Map Editor Terrain Painting system
In this update we added a completely new system for management of the Terrain, giving you more control to create and manage situations that were impossible before.
This new system consists of the possibility of painting the terrain with a brush, up to 8 different materials/textures for a single palette.
It's really easy and fast, also it's synchronized with other players, allowing you to paint simultaneously with your friends inside your server.
Only the first palette is available in this update, more textures palettes will be added later.

Terrain Color Painting Overview
How to paint with textures In order to paint your terrain you have to select the "TERRAIN" tab in the top right screen corner,
from here select the "Color" layer and the "NATURE GREEN" palette.
As default the terrain is filled with the first "Full Grass" texture, but you're free to change it with another texture: to do that just select your chosen texture and press the "Fill all with selected texture" button.
Then you can begin to paint: choose the desired texture and press the left mouse button on the ground.
The more you press the more color will be painted on the ground.

Mixing Textures and Paint Strengh If you want to apply a light painting turn down the paint strengh bar.
How to create variations and nice looking grounds with textures Color/Texture variations are really important in order to obtain a natural and nice looking terrain,
we suggest to use texture combinations to achieve this result.
Here are some combinations example,
For Full Grass terrain type - "Full Grass" and "Dirty Grass" mixture For Dirty roads/passages - "Dirt" and "Mud" mixture For Full Dirty terrain type - "Dirt", "Mud" and "Clay mixture
Map Editor Details Painting system
Similarly to the terrain painting system, this Details Painting system allows you to paint with "details" instead of textures.
Details can be grass, small plants, stones or other small objects.

How to create variations and nice looking grounds with details In order to achieve a clean and natural terrain do not overdo with details painting and try to mix up 2/3 objects togheter.
Also uses detail objects in combination with the painted terrain textures.
Here are some combinations example,
For Full Grass terrain type - with "Full Grass" texture use D8 as base and add D0/D1/D2 For Dirty Grass terrain type - with "Full Grass/Dirty Grass" textures use D8 as base and add D9 for dense zone. For Full Dirt terrain type - with "Dirt/Mud/Clay" textures use only D5 Rocks and add D8 only where grass is present.

Report Player feature
From now will be possible to report other players for rules infringement like chat spamming, teamkilling, cheating, inappropriate words and behaviour.
Reports have no immediate/direct effects but are saved for further analysis and measures by the moderators.
To report a player you need to open the Report Menu, available from the ESC menu while you are in-game.

MAP EDITOR UPDATE
New "Map Deletion" Map Editor feature From now it's possible to delete unused custom map, the process is not reversible so be careful with that!
New "Duplicate Map" Map Editor feature From now it's possible to duplicate existent map,
this process is particularly useful for reusing previously created layouts, lile "full black floor map" and premade building/zone,
or for creating alternative versions of existing maps.
Delete and Duplicate button on Map Editor maps list.
Map Editor Fast tiles placing for floors and walls From now on cover large areas with walls and floors will be easier and faster ,
keeping the left mouse button pressed will allow you to place these objects quickly without having to manually click each time.
Map image preview inside Settings tab From now on you can have an overview of your entire map thanks to the image available in the settings menu (or by pressing the [M] key).
More Gamemodes support for Custom maps Finally, custom maps can be used in almost all gamemodes, here's the list:

How to setup your custom maps for Gamemodes Each map needs a certain list of objects to be present in order to be compatible with a certain game mode.
Be sure to have these objects placed in your map space otherwise the map will be not shown in your playable maps list.
TDM - gTDM - IG - MB These mode only requires the player's spawn points, make sure you have placed enough of them in order to avoid multiple player to be spawn int the same spot.
We recommend using at least 12 spawn points for each team, also keep in mind that spawn points are required for all game modes. *At the moment Spawn Points are shared between all gamemodes, if you need different spawn points for each gamemode right now the only way is to duplicate the map.
GaT The GaT gamemode requires at least one "Thieves Target" object and one "Thieves Exit Point"

CTF/gCTF/igCTF The CTF gamemode requires a "Flag Home" and "Capture Point" tiles for both teams.
Each tile can be placed once
DE The DE gamemode requires at least one "Bomb Target".

Each tile can be placed once
ZR The ZR mode requires at least one "Big Brain" as objective for the Zombie team.
As you know only one Brain will be available at a time in each game, the objective will be randomly select between all the brains available in the map.

