Alpha Patch 1.5.9


Hello Beautiful people
I am happy to say Alpha patch 1.5.9 is now live. This patch / build was aimed entirely at lighting and level design.
Before we jump into the patch notes I just want to say. That during these trying times I hope everyone is ok and staying safe.

PATCH NOTES

  • Lighting adjusted
  • Added fog that enhances lighting
  • Begun the process of adding in rural housing
  • Begun the process of adding in underwater scenery
  • Made some improvements to AI performance
  • AI density and population doubled
  • Remade all the mountains and mountainous areas
  • Made some variations to the trees and grass

1.5.8 mini fix

--Patch Notes--

  • Fixed rain to be cheaper on resources ( You will get a much higher FPS now while its raining)
  • Fixed an issue with beds that was preventing building

Hello beautiful people
Alpha build 1.5.8 is now live. There are a few areas that were focused on for this one. Multi-language support is now implemented. Performance was another focus point. And adding small amounts of polish to a lot of different areas was another point of focus.
For this patch, I was able to get the game running a lot better and using a reduced amount of resources. As a result, I was able to lower the minimum requirements for the game. Also install size was reduced significantly.
I reached out to get some help from some other developers on the performance stuff in the shape of different ideas to try and would like to give a shout out to; Matt, Pat, High five, James and Matt W.
Some notes for this patch; old saves won’t work. It is recommended that people play either using Vsync or frame capping (It uses less GPU).
Let’s jump into the patch notes.
--Patch Notes—
• 15 languages are now supported (English, Arabic -World, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Czech, Danish -Denmark, French – France, German – Germany, Greek – Greece, Italian – Italy, Japanese – Japan, Portuguese – Portugal, Russian – Russia, Spanish – Spain, Swedish – Sweden) – This feature required re-writing every single script the game uses.

• Performance increase (increased by 100 FPS)

• Can now rotate doors when crafting

• Smelting iron takes less time
• Bush ambient sounds gone and replaced with a custom ambient music player (The music player will select ambient music randomly from a daytime and night-time play list)

• Changed menu audio to now play ambient music
• Fixed death bag spawn code bug
• Fixed a bug with changing resolution not working

• Fixed campfire infinite stack bug
• Campfire now has 5 convert slots
• Fixed volume controls not saving and loading
• Adjusted map code

• Replaced the map texture
• Plot poles removed from game
• Beds now also act as fast travel
• Fixed chase range for predatory animals (they don’t chase you endlessly now)
• Fixed AI loot drops (loot will only drop now if the player kills the AI and will no longer spawn if the AI was killed by another AI)
• Melee weapons now have a wider hit detection radius
• Reduced the poly count of every single mesh used
• Added distance fog
• Changed level streaming to improve performance
• Re-wrote every script that used event tick to reduce on frame use.
• Reduced the install size to 3gb
• Trees now fall over after being harvested
• Rocks now crumble after being harvested
• Fixed a bug with exiting the game
• Greatly reduced the minimum requirements to; CPU- Intel (R) Core (TM)2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66GHZ 2.67GHZ, RAM – 4gb, GPU – Nvidia GT1030 2gb

Mini Fix

Patch Notes

  • Fixed player dropping through map
  • Fixed Rednecks spawning in roofs
  • Fixed starting trace point for melee weapons

Bag fix mini patch

This is a super small patch that fixes 1 thing. And that is just the way backpacks add and remove inventory slots.

1.5.7 Mini Fix

Due to player feedback to the 1.5.7 patch, the toon shader option will be offered as something that players can choose for themselves. This feature can be adjusted at any time in the advanced settings section of the main menu. I also added some bug fixes also from player feedback.

PATCH NOTES
• Inventory, crafting and player screens have been recombined and use a single button bind (This was to fix some bugs)
• Removed some key-binds for gamepad that weren’t being used
• Removed hide gui by button press feature
• Adjusted nighttime brightness settings in day and night system
• The player’s torch no longer uses button press but will auto turn on when it is nighttime
• M4A4 Durability settings adjusted
• Fixed the collisions for a bunch of furniture items
• Removed a foliage actor that was causing bugged collisions
• Fixed a few bugs being caused by duplicate exit screens
• Shift + Click quick move has been removed (This will be temporary)

Update 1.5.7 (Australia Day Patch)



Its finally here guys and girls the Aussie day patch has landed. This was a big patch so its best we just jump straight into the patch notes.

Patch 1.5.6


Patch 1.5.6 is now live :D


This patch largely focused on a new feature that will allow players to pick and choose the colour of the in game GUI.
PATCH NOTES

  • Through the advanced tab inside the settings Menu, which is located in the Main menu. Players
    can now change the game GUI and Menu to their favourite colour. Players will also have control of the alpha channel which allows you as a player to decide how transparent (see through) you want the in game GUI to be.
  • The in world menus and GUI were also re-coded to have a cleaner look and to be more compatible with the GUI colour pick feature.
  • Changed some back-end stuff to do with quality settings to allow for better FPS in game.
  • The painting item has been temporarily removed

Update 1.5.5



UPDATE 1.5.5
This update mainly focused on creating a new dynamic weather system for the game and improving the First person experience.
The weather system is designed so that every single day in game should be unique. Even if you have the same weather event as a previous day (e.g lightly cloudy) there should be subtle differences between the two days.

PATCH NOTES



  • Stage 1 of the new Dynamic Weather System Implemented.
  • Fixed a bug with exp and max exp not saving
  • Fixed a few AI bugs
  • Increased the distance at which towns will load in and unload out
  • Trees and rocks will no longer re-spawn (This is to encourage exploration)
  • All Ai sounds fixed (Now Ai will use sounds within the 3d environment instead of playing on the UI. This means you will be able to locate them better by using just sound)
  • Fixed an issue where to many AI would spawn in when loading back into the game
  • Fixed Furnace not placing on dirt
  • Behind the scenes improvements where added to reduce the amount of RAM being used while playing the game
  • All weapons and weapon cameras have been tweaked and re-aligned to improve the player's experience when using first person view.
