Version 2.4.1 Long-awaited Update

Hi friends! It has not been updates. I thought the latest version was enough for now, quietly doing the final Chapter, but the summer sale gave the heat.

Because of the high interest in the game there were many players who weren't very loyal to the small bugs and increased complexity. It turned out that a lot of players can't find an inhaler at the beginning of the game. They thought the game was broken and left a negative feedback. This greatly lowered the rating of the game and we had to stop and redo some points:

1) We have redesigned the hint system. Training has become more detailed. I hope this will eliminate ambiguous moments in the game and simplify the passage. This is not one reason why we started to move towards simplifying the gameplay.

For us the most important thing is the disclosure of our story but impassable places prevent immersion in it. Now only English and Russian are temporarily available in the game.

2) The Doll Golem was also simplified. We've added camera shake and boost sound when it's approaching the player. With other bosses we've done the same.

3) We removed invisible capsules that prevented running away at the end of the second Chapter. Who couldn't pass understand what it is. We removed any obstacles in this place.

4) The mirrors incorrectly unwrapped Sasha after teleportation. This greatly complicated the game. When I change one thing another thing breaks. I noticed it too late... Now it's fixed, sorry.

5) When Sasha died for the first time from suffocation in a lighthouse the script "Knock at the door" was started and Sasha said "Who is here?" but the player didn't hear it because it was already far from his room. Fixed.

6) Sometimes the door in the lighthouse didn't open. I couldn't reproduce this bug. I died for 50 times but the door still opened. Suggested what it could be. Corrected. But not sure...

7) The daylight in the lighthouse wasn't set correctly. Fixed.

8) I added some billboards with titles of the chapters to make it clear where the previous Chapter ends and the next one begins.



And some more visual changes such as keyholes and some small bugs. I think there will be a few more updates before the final Chapter. Thank you for staying with us no matter what!

Hi everyone! We want to release a little update today!

  1. First of all, we've changed the Doll Golem music theme. I had some inspiration for that and now this music theme much better for us.

  2. We've also added a translation of some phrases that were not translated. Now it's ok.

P.S. What do you think about delete physics of the chairs? We think this ability of chairs is senseless and unused actually.

Version 2.3 Update

Yay! Finally we made a big update of two chapters. It wasn't too easy. We've faced with some difficulties that I described in previous announcements. This update is not so perfect. You can see new bugs due to the transition to a new version of the engine but we tried to check and fix as much as possible.

Please let us know about any bugs that you encounter: game bugs, translation mistakes etc. We read every comment and pay our attention to it.

Update list:

  1. Diary improvements. Tips and controls made it more friendly.

  2. Cut scene animations have been redone. They are not perfect yet: lack of smoothness and sounds, but definitely more cinematic.

  3. We have added the ability to change the controls of some keys. Who did not like the standard keyboard layout you can change it for yourself. This function will be further developed.

  4. We have completely redesigned the localization system. We have added Chinese and French!

  5. We've added a hint highlight. Now the "Zoom" mode in the game is not just for beauty but opens for you previously invisible details in the game that will help you find secret places.

  6. We have reworked some shaders, such as stone walls in the cave, Sasha's hair and so on.

  7. We have also done a lot of work on optimization. Now the game loads quickly and the FPS level is increased by recycling the light and overall visuals.

  8. Finally we added grass on the street. A trifle, but nice and more cinematic.

  9. New 3840x1080 resolution and FOV setting. This is for owners of modern curved widescreen monitors.

  10. Finally, I found a terrible bug associated with the friezes of the Doll Golem. He was stuck because if the player threw the doll into the wall, the goal was not in the area of his movement and he could not achieve it, so he began buggy... We had to temporarily remove the mechanics of Golem distraction and remove the achievement of "To throw dust in the eyes" because of its unattainability.


These are just the main updates. We fixed a huge number of small bugs and added some content. This is not the end result there will be more updates for the first two chapters.

The future updates

Friends! We haven't gone missing, we're still working on the game every day full-time. Recently there was a fatal error with unknown origin that didn't allow me build the game and I fell out of development for 2 weeks, as I couldn't to deal with it. But I\ve got a help and this problem has been resolved and now the development is in the normal mode.

