We’ve seen that some users have had issues with the previous update, so we’ve reacted as fast as we could to fix them with this patch.
On the other hand, we want to let you know that we’ve already started working on the SteamDeck port, which will arrive later this month as you can see in our development roadmap. We can’t wait for you to see for yourselves how cool the game looks with adapted controls and revised UI layout.
Changelog
Improvements: - Heroes now shout words of encouragement to the recruits when you send them jogging. Try it out by selecting a hero and clicking the “Jogging” button on their detail panel. - We’ve added spark effects to generators and power poles when they are almost at their overload limit, so you have more visual warnings and can get ahead of the problem.
Bugfixes: - Thank to the report of the recruits Byuyu”, Fernan9159, !Destex, MoonMonger, Glitch, unaljoy, Fla313, !World, FMFan2014, RAR_Dingo, sg13x…….., we have fixed a bug in which the characters would freeze after doing some operations like upgrading a building with workers inside. - Thanks to the report of Pimpf5 we have fixed the bug where no building or recruit could be selected after loading a save after the previous patch. - Fixed a bug reported by AndrewXD where characters currently on a mission were not appearing in the building’s soldier list. - Fixed a bug in witch the game would crash after selecting a reception center containing the maximum number of recruits at level 3. - Fixed a bug where some characters would overlap in the same place in the reception center. - Diana’s and Julie’s special hero perks were swapped. Now they are applied correctly.
Pro tip - #2
Remember that building placement is very important in One Military Camp. If you want maintenance to work well, spread the maintenance buildings around the camp, don’t concentrate them in one spot. This will make it easier for them to reach all points in the camp.
“A One Military Camp story” - #2
Sergeant Campbell reviewed every bed in the barracks, he measured the cover, and checked how our uniforms were hung in the lockers. - Excuse me, sir. - Yes, Hawkins? - I don’t mean to be disrespectful, sir, but why is it so important to have our beds so perfectly made up? - I could give you any number of reasons, Hawkins - Campbell continued, moving through the barracks, under the watchful eye of the other recruits and checking the rest of the beds. - It could be because I want you to be well rested tomorrow, to continue training. Or it could be because I want every and each of my recruits to be equal. But the truth is... -He turned and looked at us. -... if you pay attention to what you are doing at every moment, it doesn't matter if it is housekeeping or defusing explosives, and if you strive to do it perfectly, things will work out. If you are thinking of what you are going to do next, or that boy or girl you met last week, you might fail. I don't care if you fail with your beds, but you won't be able to try again if you fail with explosives. Do you understand? -Yessir -We all answered at the same time. -Ok, now, full equipment, start running around the camp.
There's another thing I admired about Campbell. He said run, he ran with us. And believe me when I say he may have been old, but he was unbeatable. He never took off his hat, never stopped to drink and his example was our best motivation. Ok, maybe having to clean the latrines if you finished last also helped.
Once I heard that the Vikings used the same word for "chief" and "shield", and Campbell was truly our shield, you felt safe under his command, even if it was just basic instruction. Things could change in the coming weeks, I didn't know, but for now I enjoyed following him. I wondered if some day I would have a batch of recruits under my command.

Pro tip - #1
You can connect several generators by wires and electric poles and this will make them share the load. It’s a good idea to create an area in the camp with several generators connected to each other, and bring power to the rest of the camp from there. You can even create separate grids to avoid chain reactions.
“A One Military Camp story” - #1
Some would say the army is like a family. Those men and women at your side are your brothers and sisters. They will endure the same hardships, they’ll understand your every need and risk their lives to save you, just as you would do for each and every one of them. For us, our “father” was Drill Sergeant Campbell.
He was a tough father. I remember the first day I saw him like it was yesterday; his small, judgemental eyes, sizing up the new recruits, calculating how many of them would still be in camp after training. He wouldn’t tell us why we were getting our hair cut, why it was so important to keep our boots clean, or maintain a well pressed uniform. It was just a matter of discipline, you obey your father because he knows what's best for you. That day, standing in line in the sun, I thought he was nothing more than an old, arrogant, failed war hero. But I was so wrong.
