No Time to Relax
Update 0.9.5 (Bug-fix Update 2)
We got some bug reports through the In-Game Feedback. People were sometimes getting stuck in multiplayer because of the tutorial overlay. We will try to fix bugs like this as fast as possible. We recommend you to send us as detailed feedback as you can, as it helps us to fix things quicker. Thanks for helping us squish those bugs!!
Fixes
Tutorial disabled by default in Multiplayer.
The "Pay Rent" letter in the Bank sometimes got stuck in Selected state.
Update 0.9.4 (Bug-fix Update)
We've been hard at work fixing bugs and here is the fruit of that labor. It's not a huge update but we wanted to keep a regular update schedule. We will have some cool new features soon™.
Fixes
The CPU player menu bug has now been fixed.
A bug where players were sometimes unable to join lobbies through invitations was fixed.
Those little UI animation bugs that would show up in windowed mode have now, thankfully, been fixed.
Buttons could sometimes get permanently highlighted in online multiplayer matches. That has been fixed!
A bunch of little bugs we found but decided not to tell you about. They shall forever be our secret shame.
Early Access launch and update v0.9.3
Game Launched
Finally, our game is now available to the general public! We've been working hard for the past year to get to this point. The game is stable and fully playable but we still feel it needs a little more pizzazz. That's what the next few months will be about. We want to hear from you what might make No Time to Relax an even better experience.
New Features
CPU Player: You can now challenge the computer to a mind-bending game of No Time to Relax. At the moment you can't add a CPU player when playing online though. This option might be added later on.
Weekend Activities: Added more and finished removing all Placeholder text in game.
Bug fixes: We fixed a lot of bugs, oh such bugs did we fix!
Upcoming
A lot of powder went into getting the CPU player ready for launch. These are the features we'll be tackling next.
Special Objectives: This is the next big feature. We want to add the option of playing with random objectives. These give points at the end of the game. Objectives such as: Furthest Distance Walked, Longest time spent naked or Eat 10 packs of fries. We'll share more about this feature as soon as we something more concrete to show.
Localization: Our priority when it comes to localization is Chinese, German and Japanese. Other languages might follow (we promised Zelastion to translate the game to German and by Gods we will).
Single Player & End Screen: Like we've said before we are unhappy with the single player experience and want to make it better. We also want to do another run on the End Screen and Winning screen for multi and single player.
Better Tutorial: The current tutorial feels too much like a wall of text. We'll look into polishing it.
Polish: Our task board is full of big and small polish tasks. We'll be tackling these in conjunction with other tasks. E.g. we are adding a special Robot body for the CPU player. This might make him unstoppable.
Weekend Activities: Our artists have been working hard on new Weekend Card art. We'll be adding these in the next update. We also have a barrel of monkeys armed with typewrites writing out fun words for you to read (for the new cards and the ones already in game).
Balancing: We've tried to tweak the game to be both fun and challenging. We feel we've done a good job of it so far but there are still knobs that need tuning.
Known Bugs
There are bugs in game we know about but did not have time to fix. You can read about them here... please don't mock us because of them.
CPU & Menu: Entering the main menu while the computer is playing might cause it to go haywire. This will be fixed ASAP but shouldn't affect you if you just go into the menu on a human player's turn.
Online Multiplayer: We've yet to catch and react correctly to everything that can go wrong in the online portion of the game. As such you might run into some bugs there. If you do, we'd love to hear about it!
Windowed Mode: Our UI whisperer did all of the menu animations in full screen and didn't test them out in windowed mode. He has brought shame upon his UI family. He has promised to test each and every animation in windowed mode and fix them.
Resolutions: The game is fixed to run in a 16:9 aspect ratio (like 1920x1080 or 2560x1440). We've tried to hard code this as best we can for all weird and different screen sizes. If you run into problems running it on your screen the let us know!
Grammar: The game's text has not been proof-read yet. If you find any errors then let us know and we'll give you a No-Prize.
Beta Version 0.9 aka Multiplayer Mayhem
New Features
Online Multiplayer: This is the big one! After blood, sweat and tears we can finally turn on online multiplayer. You and up to 3 individuals can play together over the Internetz.
Weekend Activity Balancing: We went through all of our weekend activities and tweaked them to make more contextal sense. We'd love to get some feedback on how they feel now.
