Orcs Must Die! Unchained is now available!

Robot Entertainment today announced that their hilarious action tower defense game ORCS MUST DIE! UNCHAINED is now commercially available! Players can download the game from Steam or directly from OrcsMustDie.com.

Orcs Must Die! Unchained takes the award-winning Orcs Must Die! action tower defense gameplay to a whole new level with 3-player team-based gameplay! But don’t get cocky, because the stakes are higher, the traps are bloodier, and the invaders are even more ravenous. You’ll need to bring your A-game and a couple of the biggest orc-haters you can find!

Orcs Must Die! Unchained is set in the familiar world of its hilarious fantasy predecessors, years after the finale of Orcs Must Die! 2. With dozens of new rifts and worlds beyond them, heroes have come from far and wide to wage all-out war for control of these magical gateways. In the years since Orcs Must Die! 2, Maximillian and Gabriella have done their best to rebuild the once-mighty Order.

Features

Orcs Must Die! Unchained will also be available on PlayStation 4 later this year.

One Week to Launch!

Oh, hello.

I just wanted to give a shout out to you, the incredible OMDU community. What a crazy ride it has been :-). From the closed beta release way back in 2014 through today, you have provided us with amazing feedback, thoughtful criticism, and challenged many of our assumptions. We definitely suffered some bruises along the way, but it's only made the game stronger. YOU made the game stronger.

With your help, we've made countless small changes to the game, and a few that were pretty monumental. While it was extremely painful to lose a game mode like Siege, I hope that you find the game is much more cohesive and "OMD-like" than ever before. And with the addition of Sabotage we've brought back a great way to test your skills against other OMDU players.

So, here we are at launch, which is truly only the beginning of OMDU. We have big plans for the future, and can't wait to hear your ideas. Please, keep your feedback coming! Enjoy the launch, and we'll see you online!

Thanks again!

OMDU Weekly Challenge "Alms for the Poor"

Attention War Mages! This week's challenge has been changed from Playing with Fire to Alms for the Poor.

Your hero will have to rely on handouts in this challenge. Once the hero's starting coin runs out, the only coin generated in the level is the coin that drops with each wave - no coin from combos, kills, or abilities. Don't forget to pick up coin!

Can you defeat this challenge with the available heroes -- Hogarth, Blackpaw, or Smolder?

OMDU to release on April 19, 2017 with new game mode!

OMDU to release on April 19, 2017!

That’s right, War Mages, Orcs Must Die! Unchained is exiting open beta and officially launching on April 19! This free-to-play commercial release features classic Orcs Must Die! gameplay players and also heralds the return of head-to-head gameplay in the form of Sabotage, a brand new 3v3 party game mode.

Introducing Sabotage!

Gamers ready for a trap-snapping, spell-slinging, ogre-spudging good time can look no further than Orcs Must Die! Unchained's new game mode, Sabotage! This fast-paced mode is a totally new way to play. Players assemble a team to defend their rift, but at the same time another team is playing on the same map in some… spooky… alternate dimension or something. These other players can distract your team with spells, minions, and huge bosses to make you lose rift points. But of course, players can pay 'em back by doing the same! The team with the most rift points at the end of the match wins.

OMDU Update 1.9 is Live!

Update: Robot Entertainment to Publish in EU

Our European publisher, Gameforge, has been a valuable and supportive partner over the last 3+ years. After careful consideration, we have made the joint decision to combine our European and North American players solely under the Robot Entertainment banner. This means that Robot Entertainment will be taking over the publishing and support for all of our players, and that we can finally give our community one of their biggest requests: a single account system. With this system in place, players can play with their friends from anywhere in North America and Europe.

Starting March 21st, 2017, Gameforge will be emailing each of its OMD!U players a unique migration code. After receiving the code, players will be able to click the link in their email and use that unique code to migrate their Gameforge account data to a Robot Entertainment account.

We look forward to getting to know the EU community and making sure that they are as close to us here at Robot Entertainment as the rest of the community has become.

Important Note for our European players: emails with migration codes have been sent by the Gameforge team and must be redeemed online in order to migrate your progress to your new (or previously existing) Robot account.

Update: Terminology Changes

In preparation for OMD!U's PlayStation® 4 release, terminology relating to skills has changed. Because using terms like "E ability" could cause confusion across platforms, the following global naming scheme has been devised for attacks and abilities. Some of them players may recognize, others are new:

All new communication about abilities will use this new terminology. We apologize for any confusion this causes and appreciate players' patience as we prepare to launch on PS4.

Update: Guardian System

Developer Comment: We have been listening to feedback from the community on guardians for a while. We decided to make these changes for a few reasons:

New Guardians
