The Livestock Update - May 28th



Howdy folks! The big day is coming soon, so we've got the changes for you early! As this is adding a lot of new content to the game, we will be wiping all servers when this patch goes live on May 28th at 10 AM PDT.

Added 5/29:

  • Updated texture for barn full straw foundation pieces.
  • All guards and bounty hunters now block BuildObject (this will stop them from falling into foundations when placed on them).
  • Added some animation variation to blacksmith.
  • Fixed dupe bug with crafting storages.
  • Bull material fix.
  • Added zoomed out camera when placing large buildings.
  • Adjusted efficiency on 1 handed axe and metal pickaxe so they gather more than primitive versions.
  • Fixed guild member not being able to move structures.
  • Took out sweep that was causing large lag when placing stairs.
  • Changed build support distance to 3.
  • Made support checks look for weak support improving overall build support checking system.
  • Fix cheating of foundation placement by building towards another players build using foundations.
  • Integrated Vivox fix for locals that use commas as number seperators.
  • Fixed some issues with the build configuration for sloped roofs also removed potential exploit.
  • Fixed soilgrid giving items with weapons.
  • Fixed potential issue with cowhouse loading.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed world offset issue with stove in trade and stay.
  • Modified storage boxes to implement same functionality as safe and drop loot when destroyed. - Increased length of test for ground when spawning loot bags for destroyed safes.
  • Fixed certain crafting actors that could not take damage. (ex. Beehive)
  • Refactor list of build mesh actors to no longer use a seperate list of indexes, makes code more efficient and less error prone.
  • Fixed train loading issues on server restart that was breaking their functionality.
  • Set up sloped ceilings to be treated as ceiling pieces instead of walls.
  • Added extra check in stair depth checks to ensure we only consider step types.
  • Change get build manager to use placeable build manager which works consistently.
  • Made wells properly find items to refill.
  • Added support tests to sloped roofs to prevent people from exploiting them for raiding.
  • Fixed wild livestock like sheep from being immediately destroyed because they were not tied to an animal house.
  • Fixed livestock animals from being destroyed on server restart if their home was destroyed.
  • Fridges spoil items slower.

  • Added LODs to train smoke.
  • Fixed Stable foliage removal and polished.
  • Fixed Foliage mask on Tailor, Polished lighting, Fixed Phys material.

May 21st - 1.1.8 Patch Notes



Howdy! Finally, towns will have a place where you can buy a drink and trade stories. So buy yourself a drink and settle in!

  • Added Trade & Stay, a building where respawns can be purchased but is also a safezone where players cannot equip weapons or get damaged. It also has a working stove that is public use.
  • Added check to ensure no morality is lost when killing owned animals.
  • Fixed fridge playing open sound whenever it is focused/unfocused.
  • Removed ability to generate infinite stamina on a horse by swapping horseshoes.
  • Fixed chat issue when blocking players. Blocking a player will no longer block other players' chat, all messages will be filtered from blocked player.
  • Horse summon is working again, reduced distance at which the horse will attempt to navigate to the player.
  • Fixed health values of buildings/actors both on placement and loading.
  • Fixed reconnection of build actors to owning structures on load. (Blowing up buildings should no longer leave floating build items if they were properly saved)
  • Fixed radial damage from explosives not hitting placed actors at certain angles.
  • Fixed scrolling weapons when scrolling chat.
  • Added extra check to ensure mount is not left in sprinting mode when dismounted to fix stamina draining bug.
  • Ensured target practices can be deleted using the radial.
  • Fixed animal spawn biomes to no longer block building traces (fixes issues with large portions of land having building blocked on them).
  • Fixed Quarterhorse material list to match purchasable material list on the stable.
  • Gunshop bottles now actually function as target practice bottles.
  • Modified all children actors of prefabs to fix offset issues (disappearing vendors).
  • Fixed two startup crashes related to audio manager.
  • Added a potential fix for inconsistent building render issue.
  • Fixed sheep being constantly harvestable.
  • Fixed visual change for sheep who are ready to be sheared.
  • Fixed lasso to properly set tamed livestock back to wander mode when detached.
  • Added delay in livestock wander movement that stops animals from constantly wandering back and forth.
  • Fixed bank clearing all data when players died during a server save.

The Livestock Update: May 28th



Howdy Outlaws!

We are excited to bring you the “cow” in cowboy with this new update. Build a barn, tend to the new free roaming Cattle or Turkeys, and farm up plants with Farm Beds. This update is coming May 28th, so keep a sharp eye out on the horizon. Here are some screenshots for you to enjoy:

May 14th - 1.1.7 Patch Notes

Well shoot, didn't expect to see ya there! Oh I know, no new fancy pants prefab building for you to buy. But plenty of changes are a comin!

