Orcs Must Die! Unchained
Extended Downtime Notice for Update 1.9
Beginning with Patch 1.9, Robot Entertainment will be assuming publishing and support of Orcs Must Die! Unchained from Gameforge in the EU. To prepare for the patch and to setup for account migrations, the website, forums, and game servers will be down for extended maintenance. The maintenance will begin at 4 am CT on March 14th and last through 10 am CT on March 21st.
If you are a current Gameforge Orcs Must Die! Unchained account holder, watch your email account for a special migration code on March 21st. Use your code and the link in the email to migrate your account details into a Robot Entertainment Orcs Must Die! Unchained account.
Automatic migrations will not be possible, and players will have until September 30th, 2017 to migrate their accounts to the Robot Entertainment account system. After that time, no account migrations will be granted.
Your hero will have to stay Unchained to tackle all the heavy units and bosses this challenge throws at you. Luckily, some Unchained drops will help you along the way. Make sure to pick them up and keep your Unchained meter glowing and going.
Can you defeat this challenge with the available heroes -- Oziel, Cygnus, and Bloodspike?

Upcoming Game Feature: Premium Shoppe!
One of the top concerns within the Orcs Must Die! Unchained community since the massive 1.6 update has been the surplus of cards for traps that are Tier 7. In December, we told the community that higher tiers of traps were coming to OMDU with future content updates. However, the existing seven tiers of traps are balanced alongside the game’s difficulty level and there is currently no need for higher tiers of traps.
Instead of adding additional trap tiers we are introducing a system that will allow players to recycle their excess cards into a new currency and redeem this currency in a shop designed for higher level players, containing a variety of vanity and functional items.
We’re happy to share the rough design and some mock-ups for this new system to address excess trap cards as well as surplus trap parts.
HOW IT WORKS
For players who already have a surplus of trap cards, or more of a trap part than can be utilized, these extra cards will be converted to gibs automatically once the Premium Shoppe has been added to the game. You’ll log in and have a stack of gibs to spend in the new shop on day one.
When surplus trap cards or trap parts are received from chests after the Premium Shoppe has been added to the game, gibs will be received in lieu of excess trap cards.
GIBS FOR EVERYONE!
The Premium Shoppe will exist as an additional section of the existing OMDU store in the interface, and you will be able to see your balance of gibs when browsing the store. Gib balance will not display in the permanent currency tally in the top bar of the interface but can be tracked in this panel.
PHAT LOOT
The Premium Shoppe will have functional items, including:
Trap Part Chests
Rare and Epic Trap Chests (no common or uncommon trap cards)
The Premium Shoppe will also have vanity items, including some exclusives:
Vanity skins
3 exclusive vanity skins, pictured below!
Additional vanity content

A Note About European Publishing for OMDU
We’ve been pretty busy over here on Orcs Must Die! Unchained. Temper is finally back in the game, and we’re working on a ton of polish these days. It’s been a long road to get here, but we’ve got our best days ahead of us. With that in mind, I wanted to let you know about some big changes coming up.
Our European publisher, Gameforge, has been a valuable and supportive partner over the last 3+ years. After careful consideration, we have made the joint decision to combine the European and North American players under the single Robot Entertainment banner. This means that Robot Entertainment will be taking over the publishing and support for all of our players and that we can finally give our community one of their biggest requests – a single account system so you can play with your friends from anywhere in North America and Europe.
But how is this going to work? On March 21st, Gameforge will be emailing each of its OMDU players a unique migration code. Those players will be able to use that unique code to migrate their Gameforge account data to a Robot Entertainment account. More details can be found in the FAQ on the Steam Community Hub.
We look forward to getting to know the EU community and making sure that they are as close to us here at Robot Entertainment as the rest of the community has become.
Thanks!

