Hi, everyone! Ragtag Crew development is currently on hold because of the political situation in Belarus. The team is taking part in nation-wide protests, but we’ll be back =)
Today we’re going to introduce a truly obnoxious enemy - Alarm Drone. Alarm Drone is not suited for combat: its weapon hits like a kitten and its armor is not that tough.
What robot lacks in damage, it makes up with being extremely annoying. Creating a deafening soundwave is one way to do so. Don’t get hit by it, or your character will spend their turn confused, while stronger enemies turn the rest of the party into red mist.
Either shoot it down quickly or make the drone use its tiny gun with taunts. Or you can try your best to ignore it!
Hello, everyone! We continue researching the ranks of the bots, and today our guest is Heavy Cannon Mech. As you can imagine by the name, this robot hits like a truck. Indeed its powerful weapon will tear through armor, flesh, and bones of the crew unless you do something.
Gladly the robot is not without a weakness: every turn, you can destabilize the mechanism by attacking it. Each point of damage done will be subtracted from its attack power for the turn, so with enough pressure, you can make it not much more dangerous than a kitten.
Sadly, this machine never attacks alone, so dedicating your entire team to shutting it down may be complicated. This is where multitarget abilities and life loss effects come into play! Both are great ways to keep the mech in check while dealing with different threats at the same time.
Today we’re taking a look at yet another steel guardian. This time it’s Grenadier Mech. While Grenadier Mech can do some severe damage with its machine guns, but its real purpose is to cover the team with flash grenades.
Grenades don’t wound your crew but are still quite annoying. Every character who suffers a hit gets all their secondary abilities exhausted. Even worse, these grenades hit the whole team at once! After that, your only options are using your Main Ability to refresh the others or hit enemies with Basic Attacks.
Is there a way to avoid it? Well, yes! You can always provoke the mech into attacking instead or dodge the explosion with the most important characters. Or you can accept you get hit: if everything is exhausted already, grenades won’t do much harm. Grenadier cannot throw two shells in a row anyway, so you’ll have your opportunity for payback.
Hi, everyone! Today we continue looking at the steel guardians team and its damage dealer - Artillery Mech.
This robot has one of the meanest weapons in the game and is capable of quickly destroying one of your crew members.
Good news - its laser cannon is rather fragile. If the robot takes any damage, its weapon will lose a big chunk of its power. Bad news - the mech is protected with a force field, so no harm can be done until the shields are depleted.
There is more than one way to deal with the shields. One is to focus fire the bot, another is to use life loss abilities (like Alchemist’s potion or Tamer’s bird attack). The life loss effect will damage artillery mech every round and bypass the force field completely.
Today we’re going to take a look at far lands of the east. These cursed plains are no place for human life, only ruins. And ruins have guardians - steel machines always watching for marauders like you. Every robot is built to fight in a group and has a specific role in the team. Fire Support Unit is no exception. Let’s take a closer look:
Fire Support Unit is not great at shooting targets. Its purpose is to observe the battle, coordinate teams fire and find breaches in enemies’ defenses. Its very presence on the battlefield gives other robots a boost to all damage due to superior targeting.
That’s not all. Every turn Support Unit is going to scan one of your characters, looking for their weakness and passing the info to your enemies. This scan works like Technomancers ability: it lowers targets armor till the fight is over. Armor can go negative, so your crew will start taking extra damage from every attack. Add an “innate” damage bonus to that and even the smallest robot will hit like a truck.
Deal with this annoying tin can quick or become worm food. Good luck and remember to stay alert in the desert.
Hi, everyone! Today we present a very special enemy - the Mule.
This “gentleman” would rather not participate in the battle at all. All he cares about is the cargo (and life obviously). To get away with both this scavenger will need 2 turns: one to find an opening for escape and the other to run for it.
Finally, an opponent who isn’t trying to take your life! What? You want to get his goods? You better act quickly and shoot the slippery fellow before he leaves the battlefield. Be sure, everybody else won’t just stand watching: they’ll unleash hell on your team.
Took the mule down and won the fight? Get a valuable piece of equipment as a bonus! Don’t overestimate yourself: the only thing worse than not getting bonus equipment is losing the lives of your crew members.
Hello, everyone! Time has come to showcase yet another background available for your Ragtag Crew! Today it’s the Mercenary!
Mercenary is a former elite bodyguard equipped with pieces of ancient technology. He puts them to good use protecting his allies with shields and tearing through groups of enemies.
Mercenary starts with 2 abilities:
Piercing beam - Mercenary uses his particle projector to hit two targets in a straight line dealing moderate damage.
Protect - Mercenary covers himself and a chosen ally with a small force field granting both characters shields.
That’s only the beginning. Mercenary is capable of learning the other Elimination or Support abilities. Use it to push him in the direction you want. Will your Mercenary be an unbreakable defender or the force of pure destruction? You decide!
Hi, everyone! We have some news to share with all of you:
1. We have to push the release date to Q4 2020. We are sorry for failing all the people who put hopes in the release, but there is still a lot of work ahead of us. We love Ragtag Crew and want to make the game as good as possible.
2. We want to thank the guys, who translated our devlogs into French. We were pleasantly surprised when we found out. Here is a link to their website: www.rpgjeuxvideo.com
3. Last but not least, we’re attending Devgamm Minsk 2019. We will participate in the Showcase, so you can try Ragtag Crew and meet us :).
Again, we apologize for pushing the release date. Regarding the next delvog, here is a little teaser of a new playable background.
Hi, everyone! We continue the theme of powerful opponents by introducing the new enemy: the Gang Leader. This fearsome woman has some of the most violent criminals in the wasteland under her control. If her minions aren’t enough she is always ready to handle the problem herself.
Gang leader’s first weapon is her special knife. If one of your crew members gets hit by that blade, you’ll have to face a difficult choice: either your character skips their turn doing nothing except treating their wounds or they’ll suffer heavy bleeding until the end of the fight.
Gang leader’s second weapon is her loyal Rat Canine. This big brute rushes into battle at the flick of her finger and will do everything to protect its owner.
On top of all that, you’ll have to face her ever-present bodyguards. This fight is going to be tough, but the reward is sure worth it. If you overcome all these challenges, not only you will get some sweet cash, but also be able to claim her special weapon.
