Weekly Update #75: Desert improvements and cinematics

Hi Fox Riders,

Last week we continued to work on finishing the game. Here's a concept art that helps us on creating a cinematic for the game.

Also, we reworked a bit some parts of the desert like the cracks that needed a bit of polish.

Here's a new screenshot of the desert. What do you think?

Thank you for reading.

Weekly Update #74: New enemy in the desert.

Hi Fox Riders,

Let me introduce you a new enemy that you wll have to fight or use to solve puzzles in the desert: The EletricEel.

That enemy generates Electricity when hit and when killed. The electricity is generated at the end of its tail. Here it is from the concept art to the final animated version.

Thanks for reading!

Have a wonderful week.

Weekly Update #73: Biomes transitions and cinematics

Hi Fox Riders,

Besides decorating the desert, we are also working on the opening and ending cinematics of the game. We don't want to spoil you too much about it until it's finished but here a little something.

Another thing that needed some polish in all biome is the transitions indicating that you are on your way to visit another part of the world. Here's an example showing you the transition between desert en forest. So, you can change your mind if you didn't want to change biome before the loading screen starts.

Below, more decor for the desert including the way we place sand. Enjoy!

Thank you for reading. I hope you liked to be spoiled a bit. Don't hesitate to join our Discord server if you want to be even more spoiled about the game.

Cheers,

Announcement: Release and next updates

Hi Fox Riders,

I hope that you are all doing well wherever you are in this world.

The COVID-19 situation affected us all personally in different ways, but it also affected the video game industry. On our side, we worked hard on Nanotale to meet our release deadline that was planned for the end October 2020. This is still something that we could reach but without the polish and testing that would require the game to be perfect. For these reasons, we decided to delay the release to early 2021.

The good news is that, meanwhile, we secured a deal with STADIA allowing us to keep some cool features that we were sad to drop earlier. Thanks to that, we’ll be able to rework some parts of the game that were confusing or seemed unfinished from your feedback.

NEXT UPDATES

That said, it doesn’t mean that we won’t release anything until the final release. Of course, we will continue to update the game with some rework on the areas and the story of the game to make it a better experience. We also plan to add the voice over, so you will enjoy a more immersive game experience.

CLOSED BETA

Moreover, we plan to do a closed beta of the final biome of Nanotale allowing some of you to reach the end of the game before the final release. We can’t say when yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we can on our Discord server.

Thank you for reading. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We want to be completely transparent with you guys!

Weekly Update #72: The desert has a long history

Hi Fox Riders,

I am really sorry for the lack of communication these last weeks. I was very busy on the new trailer of the game, and helping for the last biome, so I couldn't find the time to communicate with the outside. I hope you won't mind me too much. ːepiangelː

So, what did we do lastly? As said I work on the trailer but I can't show it for the moment since it's planned for the release of the game. But I can show you new things we created for the desert. Enjoy!

Below a concept art for a memorial you will find in the desert. Memorial of what? You'll learn while talking to people in the biome. That biome has a long history.

Here some nice 3D elements to decorate the game and a brand new screenshot of the desert.

Weekly Update #71: Desert NPCs

Hi Fox Riders,

I hope that you are doing well.

Last week we worked a lot on the intro and end cinematics of the game. I won't tell you more about this, since it would spoil you too much. We also, worked on marketing elements such as the release trailer.

And, we finished the new NPCs you'll meet in the desert. I wonder what stories they are going to share with you!

Making the clothes separately to allows more combinations.

Different NPC with all different looks.

Hi Fox Riders,

I hope that you all have a beautiful summer despite the sanitary situation.

Last week, our artists continued to do their magic on the desert making it really nice to explore. Here's a new element from the lore to discover in the 3rd biome of Nanotale.

We don't have a name for that animal yet so don't hesitate to help our writer.

Weekly Update #69: New critter for the Desert!

Hi Fox Riders,

Last week we worked on some new elements of lore from the desert. So, after the Green Jasper and the Munshain, here's the critter from the desert. Do you have ideas for his name?

We are also testing the new patch of the game. As soon as it's bug free we'll push it on Steam.

Thank you for reading!

Weekly Update #68: Bridges and lore

Hi Fox Riders,

Last week we started to work on things I can't show you, like the storyboard of the opening cinematic. But we also did some eye candy elements such as the new bridges for the desert and more element from the lore.

We also added footprints for Rosalind. It doesn't seem like a big deal but adding footprints when your character is moving in the sand really adds something to the game.