What we have at the moment and what will appear in the next update:

  1. The Most important thing. It took a long time to transfer its own localization system to the one provided by the engine. I was young and stupid and didn't know that the engine has an excellent localization system that opens up new opportunities and speeds up the addition of other languages.

    The game will have 2 new languages: Chinese and French.





  2. In connection with the transition to a fresh version of the engine, the color correction is gone and I had to reconfigured it by eye. But it opened a large number of new visual possibilities, of course I tried everything. So you can always inform me: better or worse.

  3. Someone moved the inhaler :) because it is a little bit unlogical that Sasha doesn't know where is the MOST important thing in her LIFE. Obviously she must know the place where she puts her inhaler every night. Now the place is changed and neither Sasha nor the player doesn't know where is the inhaler. In parallel, I altered the cut scene where Sasha wakes up.

  4. Many users don't know, but the game has a zoom :) Because it was useless and was carrying only an aesthetic function, I decided to retain and add new function-highlighting not obvious labels/prompts that may reveal the secrets. That is now Sasha can stare and see the clues.

  5. Finally I added the grass in the yard where swings are. This is a small detail but it adds cinematography.

  6. Now I'm working on content filling and adding new animations, and of course trying to fix bugs.

My dream is to release an update before the end of March. Thank you for your support! Without it this story wouldn't have seen the light. Thanks guys!

Update to 2.2.1



I didn't make any updates for a long time, due to the fact that I had to change the engine version and the half of the game was broken. Now everything is well, it will be a major update soon.
Now I have to release a small update that solves two important bugs that prevented the normal passage.

  1. If you take the diary in Sasha's room and then try to get out of the room and die from asthma, then when you return to the room the diary was no longer open, it's not terrible, it was possible to restart the game, but actually it's not nice. Fixed.

  2. If continuously passing the second chapter and try to open the final lock, then Sasha was transferred back to the house and the attic door was open, the chapter had to replay again. I'm sorry someone who has faced it, the bug is fixed!

Honestly, I didn't expect such positive feedback about the Chapter Two. Thank you to everyone who believes in us and supports in the development phase. Successful passage!

Update to 2.2



  1. I've fixed a bug with the blanket under which Sasha is hiding, it remained in the hand and ruin the ending;
  2. The icon "details" in the diary didn't turn off, which was misleading. Fixed.
  3. Some interactive objects (Doors, clock) had no voice and subtitles when the subject is not suitable, it is also misleading. Fixed
  4. Also I've fixed spawn after killing the second boss. Sasha often came back near the boss and she killed her again.

Second Chapter Update!

Finally, the beta version of Never Again second chapter comes. In this chapter you can continue the breathtaking adventure of Sasha Anders. You can plunge again into this mysterious atmosphere and get the first key to unraveling the story.

README! If you want to continue the game from your last save, you must transfer all the files from the folder:
C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\NeverAgainAlpha_1-3\Saved\SaveGames
To the folder:
C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\NeverAgain\Saved\SaveGames


It must be done in order to transfer the old saves to a new folder, because it has changed. If you have any technical issues, write to me and I will help. But I strongly recommend you to start the game from the very beginning, to see the changes to the first part of the game (I have added a couple of achievements, you can try to get them), and without any technical issues go to the second chapter.

It is NOT the final version of the chapter: it lacks some sounds, some models that have a decorative function, and most likely you will find bugs in it.

All of this will be fixed in the coming days with your help; so make sure you let me know about any technical issues.

Fixed a number of bugs in the first chapter, among them:

  1. Death from electric switchboard (Sasha remained lying motionless)
  2. Music from main menu sometimes remained throughout the game.
  3. And other moderate bugs

In the next updates I’m going to do the follwing:

  1. Choosing of checkpoint to load the game
  2. Add some notes
  3. Add Easter eggs
  4. Add several new languages
  5. Introduce Steam Trading Cards
  6. Finish the models and add some sounds