Lots of polish work here and there: Assets, animations and texts here and there
All graphics assets were overhauled: We removed unused assets, shrank some, changed compressions and file formats and optimized our sprite sheets. All of this together shrank the game by about 100 mb and makes the game lighter to load and run.
We updated our project to Unity 2018.3: The game is now compiled using the Roslyn compiler. If you run into any weird problems we'd really like to hear from you.
There is now a Feedback button: We added a Feedback button on the bottom right of the Main Menu. You can now send us direct feedback!
Added backers to About Screen: All the backers that filled out their Kickstarter survey are now listed on top of the About Screen in Settings.
Resolution settings: There were some bugs with our resolutions settings. These should be fixed now.
Backer items and events: We've added the backer events and items we've created in conjunction with our backers.
Bug fixes: Loads of little bugs, but there are more so if you find any then let us know!
Upcoming
CPU Player: Now that Online Multiplayer is up and running our next big feature is the ability to compete against a player made from bits and silicon.
Weekend Activities: We'll continue to add new weekend activities.
Single Player & End Screen: We are still unhappy with the single player experience and want to make it better. In connection to that we want the end screen to make more sense. We will also do another polish run on it.
Better Tutorial: The current tutorial feels too much like a wall of text. We'll look into polishing it.
Beta version 0.8.3 update
We've been working hard on the game since our last update. Online multiplayer is almost ready to go live and should be included in the next update.
A lot of our time has gone into getting multiplayer up and running. Having to restructure our code in several places broke the single player game. We thus have been unable to get a new update running until now. Sorry for the wait!
New Features
New Music Tracks: We added several new music tracks to give the game experience a little more variance.
Investment Indicator: Investments you have already bought are now marked with an indicator.
Fridge: You can no longer buy food for more than 4 weeks at a time.
New SFX: Added new sound effects to various parts of the game.
Sales: Items in the Appliance Store and Mall can now go on sale (indicated with a %).
Job Availability: Jobs are not always available, forcing you to rethink strategies or return later.
All Avatars Shown: Avatars for all participating players are now shown at the same time.
Balancing: Jobs have gone through balancing and requierments have been simplified. Item prices have been tweaked.
Performance: We identified and fixed a few things that were causing the game to slow down.
Bug Fixes: We fixed several small, medium and large bugs.
Multiple Controllers: Fixed a bug where the game didn't detect more than one controller at a time.
Appliance & Furniture Changes: Appliances and furniture now give happiness and/or health over a period of time. To begin with we are presenting the amount to players through a weekend card.
Culture Changes: A cultural event now replaces your weekend activity, giving its bonus then.
Weekend Activities: Several new weekend events added to the game.
Stress Indicator: We added an indicator to show if your stress is going up or down in the Player Info screen. The asset is temporary but should make it more clear what's happening with stress.
Clerk replies: Added more clerk messages and replies to clarify some actions.
Easter eggs: Added to game (happy hunting)
Upcoming
Weekend Activities: We'll be going through all of our weekend activities and balancing them to make sense in your current context. I.e. when you have little or no money your activities should reflect that (e.g. Stayed at home and counted oatmeal). We'll also be adding several new activities to the game, including backer events as we get ideas and feedback from our backers.
Online Multiplayer: We'll prepare and upload a build with multiplayer as soon as it is ready.
Victory Screen: A second iteration of the victory screen. Polish work and have it make more sense when playing a 1 player game.
Closed Beta v0.8 Released
We are overjoyed to launch our closed beta today! We hope you all enjoy our little labor of love and are looking forward to hearing what you think about the game.
Notes for v0.8
Planned features
Multiplayer was planned to release this month but as is often with the best laid plans of mice and men we are still working on it. It's a priority right now and should launch in the new year.
Single player competition against the computer player has come along way but is currently secondary to Multiplayer.
About screen and credit list will be added soon!
We recently did an overhaul on job requirements which skewed some jobs and their requirements. We are working on new ideas but also want feedback from our testers.
More music tracks and sound effects.
Many, many more weekend cards.
Known Bugs
Multiple controllers don't work on the same machine. You can play with a single controller and a keyboard and/or pass around a single controller.
Game text has yet to be proof-read.
Indicator for already bought Investments is missing.
Gameplay settings have been disabled for your convenience.

Finally we wish you all a merry holiday and a happy new year!

Our little Kickstarter campaign has finished successfully!
