I have applied a patch which rectifies a number of crashes in game, hopefully it should result in a much smoother play experience..

Also applied a patch which would cause some of the stats page to show up incorrectly

Update 2.0 - Pickups Patched!

2.0 - Pickups Patched!

Hey, how's it going guys?

So this update is more of a fix & upgrade rather than a new feature

People have informed me that pickups are confusing because there's no clear indication of which item goes into which slot and to be fair they were completely right but today is a step in the right direction to addressing this

Now when you try to pickup an item that uses a slot that is already in use, an X will appear on the item and the relevant slot it uses will begin to flash to indicate the slot it uses, then you can either unequip the item to pickup the item or leave it based on your own preference


New Upgrade:

Bat Meat Shops!

Similar to weapon and potion shops, bat meat shops sell you various types of meat to heal you, restore mana or restore stamina or maybe all of them!


Other Changes:

Random weapon shops added, rather than dagger only shops or greataxe shops, some shops will now sell you daggers, swords, greataxes

Random potion shops added, same as above

Lots of incorrect pickup bugs addressed, all keybinds should work right now

Shops now address you based on the kind of shop you have entered

Fixes:

Tuned up some of the hitboxes, this is a long process of fine tuning and will continue to be tuned

Pesky physics bug considered fixed! :squirtyay:

So this is quite a small yet huge change because so far No Turning Back has used the concept of a random selection each time you play but people didn't seem to like the random option so i have decided to add a character select screen

You can also see the classes that you have not unlocked yet and it tells you how to unlock via tool tips

You can access the Character Selection by clicking on the button below the character portrait

Update 1.8 - Scriptures & Lost Skills!

Hope you guys had a great weekend and are enjoying the steam sales! :golden:

So this is a cool update for you guys, it adds some new passives and skill upgrades which you have to unlock throughout the game and are permanent to certain skills & characters

So what are Lost Skills?

Lost Skills are ancient skills for your order and can be obtained from various locations from the castle and are permanent once you have unlocked them, i don't want to give them all away because discovering them is part of the fun but some are pretty powerful and can change how effective certain classes are for your playstyles

I'll give one away, you can obtain a Lost Skill that teaches you how to set your shield bash skill on fire and ignites all enemies in front of the player upon the use of shield bash

You can access your selection of Lost Skills from the character menu, it has replaced the randomize class option which has been moved underneath the player portrait

Currently you can obtain rare ancient scriptures from chests and secret rooms in the game, there will be another way in 1.9 ;)

I will be adding more Lost Skills in future updates, just got to find them first. oh yes i went there! :D:

This is a small update for you guys today but an important one, i have added a much requested feature, the ability to change your key bindings!

I have had to replace the Order page for now but it will be coming back in later updates when i get more functionality incorporated

So people with alternative keyboard layouts should be able to make the game feel a lot more comfortable

You can access the bindings page underneath the Enter game button

To change your key binding, click the binding you wish to change and then tap the key you want to change it too

Update 1.6 - Chapters Of Permanent Change!

Sorry this one is a little late guys but it took a lot of work to get it all running correctly and doing a first pass on balancing for it

This is a huge change and will require a lot more balancing before it's perfect, i will need your feedback and suggestions on this one guys :)

Major Feature Added:

Chapters Of Permanent Change:



These chapters are special rare books that can permanently change the stats of all the characters of your order, now these stat changes are not weapon or playthrough specific and will be with your character until you hit the new "RESET" button on the main menu,

Each book has a positive and a detriment, it's all about how you want to build your playstyle, if you want to go be a glass cannon, you could go for more damage boost at the loss of max health, or maybe you want to tank and do less damage, again these are all viable options

How to earn Chapters:

Puzzle rooms on floor 1+ will reward a chapter upon completion and you can also obtain them uncommonly from relic rooms on Floor 2+

There are currently 15 Chapters and they stack so you can find more of the same ones, now it is possible to ruin your character so be careful and remember if you do make some bad decisions and you're unhappy with your build, just hit the new "RESET" button on the ESC main menu in game

Coming Soon: (Key Mapping) This is what i am working on for 1.7, it's something i have been meaning to add since early access launch

In update 1.7 there will also be some more chapter variants

Massively reduced physics simulation overheads, should help reduce the crashing from collision interactions

Today we are taking a look at update 1.5 and what it brings to the game!

Features Added:

New Room Type: Puzzle Room!



There's a new room type which contains statue's setup in a particular order, you have to make all the statues stick their swords out but they have to be done in a certain order, you get 3 attempts

On the first statue, if you get it wrong it will not count towards your 3 attempts, if you the combination right then you will have the chest unlocked and items will be available to pickup

How to activate a statue: Approach the statue and press V


Coming Soon: (Puzzle Room Variants)

In update 1.6 there will be hard variants of the puzzle rooms which spawn enemies when you get the combination wrong

It's time for update 1.4, sorry it's late guys, this was supposed to be released on Friday but full day of work on Saturday so i had to postpone it!

Features Added:

Buff Potions!

I have added 4 new types of potions that aid you greatly if you manage to get your hands on them and of course they are procedually generated

Potion Types:

Potion of Atk Speed
Potion of Atk Power
Potion of Run Speed
Potion of Protection

When you pickup one of these potions, it can last between 1 - 5 room transitions and it's pure luck as to the chance of this

They are dropped by Chaos Skeletons and Wraiths, which brings me onto a new enemy that has been added to Floor 1, the wraiths are a tough enemy for all melee fighters because they do not get knocked back by normal attacks so be careful

These items can also be found in locked unique rooms


New Bat Meat Variants Added!

Now you can find raw bat meat that can heal your HP & ST or HP & MP or if you're lucky to get a prime bat steak it will heal all HP, MP & ST for a procedural amount

Fixed a bug that caused items dropped in the home base to instantly dissapear

Update 1.3 - Meat's Back On The Menu!

It's time for update 1.3 and in this update we are bringing in a few important new features, let's have a look

Important Feature Added:

Doors to next tier floors:

When you get to level 2 you will randomly come across a new door type which is completely distinguishable from the other doors, if you enter this door it will take you from the ground floor of the castle to the first floor and the enemies will go up in difficulty a notch (coming soon new creatures)

When you get to level 4 you can find the door again and it will take you to the second floor and again the enemies will go up a notch,

When you get to level 6 the same again but you will go to level 3


New Feature:

Cooking!



The frame work for cooking has been added, cooking in NTB is similar to using potions

Currently when you kill bats, sometimes you will get raw meat which will go into your pocket slot M when you press F, if you're near a fire press M and you will start cooking the meat (outside combat), once it's cooked it will drop as cooked meat that you can pickup and use with Q in battle