I’m Sergeant Hawkins, of One Military Camp. Let me tell you my story.
I've heard many stories about Drill Sergeants calling their recruits “funny” names. But the truth is, Campbell respected us. At least he called us by our last name, and he never had to ask twice. He stood in front of me, and calmly, in a firm but low voice asked, “Why are you here Hawkins?” - I came here to become a soldier. - Come on Hawkins, why would anyone want to be a soldier? -he turned and began to look at the other recruits. - To defend our country? - You are very wrong Hawkins. You are here to defend the people you love, even if they are far away. People, Hawkins, not a few feet of dirt. You train so you never have to use what you learn here. So that the bad people out there don’t come and piss Hawkins off. Keep that in mind as you run. And now, give me ten laps around camp.
That first night I was so tired I couldn't sleep. But I was doing it for the people I loved, my other family, back home.

From Private to elite! The new training process.
One of the most important aspects in any strategy and management game is to manage your resources properly. In One Military Camp you have to build a military camp and train a bunch of rookies to turn them into elite specialists. That means your recruits are your most precious resource and you’ll have to take good care of them and guide them through the path that better suits their innate abilities.
We know we've talked about this before, but the process in the final game has changed quite a bit from the demo, in big part thanks to the feedback from our dear community. Check it out!
Starting from the bottom
Volunteers from all over the country knock at the doors of the recruitment center to be part of the fight against Dragan’s forces. Your first step as a recruiter will be to check the recruit’s abilities and traits to find the diamonds in the rough. After all, more people means more beds and more expenses, so you’ll need to be a bit picky, at least in the early stages until your economy is sustainable.
Look at Daria Johnsen, her cabbage farm has been raided by Dragan’s goons, and she’s ready to join the resistance. She already seems pretty strong as we can see in her skill score. According to her traits, she also has medicine knowledge, which could be useful, who knows!
Traits can be key when choosing a new recruit, bear in mind they can be negative too, but hey, nobody is perfect.
Each specialization is linked to a core skill (look at the colors!). Keep that in mind when choosing newbies.
She will make an excellent artillery expert! Do we have a free bed in our barracks? Good, good. Now, let’s assign her a training goal. She might have innate skills, but she can’t possibly expect to be an artillery specialist from minute one. She’ll join the camp as a Private, and she’ll have to go through the basic training just as anyone else here, until her skill reaches the required level. Until then, we can’t send her to missions. Training is her whole life now.
Remember that your recruits need to rest too, or else they may get injured or demotivated. You can set their schedules to daytime or nighttime (in case they are night-owls) and customize the presets from the policies panel.
Sometimes you might have to ask them to make an extra push or give them a full day off to recharge.
Need an extra boost of morale and experience? Join the Sergeant for some jogging.
When the rookie has reached the training goal, it’s time to put on the uniform and start with the real stuff! Training in their specialty will give your recruits more XP, which means more chances of success on missions.
And you know what they say… you never really stop learning. Keep improving your recruits’ skills to unlock more advanced classes that will be key in your campaign against Dragan.
Those are the basics! Remember to keep your cadets well rested, with the barracks away from the noisy buildings, give them a nutritious chow in the canteen and place some entertainment buildings for a well deserved R&R time.
With enough experience the students may become the teachers! But that’s a topic for another occasion 🙂
What do you think, recruit? Ready to enlist? Jump into our Discord and join the selected players with beta access! New updates are just around the corner and we would love to read your thoughts.
See ya!
This devlog will shock you!
Welcome to a new One Military Camp Devlog, where we will give you an update on the new and upcoming features for the release version of One Military Camp and take an in depth look at the game mechanics. Keep your feet grounded because today’s update is a high voltage one.