Teleports Teleports are usable in all modes, but we recommend using them only in VR looking maps for gTDM/IG mode.
One single teleport is composed by one entry point and one exit point, easily recognizable in BUILD mode.

New auto-balance algorithm
Another change that will be available in the next release is a better auto-balance algorithm.
The problem with the current one is that is *only* taking in consideration the average score during the matches and it's not considering the player experience.
The new algorithm it's still a simple one but we think it will be an improvement.
It works like this: every player will have a "rating" computed that it the result of 3 variables:
A = ( avg_score / 2000 ) * 0.5
B = total_wins / total_match_played
C = level / level_cap
RATING = A + B + C
It will be possible to see every player rating just hovering with the mouse on their name inside the lobby:
After a rating is computed for every player we will try to create the best teams, trying different player combinations until the 2 teams have a similar total rating (computed simply summing all the rating of the players in a team).

Classes rebalance aims to rebalance the game mechanics by giving more importance to the less used classes.
In this particular case we're going to buff Scout and Carrier for Guards and Cobra, Saboteur and Medic for Thieves faction.
Both classes statistics and loadouts stats have been changed in order to achieve this goal, details in the list below.

To pass through you must first destroy them, keep in mind that their presence can 'be both an advantage or a disadvantage.
Maps Remake, Rebalance and Changes
The most used maps are only "Office" and "Mansion", there are reasons behind that and we want to address this problem.
Maps Like "Cemetery" and "Military camp" in particular have some balancing problems, like too much darkness on the main points of interest giving a huge advantage to the thieves and not well-balanced objectives placement.
We've improved the situation by changing maps Layouts, Lighting, objectives placement, Spawn zones and more.

Vote Mode/Map System
Voting system for Modes and Maps is available both for Dedicated Server and Client Hosted servers.
Voting System for Dedicated Servers. Voting System start automatically once server reach the minimum number of players (Usually 4 players).
*Dedicated server with Voting System ON are named as "Free Vote Modes/Maps"
The first voting phase allow to vote for Gamemodes and it last for 10 seconds.
In case of a tie additional time is granted and players can move their vote.
The second voting phase allow to vote for Maps and it works the same way.
Voting System for Client Hosted servers. In this case the Vote System is optional and the admin can manually trigger it whenever he want and how many times feel necessary,
by using the dedicated "START VOTING" button.
Voting phase follow the same rules explained above.

"Of Guards and Thieves" is now available as Free To Play to everyone!
Welcome to all new players!
Of Guards and Thieves, what is it?
"OGAT" is a multiplayer stealth game in which high-powered guards face off against fast and elusive thieves in a contest of wits.
Outsmarting the enemy and shooting your way through to the goal are equally valid strategies.
Asymmetric Stealth multiplayer tactical action.
Class system and factions.
Innovative dynamic lighting system.
Interactive environment.
Competitive and fun game modes.
Leveling System with experience points.
Classes unlock levels for Free To Play players.
New players will begin their journey into the world of "Of Guards and Thieves" with only basic classes such as
Assault/Scout for Guards, Cobra/Shadow for Thieves and Runner for Zombies.
Specialized classes can simply be unlocked by playing and gaining experience points.
Here's the levels needed to unlock each individual classes:
Level 4: Guardian (Guards)
Level 5: Tank (Zombies)
Level 6: Saboteur (Thieves) - Piellini (Soccer)
Level 7: Acid (Zombies)
Level 8: Carrier (Guards) - Marfelo (Soccer)

Will OGAT become a Pay To Win game?
NO. And never will be: we have removed the class limitation for F2P user exactly for this reason.
Avoiding PAY TO WIN feeling and complaints at all cost is one of our primary goals.
Permanent Gold Users have to be perceived as useful and as a friendly resource for anyone, not as an enemy.
I already bought the game, what do I have to do?
Early Access users will receive the "Permanent Gold Account" DLC automatically and for free.
If you have already bought the game you do not have to buy back the DLC, you'll see it as already purchased and activated.
Will OGAT remain in Early Access phase?
Yes, we want to add new content, features, and polishing to the game before declaring it complete.
Of Guards and Thieves - Permanent Gold Account DLC will still have the ability to have more content like extra Gamemodes and Maps, In-Game Map Editor, exclusive Avatars, Golden Star next to your username and more.
