    • This change was neccesary to make the NEW ANIMATIONS work
    • Note: The old mannequin will still appear in some places.



Changes



  • Updated core to latest version of Unity
  • The loading screen for Nightmare will now display a random string of letters and numbers instead of the default loading text
  • Tasks in Nightmare will be displayed as a random string of text like the loading screen
  • Added text that gives better direction to where the roof is on Prologue
  • Made changes to the factory to aid the new mannequin navigation system
  • The pause menu will now take up the entire screen
  • Big boy change right here -> Game's name will now be changed from Nightly Maintenance: Malcom's Story to simply Nightly Maintenance. This decision was made because, originally, the game was supposed to be in a series and that idea was scrubbed. Plus, just saying Nightly Maintenance is a lot more catchy :). This will be noticeable in short bursts.


Fixes



  • Fixed a bug where the night would fail if you paused the game while the phone was ringing
  • No more being Jesus on the roof of Prologue
  • Fixed a bug where Prologue was marked as completed for all players

Beta Tester Flair now available!

Launch the game on the beta branch to get a permanent user flair :)


Note: If you have trouble getting the beta flair, relaunch the game a couple of times and make sure you are on the latest beta

If you have not learned yet, you can play the beta for the full release of Nightly Maintenance under the beta tab of Steam. I upload a new beta every time I do something significant. It's a great way to test out features before they are released and help me fix things that need to be fixed. Join the discord to help me fix things!

General changes and fixes | V0.5.1

Hi all,

I have been wanting to wait to release these fixes and changes for the 1.0 update, but I realized how broken the game actually is so below you'll find a lot of changes and fixes!

New



  • Added more videos to get more feel of what's happening. In other words, less choppy scene changes.


Changes



  • You will now see all menu options even if you have not unlocked the option yet
  • The oil lantern now has to be lit to see and blown out to avoid the mannequin
  • Death screen will now say "Petrified!" instead of "You died!"


Fixes



  • The stars will no longer show up on menu screens
  • Fixed an issue regarding animations by capping framerate at 120 fps
  • Fixed multiple issues regarding Quickplay
  • Fixed an issue where the mannequin would not move on Nightmare
  • Fixed an issue where the lantern did not contribute to you being in line of sight
  • Fixed Brendan's bug (Mannequin would get confused when you'd get fancy switching between lights)
  • Fixed a issue where you could run off the roof on Prologue

Hello everybody!

I have not forgotten about you guys and I hope you haven't either. I owe you guys a little update as it has been a while since I've active on the game. Let me start off by saying NIGHTLY MAINTENANCE HAS NOT ENDED :)! I have just been taking alittle of a break to take care of myself and my life and focus on studies. I will finish this game if it kills me haha! I have started the development again, but please do not expect updates to be put out briskly.

I have also joined a new project and will be helping them with their project as well.
