v1.12 - Everything is in its Place

Dear Players,

Next year, I will be focused on making new games. This is an update, released to celebrate entering the New Year of 2020. I planned to make and release it a couple of months ago, but I couldn't find "the right time" to do it.

Almost every fixed bug was initially discovered by UNICOY, a bright person and a speedruner the world has never seen before. ;)

Change Log

1. All of the 3 endings should be accessible as intended.
2.1. Rockets you'll meet on the last level of the game now properly damage players again.
2.2. "Big Rockets" stay big if you fail to destroy them.
3. Vertical screenshake was removed, because it used to look very ugly. Horizontal screenshake is now stronger.
4. Progress on the bar should (?) be more accurate, though it may look weird.
5. An issue that could sometimes kill you upon finishing the level was resolved.
6. Weird tile on the last block in the room shouldn't appear anymore.
6.1. Obstacles can still be placed at the "finish line", but that shouldn't affect the gameplay anymore.

See you next year!

Yours forever,
Khud0

Grizzland v1.00 is now out on Steam!

Dear Players,

It has been a long and exciting journey.
Grizzland passed Greenlight 2.5 years ago and I started making it over 3 years ago!

I am finally content with its quality. Meet Grizzland on Steam!

I sincerely hope that you will have a good time on this grizzled planet! :grizzland_heart:

Yours forever,
Khud0

Hotfix v1.11

Dear Players,

This hotfix is only possible thanks to Nary's community.
(Thank you, UNICOY)

In this patch:

1. Some gamepad issues were fixed, including being unable to use the keyboard while playing on a gamepad and gamepads sometimes not detecting themselves.
2. "Unicorn Horn" no longer prevents you from using the "Dash" ability. Also, its duration has been increased.
3. Random deaths on slopes while in "Speedrun Mode" seem to no longer happen.

If you find anything that works in a weird way or is completely broken, please, report it on the Forum.

Have fun!

Yours forever,
Khud0.

Wishlist Grizzland today!

Dear community,

I am proud to announce that Grizzland will soon be available on Steam! It has gone through many changes during 3+ years in development and I am excited to share it with the world!

Grizzland is a platformer about slashing the Dinos, exploding, shrinking and breaking the game in order to learn more about the grizzled planted.

Grizzland on Steam.

Yours forever,
Khud0

v1.1 - Performance Hotfix.

After this update, you will supposedly notice an increase in FPS and general Performance on weaker PCs.

Have fun! :)

Nary v1.1

This update summarizes the Undead Edition.
All the finishing touches were added and the major bugs were fixed :)

The summary of changes:

1. You can now choose between different Controls options, both for the Gamepad and the Keyboard.
2. The Controls are now shown before the start of a level.
3. If you unpause the game while being on the ground, you will now stop for a slight moment.
4. Level end looks slightly better :D

For now, Nary is what I wanted it to be. I am pausing the active work on the project and moving back to the old projects as well as new ones.

See you all soon! :)

v1.01 - Players' Contribution!

Nary has been out for 2-3 days now and I've gathered enough feedback to come up with a new update and a few slight fixes.

This update is fully community-suggested, so I will leave nicknames/initals of the people who helped me to come up with these ideas. And I encourage you to share your ideas here :)

Here's the list of stuff done in a format "What - (Who Suggested)"

1. A Progress bar on the levels. Now you can see how close you were to the End of the level when you got your face into the obstacle. - (Originally by my GF, enhanced by a talk from Edmund McMillen).

2. Tutorial is now properly shown immediately when you first launch the game. - (Rami Ismail).

3. I haven't removed the Heads (Lives) as Rami suggested, because they play 3 important roles in the Game. But I have added +1 Head ^^.

4. "Start" button is now the default one in focus after losing, so you don't have to click 7 times to start playing again - (Ivan G.)

5. Players are now reminded to buy stuff from the Shop in the Tutorial. - (Aleksander M.)

6. The Shop should no longer cause an error under certain circumstances - (Various Players).

7. Control Remap function was removed because it stopped working. I will focus on improving and re-implementing the feature. - (Nikolay Ch.)

8. Chain-Jumping is now allowed, which also fixes the moments when sometimes players would say that "the spacebar doesn't work" - (Ostap B. and Ivan G.)

v1.02 Mini-Changes:

1. Jump / Land / Special animations.
2. More SFX variety.

See you all in the next Update! :nary_heart:

The Undead Edition is now OUT!

Greetings Players!

I'm proud to introduce the new era of Nary!
The Undead Edition update is finally out!

I have added the finishing touches to the Game and I'm looking forward to seeing your Reviews!
___________

Here's the Big List of Updates:

1. New, much more responsive Controls and Jump Mechanics.

2. A whole new Level and a specific Skill were added to the Game.

3. 3 Levels and Foes were re-drawn + the Boss was re-introduced.

4. Curses! Now Nary's Head can get one of 5 Curses that slightly modify the experience.

5. Tons of new Particles and other Visual and Sound Effects.

6. Slopes and new Obstacles were added.

7. Transformations! Players can now combine unlocked Items to turn into one of the two in-game Transformations.

8. Visual items! Some items are shown in-game now.

9. An Offer from a Stranger can now appear between the Levels and influence the Gameplay.

10. Menu and Game Start Menu are drastically changed.

11. New Modes were added + Items system was reworked.

12. I'm super sorry for that, but the old Achievements were removed and replaced with the new ones. I sincerely hate it when developers do that to the games I play, but just trust me that it was an absolute necessity.

13. The Story was completely removed because of how dumb it was, though there are now 3 interesting Endings.

14. A new Shop and its mechanics. Now Players can actually understand how to buy new Modes! :D

15. Cursor and Mouse Input were completely removed from the Game.

16. Trails were removed, now each shot has a Random one.

17. Slightly faster Loading Time that allows for generating new obstacles for each Head (life).

18. New UI and Herbs/Orbs system.

19. New Font was specifically created for the Game.

20. Loading Screen now says useful things.

21. Trophies Room is now much easier to understand.

22. Tutorial is re-introduced.

___________

And those are not all of the changes! I encourage you to run Nary and find the others for yourself ;)

Looking for things to update.

Hi,

I have been working on various IRL stuff as well as my new game lately, but I decided to dedicate some of the time to make a new Nary update.

Even though, honestly, Nary turned out to only be interesting to a small circle of people, I believe that it can be resurrected and re-introduced to the public.

The stuff that I believe should be given a rewamp:
- Overall difficulty of the game;
- User Interface;
- General bug fixing and review of the mechanics;

But the main idea of this post is that all of the above makes no sense without actual people interested in that. Thus, I ask you to write any suggestions about how the game should look like for you to re-visit it and to give it a second chance.

It can be done in this forum section.

I will make sure to consider any of the ideas.
Thanks a lot in advance! :nary_heart:

Yours,
Khud0.

Looking for your suggestions

Today I changed some descriptions for achievements so that their objectives can be easier to understand. (Proposal made by Krauvando here)

At the moment I'm a bit too busy working on my next game, learning art and tons of other responsibilities, so, unfortunately, I can't dedicate much time to thinking about "upgrades" to Nary.

However, I'm always glad to hear what you would like to see in the game and if the idea is great, I'll do my best to implement it ASAP.

Thanks in advance for your assistance! :nary_shield:
