Double SOMA event
Today we started a Double SOMA event in Otherland: Next that will last the entire week until next Friday. During the event you will receive twice the SOMA from all sources when defeating enemies. All SOMA qualities are affected and the chance to receive higher quality SOMA is increased during this event.
Double XP Event
Today we started a Double XP event in Otherland: Next that will last the entire week until next Friday. During the event you will receive twice the XP from defeating enemies and completing quests. A great opportunity to get some more levels quicker or maybe even roll an alt.
Easter Event
Hello everyone!
It's this time of the year again and our Easter event goes live today and will last for two weeks until 3rd May.
Lambda Mall is now covered in Easter decorations and there are quest givers for five Easter themed quests. You'll also see the return of the player favorite Chocolate Eggs that increase your movement speed and Chocolate Chickens that will charge heavy and special attacks.
These rewards are obtainable through daily quests, so now it's a good opportunity to stuck up on some supplies.
A large patch today!
A large patch today. The servers just came back online with lots of changes to 8Squared to improve performance and enhance some visuals in certain areas we were not happy about. And on top of that the patch brings the new UI.

Otherland: Next in 2019
Hello everyone!
As the whole team is fully back together after the holiday break we figured that for a good moment to give you a small outlook of what to expect in 2019.
While we continue to fix bugs and improve existing mechanics, we are also looking at much larger changes to the game.
First and foremost on our agenda is another run at combat. Rather than focusing on improvements, this time around we want to basically replace the entire combat system. We feel that the last round of improvements did hit the limit of how far we can take the existing combat system and anything beyond that should begin with replacing it.
On the content side we are looking into bringing the NeoGrail storyline to a conclusion. We feel it is about time and there is another good reason to do so: bringing this storyline to an end and have the game be ready story-wise to move forward with a storyline that Tad Williams is cooking up for his next work.
Sitting down with Tad during his visit at the studio last year was a great experience in itself, but more important it set the direction for future content in the game to run together with the new stories he will be publishing for Otherland. We had enough time now to work out the kinks and make another big step to prepare the game for working on new content that reflects directly what Tad may be working on. What this all means is that when Tad releases his new Otherland stories, you will be able to also play them in the game!

Downtime

As announced we will be bringing the servers down today at 16:00 (CET) to disable the xmas content and prepare for the upcoming UI update.
The downtime should last for max one hour.
Xmas Event Ending Soon
Hello everyone!
We will bring the servers offline for several hours tomorrow (10th January) for maintenance and to end the Xmas event. This means you still have a day to wrap up whatever unfinished Xmas business you have and turn in those tokens.
That being said, whatever remaining tokens you have, don’t throw them away, they will remain valid next year when the Xmas event returns.
During the downtime we will also update the servers for the new UI in order to be able to quickly enable it once internal testing is completed. The reason we do it now is because the testing is in its final stage and we should be able to roll out the new UI “any day now”.
