‘Ogu and the Secret Forest’ is joining ‘Steam Next Fest’ just before our early access in March!
The ‘Next Fest’ is a festival for games that are due to be released.
‘Ogu and the Secret Forest’ is planning to show some live footage of the 3rd closed beta test during this time. (We’ll let you know more about this soon!)

For the newcomers around, here’s some information about our latest development situation!
1. 6 separated regions
‘Baby Ogu’ must collect 6 different sigils to save the broken world. Each of these sigils are obtainable by adventuring the diverse regions of the world.
On early access in March, you can adventure in 3 of these regions.
These regions include a variety of contents such as boss fights, puzzles, enemy defence, and many types of mini-games appropriate to each region’s style and concept.
2. Collectables
During the exciting adventure throughout these various regions, you will come across a variety of collectables. These include flying butterflies, beetles hanging on trees, bugs found in a bush and so on. All of these collectable insects are then able to be exhibited in a museum somewhere in the world.
And there’s more on its way! For example rare fruits, fish, minerals, ceramic pottery just to name a few. Please stay tuned for these exciting collectables!
3. Housing
The chosen hero of the world deserves a beautiful house! And what’s a house if you can’t decorate it to your liking? The housing system will allow you to create your house as you want it to be. Variety of furniture and ornaments such as a hot spring and fireplace and many more will be included for you to enjoy your life at home.

[TGS 2023] Best Audio Finalist!

We attended the B2B booth at ‘Taipei Game Show 2023’ that was held from the 2nd till 4th of February. While working hard for the early access and operating the 3rd closed beta test.
We’ve had lots of attention from many people from the game industry not only from Taiwan but also from a variety of countries.
However, the best thing that happened was the fact that ‘Ogu and the Secret Forest’ have been nominated as a finalist for ‘Best Audio’ for the ‘Taipei Game Show’s Indie Awards’!
Although we didn’t win the award, it was a great honor for us to be nominated along with the great amazing games.
Because of the nomination, the audio and music director ‘Gitae Kim’ for our game ‘Ogu and the Secret Forest’ got to do a lecture presentation for the ‘Asia Pacific Game Summit 2023(APGS)’.
Both the nomination and the conference presentation were very meaningful for all of us, and it is undoubtedly thanks to all the wonderful support and interest from you guys. And for that, we’re very honored and deeply thankful.
And for that, from various pieces of advice, we promise that we’ll carry on producing a wonderful game and make sure that “Ogu and the Secret Forest’ becomes a great experience for you all.

Demo Update & Development Progress
Hello everyone! ːsteamhappyː Hope you’ve all spent a wonderful new year.
We’ve been hard at work for the early access release this March. After this version update on the demo, we’ll soon begin the 3rd closed beta test. (Korea Exclusive)
These are the updates for the demo version and the current development.
1. Demo Version Updates
Monkey Sentinel
A lot of people suggested that the amount of puzzles in the beginning area was overwhelming. So we’ve decided to include a new combat for the ‘Monkey warehouse’ and ‘The Temple of the Sun’ by including a new adversary.
The monkey sentinel will be using the rock fist ability similar to the sun golem’s attack. During movement it will not take any damage however when it’s stationary, it will. The monkey sentinel will be stationary for it to engage the attack. So that’s when you may strike it.
Additional Garbage Monsters
The Temple of the Sun has more enemies for combat now.
2. Current Development Situation
4 Major Regions for the Early Access
The early access that will begin this March has 4 major regions of the Secret Forest. These include Jungle, Moon Forest, Desert and part of the main field region. Currently we’re fine tuning the details for these areas. Other than a few side quests and visual details, the development is complete on all 4 of the major regions.
Housing System
The ‘Hero’s House’ located in the ‘Village of the Sun’ now is being renovated for it to be able to be customized.
You may place various housing collectables that are found throughout the adventure. There will be a variety of objects like cooking bonfires, hot springs, pots where you can grow plants and so on. These will let you customize your house to your liking and help your adventure even further.

