NIGHTSIDE UPDATE 4
(and the biggest one to date) is live! Here are the main additions to the game:
- 1V1 MULTIPLAYER
- Stronger AI on Medium and Hard difficulties
- Improved overall graphics
- New sound effects on units abilities
- New music tracks
- Several gameplay issues fixed
Additional notes:
- This update took a little longer due to the content that was added but now we're going back to our weekly updates
- There are a few bugs in Multiplayer that we'll address with a small update in the following days - please give us feedback on any issues you find
- There is no narration on the Story missions yet, just the missions and the introductory cutscene

NIGHTSIDE CONTEST 1

NIGHTSIDE UPDATE 3
Hello everyone!
Nightside update 3 is now live and here are the new additions to the game!
* 3 new unit abilities (1 for each race)
NOVA
DISABLE WEAPONS - can be activated by the STAR unit (must by researched at the Drone Factory) – the Star creates rays that disable up to 5 enemies' weapons for a certain period of time
YX
BOOST WEAPONS – can be activated by the VECTOR unit (must be researched at the WAR TECH facility) – the Vector will boost all nearby units' weapons damage by 30% for a certain period of time
HUMAN
VORTEX – can be actived by the MOTH unit (must be researched at the LABORATORY) – the Moth creates a Vortex that attracts all enemy fire for a certain period of time
* 2 new 1v1 maps, medium and large sizes
* 3 new music tracks (1 for each race)
* added map size labels in the versus AI menu
* the already explored areas will now have a "mapped terrain" effect in the game world (different for each race)
* added shield bars in addition to the existing HP bars
* drag selection on an a group of units containing extractors/collectors/gatherers will no longer select the extractors/collectors/gatherers
* Options are now also available in the in-game menu
* Added the following gameplay options:
- camera sensitivity
- Health/Shield bars on/off
* added tooltips to all hud icons (abilities, quick select buttons, etc.)
* added "resources depleted" on screen message
* fixed some hud display issues on 16:10 and 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions
* fixed an issue with the game running on 32-bit systems

Hello everyone,
The second update for Nightside is here!
Here are the new additions and improvements:
* more challenging AI on all difficulty levels
* "modular" HUD - only the necessary parts of the HUD will be displayed on-screen (e.g. if nothing is selected only the minimap, timer and control groups will be displayed)
* explored areas will now be visible on the minimap (next update will also bring an effect on the explored terrain in the game world)
* 1 new 1v1 map - large size, as requested by the community
* tuning on all the three races to differentiate their play style even further
- NOVA now has a speed bonus
- YX now has a vision bonus
- HUMAN now has a resilience bonus
* implemented YX Cells cap (limited to max 80) as the performance can drop when having many unused Cells

NIGHTSIDE UPDATE 1
Hello everyone!
We just released our first weekly update of Nightside. Here are the new features that were added to the game:
* added 3 new abilities to the scouting units for better map exploration:
- the Nova SCOUT unit can now launch detector Light Drones (researchable from Mothership)
- the YX RECON unit can now initiate Scanner for longer range detection (researchable from Mastermind)
- the Human PROBE unit can now drop detector Torches (researchable from fortress)
* a new 1v1 map has been added
* resources batches now have 2700 units instead of 2000
* unit/building information has been added to the hud (hp, dps, speed, shield)
* when creating control groups small numbers will be displayed next to the unit/building's health bar
* abilities countdown graphics - the player can now see how much time is required until the ability is available
* the camera can now be further zoomed in or out
* camera can now be panned by holding middle mouse pressed
* added race names in versus AI/Training menus

NIGHTSIDE EARLY ACCESS LAUNCH
Hello everyone!
Nightside Steam Early Access is now available!
Here are the main features that will be available in this first version:
* Graphics are 90% complete
* Gameplay mechanics for all the three races featured in the game are 90% complete.
* AI opponents are implemented for all the three races and AI mechanics are 75% complete
* The player can play 1v1 battles against AI opponents (three difficulty levels are available)
* Four 1v1 levels are available for playing against the AI (also will be used for 1v1 multiplayer later)
* Three “Training” missions are available (1 for each race) that can help the players get used with the game mechanics.
* DRM free
After this initial release we will follow with often updates with improvements and fixes (most probably weekly updates). The first major update will include local and online multiplayer and we estimate it will be delivered at the end of April 2015.
Final release is currently set for 31st of July 2015 and will add the following features:
* Story driven campaign mode featuring 13 missions
* Local and Online Multiplayer for 2-4 players with both ranked and unranked modes
* 4 additional 1v1 multiplayer levels
* 4 2v2 multiplayer levels
* 9 additional units special abilities (3 per race)
* Spectator mode for multiplayer matches