If you have been playing our private beta build (which you can get if you join our Discord, by the way), you’ll already be familiar with solar panels and batteries, but we’ve noticed some players found the system confusing, so we’ve changed a few things in order to streamline the process.
We didn’t stop there though, and we’ve prepared some electrifying improvements so you can actually play with power and be sure lights will never go out in your camp.
Power and responsibility
Electricity doesn’t grow on trees, we have to generate it, somehow. Our first step will be to build a basic Power Generator. This structure will power all the buildings within its radius.
It’s a fuel guzzler though! Be sure to have enough warehouses nearby, with a steady supply of fuel from one of the vendors available. Find the best deal!
You can check how much fuel is remaining in the generator.
Which one will you choose?
Of course, as your camp grows, you will want to extend the area covered by your generator. That’s what electric poles are useful for.
The new building grid allows you to place electric poles and lampposts on the intersections, so you can take full advantage of the space available.
Be careful not to overload the power grid, because just one generator won’t be enough to cover the power needs of any legit camp. If your base doesn’t have enough generators, or one of them runs out of fuel unexpectedly, it will put too much pressure on the remaining generators and they may explode, causing a real mess.
A good alternative to building more generators is to upgrade the ones we already have to make them more efficient.
Tip: Even if you have enough fuel in your warehouses, your maintenance staff will have to carry it to the generators. If they are too far away they may not arrive in time. Try to optimize the distance between warehouses and generators and hire enough maintenance staff!
Taking care of the environment
Power Generators are a cheap and straightforward way of producing electricity, the fuel they need on the other hand, is not that cheap. Also, have you seen the toxic fumes over our camp? It’s a concern for the health of our recruits and the environment.
Fortunately, there are cleaner alternatives. We have to research them first, but that will be a piece of cake with the intel our recruits gain with each successful mission.
These renewable energy sources come with their own difficulties, but overcoming them will be worth it in the end, and you’ll save a lot in fuel.
Solar panels are really efficient during the day, but once the sun sets they can’t produce electricity, which is a problem for the night-owls that train better during the night and can also leave us vulnerable to nocturnal drone attacks.
To solve this we can build batteries that will charge during the day, allowing the camp to use the stored energy during the night. They must be directly attached to the solar panels in order to work. Be sure to have enough to last until dawn!
The lights in the batteries show you how much charge is left.
The sun is great and all, but do you know which other natural force we can use to produce energy? You’ve guessed right: the wind. Aeolic generators will harness the power of the wind to generate electricity and keep our camp fully operative.
What’s great about this is that wind doesn’t care if it’s night or day, it will mess with your hair anyway, and also move the turbines of your generators, producing sweet electric juice.
The catch? The wind can sometimes be capricious and stop blowing if it feels like it. You can build structures to measure its strength and be prepared for its ups and downs (as a bonus, they will also look cool in your camp). Always build some batteries and have a plan B just in case!
Tip: Defend your power sources! If the enemy manages to sabotage them it can create complete chaos in your camp.
Great! Your camp has power now… but what will you do with it? Stay tuned to learn more about the systems in One Military Camp.

What's going on in One Military Camp?
Hello cadets!
It's been a while since you've received any transmission from the camp, we know, but don't fret, everything is going according to plan and we are still gathering forces in the resistance against Dragan and his goons.
We must keep a low profile, as it is still of utmost importance to remain unnoticed by the enemy. They are not the sharpest tools in the shed, but they are already beginning to suspect...
We have a lot of news to share with you and we will be unveiling them over the next few weeks, so that you can get a good in depth look at them.
As a small preview, we have asked our communications experts to prepare a status report on the changes and new features that await you in the upcoming builds of One Military Camp. Some fragments have been redacted, because this is sensitive and confidential information that we must keep hidden from Dragan's snoops, but soon we will be able to talk about them in more detail, we promise!
October 2022 - Status report
Sgt. Hawkins has decided that, from now on, all new recruits must enter the camp as Privates and gain experience in basic training before specializing. It's essential to master the fundamentals!
