Nanotale: Typing Chronicles

Weekly Update #83: Improvements and bug fixing

Hi Fox Riders,

How are you doing? Confinement and everything?

Last week, we continued to work on bug fixing. Here's a simple example of issues we are fixing in the game. When your game has an isometric view sometimes, you miss details like these floating rocks, until you look at it from a different angle.

Our 3D Artist Quentin published that nice video showing how he works to create scenes in Nanotale. Creating those small scenes is good for inspiration. You can use them as catalogs to see all the elements you have created. Sometimes, you just forget how many you can use, and always take the same ones.

Weekly Update #82: Menu and voice acting

Hi Fox Riders,

Last week, we integrated some voice over in the game, which means that we'll be able to show you soon how it sounds like in the game. We are really happy, since it really adds something to Nanotale. We hope to update the game with that new content before the end of the year, depending how fast are the voice actors to send us their work.

We also continued to polish the existing content, modifying the script, fixing issues in some languages, but also taking some time to polish a bit the menu of the game, making it nicer. Small details that can add so much to the overall experience.

That's it for today. Thank you for reading.

Weekly Update #81: Colorblind-friendly and polishing the desert

Hi Fox Riders,

Some returning Fox Riders from Epistory, told us years ago that they had difficulties to see the differences between some gameplay elements from the game. So, we made sure that Nanotale was colorblind-friendly. By that, I mean, that the gameplay elements and the critical path are clear and understandable. For the curious, here's a video showing you some types of colorblindness.

Last week, we continue to polish and optimize the game. Here's a short but nice video showing you the sandstorm.

That's it for today. Thank you for reading.

Weekly Update #80: Underwater feeling in the desert

Hi Fox Riders,

When we created the desert in Nanotale, we imagined that a long time ago it used to be an ocean. So, we wanted to keep the underwater feeling even if it's a desert.

Here's what it look like. What do you think? (full screen 720p helps to get it better)

[previewyoutube="aJtmZkBQX9w;full"]

And here are the original concept arts that inspired the desert (you probably already know them).

Below another concept art spoiling a little bit that last biome.

And... electricity in the desert!

Thank you for reading. As we are in the post-production step, please don't hesitate to give us feedback about what could be improved.

Cheers,
-VirginRedemption

Weekly Update #79: Small update with a shiny improvement

Hi Fox Riders,

Last week, we were mostly focused on optimizing the game, so I don't have a lot of nice visuals to show you. But, we also took a bit of time to polish the art and add things from the "nice to have" list. Here's a video showing you a bit of that polishing.

That's it folks. Thank you for reading.

Weekly Update #78: News about Closed BETA and Achievements

Hi Fox Riders,

Hope you are doing great! On our side we are still developing our games from home.

OK, so before showing you anything from the game let's talk about the coming closed BETA. We are now finishing the development of the very last part of Nanotale. Which means that we will enter a intensive debugging and polishing phase. That's the good part about the fact that we can't release until the STADIA version is ready. But, we would like to give you the opportunity to finish the whole game experience before the final release. So, if you are not afraid of bugs and want to help us to improve the game, don't hesitate to join the BETA using the link below.

JOIN THE BETA HERE

If you have any questions about the closed BETA, feel free to ask us here or on Discord.

ACHIEVEMENTS

I won't spoil you with all the achievements but here are two of them. Can you guess what they are? As we were pretty creative on Epistory we wanted to be as creative on Nanotale. And it was quite a challenge.

BONUS

Here's the beautiful diorama that our last trainee Boris did with the art from our game.

You can watch his Artstation here.

Thank you for reading! I hope that a lot of you will join the BETA.

Weekly Update #77: FX and other improvements

Hi Fox Riders,

How are you doing? Today in Belgium, we started a second confinement ːepisweatː. But that won't stop us to improve the game! So, what did we do last week? Talking about improvements, we implemented the spell FX that were missing. Can you guess what they are?

Also, I wanted to share with you the first concept art we did of the desert back in 2018 so you can compare it to the 3D desert we have now.

And here's a current screenshot in game :) What do you think about the place?

Thanks for reading!

Weekly Update #76: Implement, test, repeat.

Hi Fox Riders,

Last week, we received the localization of the last biome to implement in the game. So we will now try some testing on the languages. We are also working on localizing all the collision bugs that could occur in the desert.

More plants to decorate the desert. I know that it's a desert and shouldn't have that many plants but we also don't want it to be too empty. Also, plants can help for location.

Here's a concept art or some technological things you'll find in that biome. No more spoil.

To finish, do you remember last week's concept art we made for a cinematic? Here's a gif (sorry for the bad quality) showing you the 3D version of it. It's clearly not finished but I really wanted to share it.

Thank you for reading.

Cheers,
