Milestone: exceptional unique items completed!

Nevergrind Online (NGO) hit a major milestone this week by completing the itemization of all exceptional unique items in the game. Exceptional items can be thought of as the "second tier" of items in the game suited for nightmare difficulty. Itemization is an important part of the special sauce in a dungeon crawl RPG like NGO. Robust itemization not only helps players survive challenging dungeons, but also allows them to specialize their character's build to a certain extent. Of course, once talent trees are completed, the level of specialization will be taken even further. In the end, a combination of itemization, talent trees, and other customizations will allow players to develop their hero in a way that suits their preferences!



Up next, I will focus on completing elite itemization, which are items designed to help the player survive hell difficulty. You can also look forward to a new gambling feature which will give players a way to purchase rare items in town with their excess gold! Once unique itemization is completed, I plan to add exceptional and elite sets which will make the itemization system feel more complete and rewarding!

• Exceptional unique rings, amulets, and charms can now boost a more varied list of skills. They would often roll bonuses for casters, but they can also roll bonuses for tanks and other classes, too.
