Hi everyone and welcome to this short dev update on Outliver: Tribulation, an atmospheric, story-driven, action-adventure third-person shooter that blends gameplay elements and combat styles from the Survival-Horror and Souls-like genres with African mythology where you play as the soldier who mysteriously ends up in a supernatural realm, of which her only way out is to partake in an ancient ritual....


In this update, we focused primarily on adding support for multiple languages to make the game more accessible to a wider audience as some gamers have suggested. After much deliberation, we decided to add up to 10 languages and we are pleased to announce that Outliver: Tribulation now officially supports French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese Brazil, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Turkish.


We also added a quality of life/convenience feature that makes it easy for new gamers especially those struggling with the English language to avoid the trouble of having to painstakingly navigate around menus to select their preferred language. We call it the "First Launch Language Setup Prompt", and as the name implies, when the game is launched for the first time, this window pops up to allow the gamer to select a preferred language before the main menu is revealed.

Localisation update!

We added localisation support for 10 languages including German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese Brazil, Russian, Turkish and Chinese (simplified). Stayed tuned for a more detailed blog post!

Outliver: Tribulation | Dev update 17 | Achievement, Performance & Visual Update

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to the 17th development update of Outliver: Tribulation, A Third-Person Action-Adventure Souls-Like Survival Horror shooter where you play as a soldier who mysteriously ends up in the Realm of Tribulations, a supernatural realm of African mythology where she unwillingly has to undergo an ancient ritual in the hopes of regaining passage back to her realm.


In this update, we share with you the latest changes and additions we have made to the game based on our roadmap and recommendations from players. First of all, we updated the game from Unreal Engine 5.1 to 5.3 to take advantage of the awesome improvements the Epic Games team has made to the engine, especially in the performance department.


We also updated the visuals of the game by boosting the light exposures making the scenes generally brighter as well as adding more detail in general to the maps and most notably, overhauling the visuals of the Guardians Arena map, taking it from a plain and barren old look to a now more detailed and interesting look.


Based on a player's feedback, we worked on fixing some achievement bugs where achievements completed while playing offline don't update when you come online. Completed achievements are now saved and refreshed at regular intervals to update when next you play the game online. Also based on another player's very recent suggestion, we have added a new achievement to the game called "The Outliver" which unlocks after you have completed every other achievement in the game.


Lastly, Outliver: Tribulation is currently on sale on Steam at a %60 discount! so make sure to get your copy now if you haven't already. Outliver: Tribulation | Dev update #16 | New Features!

Hi everyone and welcome to this development update on our survival horror action game, Outliver: Tribulation, where you play as a soldier who mysteriously ends up in the Realm of Tribulations, a supernatural realm of African mythology where she unwillingly has to undergo an ancient ritual in the hopes of regaining passage back to her realm.



Fresh off the heels of our last "Warchief" Update where we added two difficulty modes, a new achievement, a refreshed UI and more gameplay balance tweaks!


We continued on with our commitment to supporting Outliver: Tribulation, and as a result, we have just released our newest update where we polished and improved the game by adding some much needed and requested features, all of which we will go through in today's update.


Firstly, based on user request and also in keeping up with modern convention, we have added a "Toggle" option for running, which is now the game's default option. You can also switch back to the older "press and hold" option to run in the settings menu for those who prefer that option.


We have also seen situations where players don't immediately know where to go or what their actions have just accomplished. In this update, your player's camera now smoothly pans towards important locations or doors you have just unlocked as a result of solving riddles or completing quests among others.


Lastly, along with various bug fixes and additional balance tweaks, we also reduced the feeling of jerkiness by smoothing out the blending between various camera states and character movement animations, especially when you abruptly stop moving while running.

Update (v1.2.0.2) Notes for Oct 23rd 2023

Hi everyone, The latest update for Outliver: Tribulation (v1.2.0.2) focuses on polish by adding:

- A "Run type" option to the settings where you can choose between toggling or hold the run button to run.

- A camera feedback where the camera moves to highlight points of interest or the result of players recent action like unlocking a door that could be out of players view.

- Improvements to blending between characters movement states to further smoothen it out

- Improvements to blending between camera's various positions.

- More balance tweaks to combat.

Aside from the above, we also made some other minor tweaks to the overall game to further improve the gameplay experience.

Outliver: Tribulation | Dev update #15 | The War Chief Update!

Hi everyone and welcome to this development update on our survival horror action game, Outliver: Tribulation where you play as a soldier who mysteriously ends up in the Realm of Tribulations, a supernatural realm of African mythology where she unwillingly has to undergo an ancient ritual in the hopes of regaining passage back to her realm.


It’s been one month since the launch of Outliver: Tribulation and we have been hard at work listening to and acting on feedback from the community. As a result, we are pleased to announce the release of the War Chief update based on user requests, where we split the game into two difficulty modes: the easy mode and the hard mode.


- The easy mode is the current mode in the game where we’ve further reduced the difficulty to make the game more accessible. Enemies now have lower health and deal lesser damage to players. We also increased the interval between the wanderer's attack waves so players have more time to explore and solve riddles thereby making the gameplay much easier to get through.


- The hard mode on the other hand is the new gameplay mode where things will be more challenging. Enemies in the hard mode have higher health and deal more damage to the players among other little tweaks which make the game more challenging.


- In order to encourage players to try out and beat the game in the new hard mode difficulty, we have added a new "War Chief" achievement to the game to go along with the update.


- We’ve also simplified the riddles by making the clues and instructions clearer and much easier to understand along with adjusting the damage you take from failing a riddle to be lower when playing in easy mode and higher when playing in hard mode.

- Lastly, we tweaked the UI of the game to make it more appealing and fixed the sound inconsistency issue some players complained about.


We hope this update makes the game a lot more fun to play. The War Chief Update (v1.1.0.0)
