The latest patch!

It's time for the latest patch to OWM.
The list of changes:
added youth academy instead of mechanics facility;

  • added simplified race generator for OWC-2 and OWC-3. All free drivers in suitable age will be distributed in those championships:
  • the principle increase drivers skills has changed. The skill growth is limited by driver talent, so only a few drivers will be manage to achieve the highest level;
  • added retire from race due to component failure;
  • car upgrade are paid now;
  • all generated drivers and candidates to youth academy weaker on skills, than were in the last patch;
  • FOR MODS: added possibility to set a point system. To redefine standard point system in the mod folder create txt file "points_system.txt" where the points is separated by a hyphen starting from the first place. For example, the actual point system will be 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1;
  • fixed some problems in graphic interface;
  • sponsors are more willing to agree to a 2-year contract while continuing negotiations (80% probability vs 30% in version 1.2.2);
  • degradation of car components reduced a bit in off-season;
  • the effect of test sessions is increased by 20%;
  • added random events: "regulation change" - leads to random changes of the car on next season (occurs no more often than in 3 seasons); "engine regulation change" - changes a lot engine parameters in off-season;
  • motor manufacturers improve their financial performance (the frequency of upgrades depends on them) by getting their customers into the top ten;
  • AI teams prefer to sign longer contracts now.

Update to v.1.2.2

Let us remind all new features of v.1.2.0 beta and v.1.2.1 beta (for those who didn't take part in beta-testing it will be helpful):

v.1.2.0 release notes:

  • Removed next sections: "Projects", "Production" and "Carsetup";
  • Added new section "Production";
  • Added the screen of contracts for next season of all teams (appears when some team sign the contract);
  • Fixed bug with driver roles that crashed the game in off-season or in first test session of new season.

New section "Production":
Each team have a standard set of 10 element instead of development, construction and installation of spare parts now. This abstract parts that are considered uniform on both teams cars. Wear and repair will be processed, and disabled yet. Parts upgrade is done in a package now, not in queue. All staff in the design and production departments are automatically involved in the upgrade.

v.1.2 is compatible with old saves.

v.1.2.1 release notes:

  • Reduced level of sponsors money;
  • Changed upgrade balance - each iteration needs less points, the chance of purple iteration depends on upgrade size (numbers of iterations) and chief designer skills;

  • Added screen with PC teams upgrades;
  • Increased engine regress in off-season;
  • Reduced team reputation growth in off-season;
  • Teams budget reduced twice (for new game start);
  • Reduced prize payments by season results.

BETA v.1.2

Great to invite you to take part in the OWM v1.2 beta testing.

We managed to realize all the features we wanted to include in this patch. However, there are the lack of help information in the interface and some flaws in the graphic part, and it don't allows us fully release this version.
To take part in the beta test, go to your library on Steam, right-click on OWM, select Properties and switch on the Beta branch as shown in the screenshot.
