Playtest #35 - Bot Power Battles!

Happy Holidays! Some large reworks have occurred this time around that we hope you enjoy.

This update we've tried to focus on the elimination game mode and bot support, so if you're only going to try one thing make sure it's a test of Human: Elimination with your bot teammates!

We also have a loadout system rework enabling full customisation during a match. A total recoil system overhaul to guns that allows players to counter and control gun kick. New power weapons accessible via gold resupply crates currently in Zombie: Horde mode and much more.

Please note that the bots have also received significant brainpower boosts and as a consequence they're using a bit more of the hosts's CPU than we would like. There are sliders to adjust the amount of bots via the 'Bot Elimination' button on the main menu as well is in the 'Admin Panel' during a match, but don't be afraid to hop into a dedicated server if your PC is struggling. There will be many bot optimisations in later patches.

Playtest #34 - The Horde Awakens!

Halloween has arrived! After the launch of our new bots last month, we had to add a zombie mode for everyone to enjoy. It's time to face the horde!

We have added a coop menu to launch a private session using Steam invites, otherwise players can launch and vote to play the mode as per the normal host process.

Working on this mode allowed us to continue improving the bot logic, make some good optimisations and add more bot supported maps to the selection pool. Some other highlights include newly improved bipod functionality and animations, new passive and adaptive night vision selections, some optimisations to the player ragdolls and more improvements to the wound painting accuracy and consistency.

We invite everyone to jump on for some fun battling the hordes of the undead and let us know how many waves you manage to survive through!

Playtest #33 - Bots Have Arrived!

As requested by the community, the bots have arrived! Jump into a lobby solo or with friends on either Containment map to play some rounds populated with the newly implemented bots.

We finally have bots worthy of showing. This feature has been one of the most requested things by the community and they are now ready to be released. We plan to improve them a lot, but they can still hold their ground currently and navigate throughout the map if they want to take you out using their loadout of choice.

This is for all those players wanting some PVE and co-op action. Bot support will be iterated upon and they will make their mark on the game in a more meaningful way in the future.

Time to go and earn unlocks against bots for your favourite classes and weapons!

Playtest #32 - Extended By 4 Days!

After a bug infested playtest period, the dedicated servers should now be working and the hitches caused by using melee should hopefully be gone. There have also been a heap of performance improvements thrown in along the way and the pump shotgun chamber time has been significantly increased.

With all the issues taken into account we have decided to give everyone an extra 4 days to try out the playtest.

Playtest #32 - An Unreal Update!

We have finally taken the plunge and updated the game engine from Unreal Engine 4.27.2 to Unreal Engine 5.4.1.

This change took a bit to implement, so there isn't as many significant gameplay changes this time around. Players may not notice too much difference, but the upgrade has given us the tools to address many of the performance issues players have been having. We have already made some significant gains in performance in some areas. However, there may also be some performance loses too that we intend to address ASAP.

There are new Anti-Aliasing Mode graphical options available now as well to allow players to further tweak their performance. For similar performance to the UE4 version of the game we recommend TAA, however TSR + some slight Resolution Scale reduction can improve visuals and perform nicely as well.

With that out of the way, it's time to jump in and hunt down your enemies with the new gun damage range updates that have now been applied to all weapons!

Playtest #31 - If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It!

After receiving a generous amount of feedback last playtest, we went through and did what we could address it. It's time to rally the troops and stay focused to hunt down those pesky Obscurity!

After some evolutionary miracle, soldiers can now choose their dominant hand and use either left or right hand to slap (or shoot) their enemies down - even if one of their hands are incapacitated. We also did a huge rework to how shotguns function to improve their reliability and consistency when battling enemies up close, as well as a change to how weapon recoil is applied.

Finally, we also added visuals cues in the form of glowing damage impacts whenever you tag on Obscurity to improve teamwork and visual tracking when engaging them.

It's time to grab a shotgun, rally your left handed buddies and go hunting for Obscurity. And remember, one hand is better than none!

Playtest #30 - Bowling Anyone?

Carry your friends to victory! Now that we are on a two month playtest cycle, we had some time to implement a few of the bigger changes we've had cooking. So grab some friends, literally, and carry them across the line!

Alright, enough carrying on. We have added the ability to pick up wounded or dead soldiers and throw them about the place as well. This was a big change, but it has opened a lot of new gameplay features that should prove pretty fun. It is also pretty creepy once an obscurity gets a grip on someone. So gear up, because it is time to go bowling!

Alongside this we have a lot of blood related improvements too. Hopefully we get to see everyone painting the town red now.

So jump on, grab some friends, use them as bowling balls and throw yourself into the latest update.