Demo Version Update

The early closed beta after the update on June, we've made a lot of improvements. Due to these reasons we needed to make several changed to the Demo Version of the game as well.
These are the changes that we made.
Collectables
1. Bug Catching
The 'Bug Catching' system has been included. Main three types of bugs will be flight, tree and grass. There will be around 30 types of bugs to catch. These can be sold to the market or exhivited on the 'Museum' which will be updated later.
2. Monster item drop
There will be item drops from the adversaries in the game. The dropped items can be sold to the market, utilized to upgrade the gear or may be used in various quests.
3. Timing of Fishing Changes
The fishing timing has been improved so the swinging and the catching timing is more reasonable.
Maps
1. Random Encounters
Random encounter system has been added. During the Baby Ogu's adventure through various areas of the world, there will be random encounters. It could either be shops or garbage monsters so that the adventure of Baby Ogu can be more exiting.
2. Area Graphical changes
Many area's artwork images, layers and physics has been improved.
Puzzles
Pushing Animation Update
Most requested improvement during our closed beta was about the pushing system. The pushing action now has been updated so that the interaction with the object is improved.
'The Temple of the Sun' Changes
One of the rooms in ‘The Temple of the Sun’ has changed from puzzle to a combat scenario.
System
'Dancing' Changes
Baby Ogu's 'Dancing' ability has been changed to only replenish half of the health bar. However, there will be a new status effect called 'Exited'. The 'Exited' status will let Baby Ogu to heal to full health bar as usual. This status will be acquirable through visiting a town or consuming certain food.
UI Changes
1. Quest UI Changes Various changes to the UI has been made regarding quests. Now the undiscovered quests will be noticed. Recently acquired quests and completed quests will be separated.
2. Main Title Theme Music and Image Title screen's main theme music and image has been updated.
3. Basic Control Changes Keyboard, Controller, Mobile controls has been changed accordingly.
4. Camera Work Changes While Running Animation When Baby Ogu is running, the camera will now pan to a wider view.
5. Visual Special Effects The visual special effects has been added when Baby Ogu's health is low or if there are negative status effects.
These are the few updates that has been added due to the small portion of the demo version. We have already developed so much more and we're eager to show you all of it very soon! We will continue to develop restlessly until early access next year. So that we can give you the best, dynamic and exiting gameplay experience as we can.

We're currently attending various game shows and updating all the feedbacks we've received from the community.
Followings are the informations of the updates and future plans.
6 Sigils
Baby Ogu is on an adventure to collect all 6 sigils from the secret forest's world. Each sigils are themed different according to its own regions.
Progress & Plans
We've currently completed 3 main quest lines.
Until the Early Access next year, we are developing and refining the quality of the main quest lines, and also adding various gathering areas and a place to diplay your collectables.
Jungle: Where you can acquire the sigil of the Sun and experience the basic mechanics of the game. (You can play this in the current free demo version.) In this area, you may also experience the advanced version of various puzzles and combat systems.
This area consists of 44 maps including dungeons that are not displayed in the map above.
Moon Forest: Moon forest is the area where you can acquire the sigil of the Moon. In this region, there are dark areas where you may face the minions of the legendary Moth Hero.
Also a bunch of puzzles are there too!
This area consists of 37 maps including dungeons that are not displayed in the map above.
Desert: Where you can acquire the sigil of the Fire. In this zone, there are bigger areas where you might have to fight gigantic adversaries with the help of the ancient high-tech civilization.
This area consists of 25 maps including dungeons that are not displayed in the map above.
Museum & House of the Warrior
With the development we've mentioned above, we are also making museum and house of the warrior where you can display your collectables and replenish gears and items for yout adventure.
Plans
We'll finish up the developent of 3 main regions above and are planning for 2nd CBT(Exclusive in Republic of Korea).

Tumblbug Funding D-6
Hi, all! ːsteamhappyː Tumblbug funding that we've introduced before is now 6 days left. This funding provides Steam key, mobile (Android only) code, and several on/offline rewards.
But sadly, as we mentioned, this funding is only available in South Korea because of its policy. We hopefully get a chance to provide these goods for oversea users someday.

English & Japanese Update
Hi, all! We've updated English and Japanese in the demo version. Of course, the language will be automatically applied by your computer setting so you don't need to do any steps to play it.
If you find any trouble with playing each version, please let us know through the Steam community. Hope you guys enjoy the demo play and please stay tuned on the furthermore developments!
For whom have played the initial demo version already, here is what's changed.
Updates
Fishing system has been updated. We're planning to add several collecting systems like bugs, fruits, etc. And what has been changed is applied to the current demo. You can meet 10 new fish in the 'Village of the Sun'. Fishes are divided into 3 grades and can be found according to the fishing sites. Also, 1st and 2nd-grade fishes that are rarely appeared need an additional step to be caught.
The cutscenes that are played in the early part of the game are updated with improved animations and sound. They are not the final version yet and we'll keep making it better.
We've added the Mac demo version.
Playstation controller is available.

We released the first beta version of 'Ogu and the Secret Forest' on June 1st. But we only support Korean currently since we want to add furthermore languages with enough time for the good quality.
