Hello vikings! Here’s a new Nordic Ashes update. This time we’ve focused on new Yggdrasil knots plus a few improvements thanks to your comments.
Yggdrasil
You will find 9 new upgrades in your tree. With this, Yggdrasil will be complete. Here’s a screenshot of how it will look like:
Improvements
Daily Challenge improved. Talkôr day won’t have health Yggdrasil upgrades anymore as they wouldn’t work anyway.
Yggdrasil enhancement: you will now be able to add or remove Yggdrasil upgrades with left or right click of your mouse (this will also work this way on the Daily Challenge Yggdrasil).
Alruna's ascension images updated.
Character selection panel: you can now select the character's weapon usign the mouse.
Bugs
The crash some users were experiencing during a run should be fixed now.
In Vanaheim, cloud props would hide part of the shrines in some cases.
There was a bug where if you just obtain something from a shrine and at the same time you were transported to Gnöki’s realm, you wouldn’t get the relic.
Minor texts format corrections.

We're back after a few days off :D While we develop Asgard we will also update every week with some content, mostly QoL.
On today's update you will find the following:
Difficulty
We’ve been working on optimizing early stages difficulty. This way new players won’t find the first realms too hard and the learning curve will be much smoother. This will apply to Midgard, Alfheim, Svartalfheim and Jotunheim.
Another realm that was too hard in comparison to the rest was Muspelheim, so we lowered their HP and speed. If it still feels decompensated, please let us know.
Minimap
Structures are now shown in the mini map from the beginning of the adventure. This means that the Yggdrasil slot that upgraded this feature will be removed. This will help new players learn there are many areas you can interact with. And it’s also a good aid for any player!
Ascensions
You will now be able to ascend relics WHENEVER you want. They no longer have to be level 10. We believe this will make runs more fun and flexible.
Disclaimer: remember R.E.S.E.T. relic will reset your weapons back to level 1 when ascended. This means that, while owning R.E.S.E.T. during a run, if you reach level 10 and ascend your relic, it will have a total of 20 levels (nothing changes here). But if you ascend at level 3, your relic will only have a total of 13 levels.
Other Improvements
Relics that do not synergize with those you own or your character can get in their constellation, will not appear in the shop or on shrines. For example: if you don’t have any thunder relics, passive relics related to thunder will not appear. This will happen as long as there are enough relics in the pool. If not, they will begin to appear.
Gold mine shrine visually upgraded.
UI changes on how many seeds you have in exchange for leaves in the Yggdrasil panel.
UI changes related to the Constellation.
The distribution of xp between regular mobs and elites has been homogenized in wave 1 to make leveling up easier.
Bugs
Yggdrasil tree leaves should not reset anymore.
In some cases, if doing a Daily Challenge from a realm you had not yet unlocked, many achievements were unlocked when they shouldn’t.
Axeldör’s Thunder Armor 1st ascension was not working properly.
Alfheim explosive slimes telegraph was not working properly.
Alfheim saplings telegraph was not working properly.

