Nimbus INFINITY Update: Mission 10 Boss Fight Fixes

Hello, this is Pawee from GameCrafterTeam.

Today's update focuses on optimizing the game's design and addressing bugs encountered during the boss fight in Mission 10. These adjustments aim to stabilize and enhance the frame rate, reducing the load on less powerful PCs. While this update might seem minor, it should, in conjunction with the recent improvements to Mission 9, provide a smooth gaming experience from start to finish, free of major frame rate issues.

We encourage players who paused their journey due to bugs in Missions 9 and 10 to revisit the game. We believe that these recent updates will make Nimbus INFINITY an enjoyable and uninterrupted adventure from beginning to end.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Nimbus series. As always, your feedback is welcome, and we are committed to addressing any issues that arise. Your input is invaluable to us.

Performance Enhancements and NPC Behavior Fix - 'Kaga Kai San' Release

Hi, Pawee here.

This update should significantly improve the game's performance. Also, we've just detected a glitch in the NPC ships' behavior that makes them rotate uncontrollably, so we've also fixed that.

The code name of this update is "Kaga Kai San".

19 December 2023 - Kaga Kai Ni

I have a very hard time getting rid of two things: first, the cockroaches in my house, and second, the bug we're patching out today.

This is another attempt to fix the bug in Mission 7 where the game does not end after the last wave is eliminated, following its recurrence in recent testing. I hope we successfully eliminate it this time.

The codename of this update is "Kaga Kai Ni," and the date is December 19, 2023. You can check it out in the main menu.

Performance & AI Enhancements, Sound Remix Update

Hello there,

Since the recent engine update, we have observed a significant drop in mission 9's frame rate, which appears to have been exacerbated. Our internal testing conducted a few weeks ago revealed that it was more severe than anticipated. Consequently, we have diligently worked to identify the cause and address the problem. We successfully resolved the issue yesterday, and today's patch aims to rectify the configurations that were adversely impacting the game's performance.

Hence, the latest update should substantially smoothen the gameplay experience in mission 9 and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience and negative experiences you may have encountered. Additionally, we have upgraded the AI behaviors of enemy ISA destroyers in the same mission, making them more intelligent and challenging to defeat. These changes are designed to improve overall enjoyment and engagement during the mission.

Note that the system impacted in mission 9 is also used in mission 5. Consequently, the changes made should improve the framerate and smoothen gameplay experience for mission 5 as well.

We have also adjusted the sky rendering setting in missions 7 through 11 to reduce the strain on your GPU, resulting in further FPS improvement.

Furthermore, we've re-tuned and remixed all sound effects in the game to vary in loudness based on distance, providing a more sensible and less frustrating audio experience.

Regarding sound, you may have questioned why space battles feature sounds similar to those on Earth. Lore-wise, the battle's space environment might contain trace gasses that allow for minimal sound transmission. The speakers inside the Battle Frame then amplify the volume, aiding the pilot's situational awareness. While we hope this explanation addresses your curiosity, a certain degree of suspension of disbelief may still be necessary.

Thank you for supporting Nimbus INFINITY. We hope that this update will result in an overall much better gameplay experience for all of you.

"Kaga" patch: auto-aim bug fix and more anime like missile trail effect

Hello, Pawee here.

There was a bug, at least since the previous patch, where the player's Battle Frame would auto-aim with lead aiming at a locked enemy, even if the enemy was outside the weapon's auto-aiming circle - this bug has now been fixed. This is the reason why today's patch is out.

By the way, I've changed the missile's trail effect to a ribbon style for a more anime-like aesthetic and in the hopes that it will increase rendering performance.

I've been informed of another bug that creates serious performance issues in a certain part of the game while this patch was in testing in the beta branch this morning, so I'll go fix that and patch it out in the next update.

The current build's codename is "Kaga". I hope this game's update will improve the playing experience for you all.

Emergency hot fix for possible critical bug

Hello, Pawee here.

This small update serves as an emergency hotfix for a potential bug where a specific type of enemy turret may have been invincible in the previous version of the game. We are uncertain if this issue was present in the last update, but upon discovering it in the game's SDK, we wanted to ensure it was not in the released version.

Thank you for playing Nimbus.

We've released an emergency patch to address a critical bug in the multi-lock missile system from our recent update.

Additionally:

- The missile's trail effect has been optimized to be gentler on the GPU.
- We've also improved the terrain's surface rendering for better performance.

With these changes, the game should run smoother and with fewer bugs.

This update is codenamed "Akagi Kai Ni". The patch date displayed on the main menu is 31 October 2023.

Thank you for your support!

Minor update: Akagi Kai patch

Hey there, it's Pawee.

Today, I worked on improving the game by redoing the lighting for the survival mode map. I'm excited to share this small update with you, codenamed "Akagi Kai."

See you later.

We're moving to Unreal Engine 5!

Hello, this is Pawee from GameCrafterTeam.

It's been a few months since our last update, but we're excited to announce that we've now successfully transitioned to Unreal Engine 5! To accompany this, we've also made several improvements to enhance the game's performance, reduce resource consumption, and reduce the overall load on both the CPU and GPU.

To achieve this, our first step was to optimize the bullet management system, ensuring that the frame rate no longer dips during intense firefights.

Our goal was to minimize the overall GPU load to ensure a smoother gameplay. Hence, mission 1 and 7 in particular should noticeably benefit from these improvements, allowing for a much more enjoyable experience.

In general, PCs that previously struggled to run our game should be able to do so with ease now. Besides the frame rate issues, we've also made additional refinements, including balancing the volume of new sound effects for a more immersive experience.

Regarding gameplay balance, we've made a major change by equipping ships with shotguns instead of flak turrets, significantly increasing the threat, as it now employs the same shotgun as the S-47 Berkut. The giant floating turrets have also been refitted with a new 75mm rapid-firing railgun, aptly named the Archer Rapid Fire System, or ARFS for short.

You'll notice that the current patch is dated today, October 25, 2023, and the code name for this build is "Akagi."

While this may seem like a minor update judging from the length of the patch note, it's actually a significant overhaul involving not just an engine upgrade but comprehensive game adjustments. The keybind issue should be fully resolved, and if you encounter any lingering problems, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for assistance.

Happy gaming!