  • Added gallows decoration item, craftable from player inventory.
  • Fixed train tracks going into the ground when there is water nearby underneath the landscape.
  • Added valid checks to some UI functions to improve client performance on certain windows.

  • Fixed server crash when saving invalid crafting queue items.
  • Increased gunshop vendor inventory size that was hiding a couple options at the bottom of the list.

  • Made tool tip more opaque and shifted missing resource red text color. Hoping this helps overall readability and those who are colorblind.

  • Added valid checks to AI spawn point and fish spawning volumes to remove errors from log.
  • Fixed reload issue where server did not have the ammo class loaded intermitently.
  • Updated horse follow distance to help prevent people losing horses that are following them.
  • Added extra perception removal check when perceived enemy is dead.
    Chat messages from blocked players no longer show in the chat window.

Well look at that, a new stable is opening in town. Looks like we're gonna be able to buy horses in town now!

April 23rd Official Server Wipe

Howdy Outlaws,

We know you have been enjoying the world of Outlaws, and without you this game would not be where it is today. With that in mind, it’s high time we hit the restart button on Official Servers.

Tonight at 5PM Pacific we will be wiping all Official Servers. This will help immeasurably with stability, as well as reset progress on anyone who has exploited in the past. We will also be shutting down some servers to help keep each remaining server population at a healthy number. We will, of course, monitor and re-add servers as necessary.

Our goal is to make playing on Official Servers a positive experience. We understand that server wipes can be disruptive and endeavor to do so when the benefits outweigh the costs.

Thank you all for your support and understanding.

April 23rd - 1.1.4 Patch Notes



Some people ain't cut out for the life of an Outlaw, and are content with just makin' stuff for 'em. The Blacksmith is one such profession, and you'll be able to put one down for yourself soon enough.

  • Updated various shops and buildings to new custom foliage removal and new lighting system.
  • Made stool that you can sit on, craftable at the Carpentry Bench.

Code:

  • Ice fuel will no longer be sorted into the storage on auto-sort.
  • Fixed duplication bug on the auction house.
  • Made chat not send message on out of focus, only on pressing enter.
  • New feature, salvaging which breaks down craftable metal items to a portion of their original recipe. This is currently used by the forge in the blacksmith building.
  • New feature, blacksmith vendor that sells items to players.
  • Prevent getting stuck on a chair when sitting.
  • Fixed barn animals not loading their tamed state and running away from owner.
  • Fixed item cost in vendor windows not displaying the correct ammount.
  • Fixed race condition in crafting actor saving code.
  • Made sure a bunch of different item classes updated their final possition immediately on clients after being moved by a player.
  • Made the ORR server mode online list more accurate, to prevent possible looting.
  • Take all button now also takes money from player loot.
  • Fixed fences not reloading from save because the class wasn't immediately there always.
  • Fixed fences to be destroyable by sledgehammer.
  • Removed radial menus from livestock, players can interact with the correct tools and retrieve the resources. (Milk and Wool)
  • Fixed livestock regeneration after server reload.

Optimization:

  • Fixed issue where barn animals were increasing overtime with no cap.
  • Fixed barn animals doubling in count on every restart.
  • Removed some VFX calculations that were being run on the server.
  • Stopped trains from causing a navigation update on every move.

Audio:

  • Designed new item inventory placement sfx and implemented them; adjusted their sound cue's pitch and volume settings.
  • Updated stone building placement cue with new high pitched brick layer sound.
  • Created new sounds for small item pickup, implemented and adjusted sound cue volume and pitch.
  • Updated buildings with correct building placement sfx.
  • Implemented inventory sounds for new buildings - pickup, place, drop, destroy and stacking sfx.
  • Created sound layers for movement with melee weapon equipped.
  • Adjusted length of swimming and sprint swimming sfx in all directions to make sure they crossfade better.
  • Improved procedural debris and ambient sfx spawn values.
  • Adjusted volumes of ambient, wind and rain sound classes.

  • Fixed Stats UI not being hooked to the stats backend sometimes on server join.

  • Decreased delay value of shells impact sfx on different surfaces
  • Designed and implemented new blacksmith hammer impact sounds
  • Adjusted volume and attenuation of desert sidewinder, prairie king snake and western diamondback movement sfx
  • Increased volume of first person sights in/out, as well as bow, pistol, rifle and shotgun FP movement details
  • Increased animals' startled sfx attenuation radius and decreased fish movement sfx attenuation
  • Turned down emotes class volume
