Known Oculus Touch Issue - Patch Coming Soon

Hi Everyone! A new bug in Nevermind has recently come to our attention regarding the Oculus Touch controllers. Right now, you have to press in the joystick in order to select menu items and move (which is unpleasant, to say the least).

We're in the process of resolving that issue and will release a patch as soon as a fix is in place.

    There are a couple of known issues with playing Nevermind on the Vive.

    1.) During some scene loads, the game will fade away and the standard SteamVR "VR Room" will briefly appear.

    2.) If you launch the game with both controllers on and then turn a controller off mid-game, you may experience odd behavior when interacting with an object. If this occurs, either turn the second controller back on and continue playing with it on OR quit the game and restart it with only one controller on.

  • Camera-Based Technology: Optimal Conditions
    Camera-based technology such as Affdex or RealSense can be influenced by environmental conditions such as lighting, location relative to the player, and objects in the background. If your camera-based technology hasn’t initialized after a few minutes into the game, please try the following:

    >>>Double-check to ensure sure your camera technology has a good, centered view of your face. Once the technology has initialized, you can refine your positioning further in the Options>Input screen.

    >>>Adjust the lighting in your room. Medium-strength overhead lights tend to work well. Lighting originating from the same height as your face (such as from a desk lamp) can sometimes prove to be problematic - especially if it is reflecting off of something like glasses or if a strong light falls on only one side of your face.

    >>>Ensure there are no other infrared emitting devices in close proximity of the camera technology and that reflective surfaces in the background are minimized.

  • New VR Feature: Optional Non-Click Rotation
    Many of you have kindly requested a non-click rotation alternative to Nevermind’s default click-turn or full body movement in VR. We always appreciate feedback and are happy to say that Nevermind now offers the option for non-click rotation in Options>Input!

    Please note: While we are pleased to support this feature for players who prefer it, we do not necessarily recommend non-click rotation as it may feel uncomfortable to many players. If you are prone to VR sickness, we recommend playing with the default click-turn or full body movement.

    You can adjust the speed of the non-click rotation by adjusting the “Sensitivity” slider in Options>Input.

If this occurs, either turn the second controller back on and continue playing with it on OR quit the game and restart it with only one controller on.
    We are working on resolving those issues and will post an update as soon as they’re resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime.

  • New Sensor Coming Soon: Mionix Naos QG
    You may notice that the Mionix Naos QG is displayed in Options>Sensor. Nevermind doesn’t support the QG fully yet - but likely will in our next update!

  • Camera-Based Technology: Optimal Conditions
    Camera-based technology such as Affdex or RealSense can be influenced by environmental conditions such as lighting, location relative to the player, and objects in the background. If your camera-based technology hasn’t initialized after a few minutes into the game, please try the following:

    >>>Double-check to ensure sure your camera technology has a good, centered view of your face. Once the technology has initialized, you can refine your positioning further in the Options>Input screen.

    >>>Adjust the lighting in your room. Medium-strength overhead lights tend to work well. Lighting originating from the same height as your face (such as from a desk lamp) can sometimes prove to be problematic - especially if it is reflecting off of something like glasses or if a strong light falls on only one side of your face.

    >>>Ensure there are no other infrared emitting devices in close proximity of the camera technology and that reflective surfaces in the background are minimized.

  • Device Cross-Compatibility:
    Many of our devices are compatible with each other. However, some devices are mutually exclusive. Please visit www.nevermindgame.com/tech for the most up-to-date list of device cross-compatibility/incompatibility details.

  • Windows 7 Support:
    Nevermind is playable on Windows 7, although it is not fully supported. Windows 7 users may experience some instability.

  • Mio LINK Users:
    Mio Link Bluetooth connectivity works only on Windows 8, 8.1, and 10. To pair a Mio LINK with a Windows 7 machine, please use an ANT+ USB stick.

  • Companion App:
    To support non-RealSense heart rate devices (e.g. The Mio, Garmin Chest Strap, etc.) on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, & 10 environments, Nevermind makes use of a small companion app called the Nevermind Heartrate Companion. This companion application is opened and closed by the game, and can be found as a taskbar icon next to the clock during play. This companion application uses network protocols to communicate with Nevermind. Because of this, the companion app may cause a security warning on Windows and/or some anti-virus software. We assure you this companion app is completely safe, and you can allow it access to the system's network. There are currently no plans or means to support Bluetooth heart rate devices on Windows 7.

  • Note: Windows 32-bit
    Nevermind does not officially support Windows 32-bit machines. That said, we do try to ensure that the experience can run on 32-bit machines. If any Windows 32-bit players experience any instability after this update, please let us know. You can always email us at support@nevermindgame.com
