New table types and food items, including pies and eyeballs, yum. Decorative chests and beds are also now available.

Fill your spooky woods with some 'dead' variations of existing trees and the grand 'ancient tree'.

New wall styles and wall pillars to add variation to your towns. Also 3 new gothic style 'old ruin' buildings can be seen in the header image.

Praise the sunset alongside some obelisks.

Development Update

Our new main focus is on adding a character creator into MyWorld, The character creator will initially allow you to create and share your own unique enemies and NPCs.
Customisation will include loads of body parts to mix and match from (which you can also re-colour and scale), choice of abilities, stat points, weapons, the lot! Characters can be saved out for your own worlds and shared on the workshop. During this time you'll also see new enemies that will cross over into the creator.
We'll be updating our Development plan thread early next week with further details. As always we'll be bringing you regular editor content updates alongside this.

Thanks for everyone's continued feedback on the forums, happy building and have a great weekend ːsteamhappyː

The Big Loot Update is here. Plus new knight abilities!

Loot, it's dropping!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L05Z4DYefYI
Today we bring you our first 'long term goal' since our launch, just over a month ago. Loot, and lots of it! There is 950+ rings, weapons and armour sets that have a chance to drop from killing enemies, in any world you are adventuring through. There are guaranteed loot drops from bosses.

Important note - if you go into edit mode, no more loot will drop until you go back into the selected world via the HubWorld.

Press C to bring up your inventory. Loot found will automaticaly be placed here.

Difficulty

There are now 13 levels of difficulty, set from your inventory when inside the hub world. Moonlight is the 'normal' difficulty, and the two below provide easier enemies for those that just want to build/play more casual.

Higher levels can be managed by collecting loot before moving up. All 967 items can be found in each level, so the 'Searing Blade of Xenovol' found in 'Demonblight 5' will have a lot higher stats than 'Searing Blade of Xenovol' found in 'Moonlight' difficulty. So really we have 967x13 - 12,571 items!

Hero XP now gives you a slight buff of health and stamina.

Easter Content and Development Update

Content and Development update

A new build is now live! Highlights include new content to fill your worlds, improved combat, animations and even some Easter treats ːsteamhappyː

Content

As always, alongside our longer term goals, which is currently the loot system we strive to bring you new editor items each week. This update has 15 new pieces, which includes some different style buildings, easter eggs and a chick critter! For the full list click >>>here<<<

Combat upgrade

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxHWu9EPEMI&feature=youtu.be
The latest MyWorld patch brings some big improvements to combat, where all animations and timings have been re-done to give the Knight classes a much weightier, fluid and faster response combat.

Now, rather than a warm up period for each attack, the strike happens straight away and instead has a recovering period at the end, which can be rolled out of or used to chain another attack.

Both the enemy and player have stagger resistance called "stance" which must be broken, giving the combat a much meatier feel.

The heavy attack is now a double damage dealing leaping attack. Different sub classes have their own animations to make them feel more unique.

Hitting an enemy/object now halts player momentum, so the player still gains the benefit of covering ground when attacking, but with less risk of flying past the enemy.

Loot Update

Loot is coming in a few weeks time and brings with it 13 difficulty levels, different skills and abilities for the various Knight subclasses and of course a large amount of loot to collect. Loot will be able to drop from any kill, but will always drop from boss kills. Loot comprises of armour, weapons and rings and is graded from uncommon all the way up to legendary. Loot will also drop relevant to the current difficulty level, so if the same item were to drop at a higher level, it would be more powerful.

Competition Game Length Extended!

Due to popular opinion, it seems our "tell a thrilling and deep story in 3 seconds" was slightly limiting (okay it was 20 minutes), so the "average play" length for the competition is now 60 minutes.

If you have already entered - no problem at all. You have the option to extend your game or leave as is.

Content update

Today is content update day ːsteamhappyː Full update details
Every week alongside our big picture plans, which is currently the loot system, we strive to bring you new editor content.

The update brings a new tab, rocks! Our chickens have gained a farmyard friend, Pig - found in the friendly tab.