OMDU Update 1.8 is Live with Temper!
New Hero: Temper
Often surprised by his own anger, this usually mild-mannered minotaur blacksmith now focuses his fiery anger towards defeating the Unchained. One day,he hopes to return to his dwarven family and his home.
Generating rage instead of mana, Temper charges into battle dealing explosive fire damage. He also aggroes enemies, hammering them into submission.
Skills:
Swing! Punch! Smash! (LMB): If used in quick succession, Temper anvil punches, swings his hammer, and delivers anuppercut, building his rage.
Exploding Hammer (RMB): Temper throws his hammer. On impact, it knocks back and damages enemies over time in its radius.
Happy Place (Q): Temper soothes himself, converting rage into health and a movement speed boost. Attacking cancels ability.
Hammer Slam (E): Temper brings both weapons down in front of him, setting the surrounding area on fire.
Bull Rush (Shift): Temper charges forward, knocking back enemies in his path.
Rage of the Forge (Passive): Temper gains strength as he builds rage, exploding at max rage and damaging and knocking back enemies.
New Battleground: Orcatraz
Orcatraz is an infamous Unchained prison filled with vile Order miscreants that can barely be contained. Help the Unchained quell the riots there and stop them from escaping.
New Battleground: Orcri-La
The orcs worshipping at Orcri-La have an odd tradition: they use boulder chutes to sacrifice unbelievers. Use the boulders to keep Order interlopers out and bring your own priest to guard the temple's rift!
New Endless Maps
Baths (1-10)
Throne Room (11-25)
Crogon Keep (46-75)
The Wall (76-100)
New Features: OMD!U and Steam Achievements
We have implemented a new achievement system that allows players to accomplish set goals in OMD!U. Some of these achievements are easy to accomplish, but some will take some time. We've made them as fun and easy to track as possible--they also count as Steam achievements! Find them on the profile page and see if you can complete them all!
Hero Rework: Stinkeye
We’ve received lots of feedback on Stinkeye’s new design and we decided to make some sweeping changes. The new design is more active than before patch 1.6, but less complicated and overwhelming than he is currently. We believe we have found a happy medium. Below are the skills that have changed or have returned to their prior functionality.
Arcane Anomaly (RMB): Conjures an orb of arcane energy that charges and then detonates, dealing arcane damage in a radius.
Zephyr of Oasis (E): Summons a totem that increases the movement speed of allies and slows the movement speed of enemies. May be attacked to destroy the totem and stun nearby enemies for 3 seconds. Note: The size of the totem has been increased significantly.
Wrath of Oasis (Q): Summons a totem that shoots nearby enemies. When shot with Prestidigitized Projectile, the totem shoots 3 projectiles at nearby enemies. Lasts 20 seconds. Note: The size of the totem has been increased significantly.
Shaman’s Blessing (Passive): After a totem expires, a mana orb appears at the totem’s previous location.
Stinkeye Weaver changes:
Reduced Totem Testament's additional projectiles to +1 (from +2).
Reworked Booming Benediction. It now replaces mana orbs that drop from totems with Tears of Oasis, which provide the benefit of three drops(Unchained, mana, and health) combined.
After Intense Anger Management Sessions, the Game’s Most Notorious Tantrum-Thrower Returns
Eventide Fortress, Territories Humaine – February 16, 2017 – After a long struggle with barely-controlled anger issues, controversial minotaur Temper is set to be released Tuesday morning from the Order Institute of Therapeutic Services and Support facility at Eventide. He will be joining the rest of the Order heroes in today’s Orcs Must Die! Unchained beta update.
“Mr. Temper is very remorseful about what happened,” a spokesperson told media gathered today at Eventide Fortress. “Despite the doubts that many dwarves now have about him, he’s eager to begin his new life defending the Order Fortresses from orcs and other monsters. He wants to prove that he now has many valuable ‘Happy Places’ at his mental disposal to help keep his rage in check. We truly believe that he’s a changed minotaur, and urge everyone to not believe what they read in ‘fake news’ articles about his struggles.” Temper himself issued a terse “no comment” when questioned by reporters.
The event referenced by Temper’s spokesperson dates back two years, when Temper – a trained blacksmith – succumbed to what he called “Hanger” and started a fight with Order hero Tundra during a diplomatic meeting. Temper has always maintained that the injuries suffered by the Arctic Prince were accidental, but eye-witnesses described the half-man-half-bull as going on an explosive rampage over a lack of vegetarian options on a lunch menu.
The unusually long stay at the Order Institute of Therapeutic Services and Support has cast a shadow over Temper, with critics of the Order’s only minotaur suggesting that the length of the stay was specifically tied to Temper’s inability to calm his own rage. Adopted and raised by Dwarves at an early age, it has long been speculated that Temper simply lacks the demeanor to adequately participate in Order defense operations with other more delicate creatures. With a war raging for the rifts, many would argue that Temper’s temperament is just what the Order… ordered.