Today we have a few improvements, challenging levels and a surprise we're sure you'll love!
Ragnarok Mode
Ragnarok levels will be available for all realms! We had the following left: Ragnarok I-VII in Niflheim and in Muspelheim.
Nightmare Mode
We're also adding the rest of Nightmare mode realms! These are Niflheim and Muspelheim realms too. Ice and Fire Nightmares!
New Shrine!
The gold mine has arrived at Nordic Ashes! This new shrine is exactly that, a place where gold will be mined second after second. For now, it will provide 1 gold coin every 30 seconds. You don’t need to do anything, just grab the money whenever you want. (I’m sure there will be an Yggdrasil upgrade at some point, but shhh).
Anniversary Skins for Blud and Alruna
Last friday, December 15th was our 1 year anniversary since we launched Early Access! And what a better way to celebrate than to add Anniversary Skins for the remaining characters! Yes, that's right! Blud and Alruna will now have their own Anniversary Skin! It will work as last time: conquer 3 realms with those characters to win their skins :D (these are all permanent skins).
Skins from past events
Thanks all your feedback, we've decided to create new ways of getting character skins from past events in case you missed them. You will now be able to get Amaranth Catrina skin by winning 5 runs with Amaranth. If you already have, your skin will be automatically unlocked.
Same will happen with Santa Talkor. Once the event is over (Jan 4th) you will be able to unlock it too.
We hope that with these changes, you won't feel FOMO or not being able to earn every achievement. We will still keep part of the events as seasonal ones, because we think it's fun to have some variety. For example, Halloween Midgard will be available on October. But that's just as it happens in real life, everything is decorated in a spooky way only during October.
New Achievements
Since now you can get all the skins, we've created a new achievement for each of them ːNA_Crystalː
Improvements
The quantity of enemies needed to obtain leaves has been reduced.
Bosses and Final Bosses now grant more seeds.
Max. seeds required in exchange for leaves has been reduced from 500 to 450.
Seed drop rate has been increased.
Players will now earn 5 leaves on their first run.
Fixes
Axeldör’s Fire Boots (Brann) second ascension was not working.
End panel scroll improvements.

This will be the last update of the year as we will be taking 2 weeks off to rest all the new Asgard ideas and come back strong In January! We want to take all the time that requires to honor the last realm. We hope you enjoy these holidays very much.

Hello!! In today’s update we wanted to focus in some suggestions and fixes you sent us. And new Ragnaroks too!
Helheim Ragnarok VI & VII
We’ve added Ragnarok VI and VII to Helheim. Let us know how it feels! We know this mode was quite complicated last time, but it was due to a few bugs that were solved some weeks ago, so this ones should be plausible!
Niflheim Ragnarok I-V
We've also added Ragnarok I-V in Niflheim! So you can enjoy hardcore runs in this cold weather!
Suggestions
The Ultimate ability input has been improved. The icon shown in the bottom left of the screen will now glow each time it’s available.
Alpha settings can now be modified with keyboard and controller. Keyboard pressing I/O and controller with up/down directional buttons.
After an enemy is defeated, the dissolving animation lenght has been reduced, so enemies you defeat disappear quicker.
In manual aim, the direction of your attacks is now displayed.
Regarding FOMO
We’ve been reading your comments about FOMO in the last post, and thank you for commenting and doing it as constructive criticism, we really appreciate when feedback is written in a constructive way 😊 Our idea with themed skins or events has always been to add some variety to Nordic Ashes, but we understand your concerns. We will work on a solution to avoid this issue.
Fixes
In some cases Yggdrasil leaves would reset.
The Snowman relic and the Pinecone’s shadow were not affected by the alpha settings.
In some boss fights the music stopped playing.
When activating the use of the mouse to move the character, manual aim was autoactivated. Now aim will be automatic.
Constellation UI texts were sometimes overlapped.

Hello Survivors! In this post we’d like to introduce Nordic Ashes Winter Festival!
It will take place from December 1st until January 4th. This Winter Festival includes the following:
A festive Talkôr skin
Even though he looks a bit grumpy, we’re sure he’ll be a nice Santa. All his Relics have got a festive skin too! Conquer Jotunheim playing with Talkôr and keep it as a permanent skin.
Winter Jotunheim
Festive decorations all over Jotunheim. You will be able to spot some funny costumes in enemies too (we’re big fans of the Protectors lol). Remember you can reduce the number of freezing stacks from the Jotunheim curse if you possess fire relics, the more the better.
Winter themed relics
Last year you enjoyed so much the winter relics. This year we’ve added ascensions so they are even stronger! Please notice that themed relics will appear more often than regular ones. On that note, you may disable the Winter event on the Settings panel if you prefer to play regular runs.
Improvements and fixes
Translations updated: Chinese, Russian, Czech, Dutch, Ukrainian and Brazilian Portuguese.
Sindrok's bug that made you invincible.
We hope you enjoy this Winter Season as much as we did developing it! Next steps will lead us to Asgard, the last of the 9 Realms. Hopefully, this new map will be released before the end of December.
