Gameplay


  • Fixed an issue that could cause players that jumped during relocation to take fall damage for the distance traveled
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to get stuck in the air if they performed a vault action during relocation


Visuals


  • Fixed a floating bear trap in 'Hell or High Water'
  • Fixed a visual issue where a crawler spawn on 'No Sanctuary' appeared like a regular brick wall
  • Fixed an ammo box clipping through a bureau in 'No Sanctuary'
  • Fixed an issue with object visibility inside an apartment on 'No Sanctuary'
  • Fixed some asset popping inside the Church in 'No Sanctuary'
  • Fixed some visual errors (z-fighting) in 'No Sanctuary'
  • Fixed an issue in the Power Electronics store in 'No Sanctuary' where you could see through the floor
  • Fixed an issue where enemies were able to see players through tarp in the beginning of 'No Sanctuary'
  • Added a smoother fadeout to the critically hurt visual effect
  • Fixed an issue that could affect players when being grappled from the left, causing the camera not to turn to the walker, giving the impression of "invisible walkers"
  • Fixed a floating resource item in the firing range of 'Join or Die'


Audio


  • Adjusted audio across 'No Sanctuary' - volumes and VO reverb
  • Fixed an issue where client players wouldn't hear any mission related VO
  • Fixed an issue where the sound of a gate opening or closing would loop indefinitely


Crashes & Freezes


  • Fixed an issue where a client could get stuck in 0% loading before a mission
  • Fixed an issue where the game would freeze if Steam was shut down while the game was running
  • Fixed an issue where the game would crash when players tried to close the game


Levels


  • Fixed a pathing issue in 'The First Shot' - in the upstairs tent where walkers could get stuck
  • Fixed a pathing issue in 'Hell or High Water' where walkers could get stuck near the park in front of the laundromat
  • Fixed objective marker not updating properly on 'No Sanctuary' when opening the deserter's cage
  • Fixed an issue on 'Open Season' that would spawn big groups of walkers in some areas, while leaving others completely empty. The spawn should now be more spread out
  • Fixed an issue in 'No Sanctuary' where drop-in clients could access the previous parts of the map through a door near the parking lot escape
  • Fixed an issue in 'No Sanctuary' that could cause players to get teleported when interacting with the gate in the first military camp
  • Fixed an issue on 'No Sanctuary' where walkers in the street would despawn if the players walked into the cafeteria
  • Fixed a returning issue where the key on 'Join or Die' could get stuck outside of the playable area
  • Fixed an issue where a player could get stuck if climbing a wall in 'Join or Die'
  • Fixed an issue in 'Open Season' that could cause walkers to despawn unintentionally
  • Fixed an exploit on 'Join or Die' where players could skip ahead inside the military camp by jumping over a wall
  • Reduced the amount of loot spawning on 'No Sanctuary' for the OVERKILL difficulty
  • Moved a possible chest spawn out of a locked room on 'Join or Die'
  • Fixed an issue that would cause walkers to despawn near an escalator in 'Open Season'


Network


  • Added improvements to matchmaking to ensure that prioritization wouldn't prevent the player from joining a session
  • Improved networking flow to increase stability during loading


Other


  • Fixed an issue where players who had signed up to Skybound Insiders were unable to claim their rewards as the 'User was already registered'

Update 1.1.1 Patch Notes

We hope you’ve all been having a good time with the mission, ‘No Sanctuary’ that we released yesterday. And a big welcome to any new player who’s joining us with Starter edition!

In today’s blazing fast update we’re doing some fixes and adding some localized strings that didn’t quite make it in yesterday.

Balancing


  • Fixed an issue in which walkers would be rellocated (appear/disappear) in higher difficulties


Levels


  • Fixed an issue in No Sanctuary that would make drop-in players unable to help with the refueling puzzle due to a missing interaction prompt
  • Fixed some extra spots in Open Season where Reina could get stuck when following players
  • Fixed an issue in Anderson Camp Defense in which players could end up flying by doing a very specific hacky sequence of movements
  • Fixed an issue in Anderson Camp Walker Defense in which walkers could not go through one of the tents in the upper floor
  • Removed a debug text appearing in Eckington Camp after rescuing the Deserter
  • Fixed an issue in which sparkle sounds could loop for too long


Localization


  • Fixed an issue in which subtitles did not appear for all languages in the tutorial video
  • Corrected some lines of text that were still being displayed in English

S02E01 - No Sanctuary - Live!



Hello Survivors!

Today we’re happy to announce the first episode of Season 2 for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, the brand new mission ‘No Sanctuary’! The patch is live right now, so get updating and you’ll be able to play as soon as your download is complete. This is a free update for everyone that owns the Standard or Deluxe edition of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead.

Update Size: 5.4 GB

New Content


  • Added new mission ‘No Sanctuary’
  • Added new camp NPC, the deserter
  • Added new lore items
  • Added new achievements


Requested Features


  • Added VOIP. "Push to talk" is default, the key is unbound
  • Adding OVERKILL and Night Raid skins for the secret characters
  • Improved Steam Packaging for quicker patch installation - this will cause today’s update to appear larger than it really is as the game will need to be reorganized to work with the new update system
  • Matchmaking now prioritizes "new games" if you never completed that mission before


Loading


  • Added loading screen tips and lore
  • Added loading bars showing the progress of other players
  • Improved the speed at which connections to other players are established


Difficulty Balancing


Walkers
  • Adjusted walker grapple distance to scale with difficulty
  • Adjusted Walker AI pathfinding, there should be fewer “safe corners” to hide in now


Human Enemies
  • Adjusted aggressiveness and damage to scale with difficulty
  • Brigade defense maps have been rebalanced, and should now be easier


Friendly AI
  • Made several improvements to their AI to avoid getting "lost" in the levels


Tutorials


  • Added a new tutorial video explaining the game mechanics
  • Added skippable Tutorials for menus and metagame such as camp upgrades and character skills


HUD


  • Added ‘low health’ visual effect
  • Visual screen effect when you are on fire


Stability Improvements


  • Fixed various stability issues and crashes
  • Optimization of missions for a smoother experience
  • Added additional failsafes against corruption of save files, we now store local failsafe files which will update once per game session. If you’re still experiencing save issues after the update, please let us know and check out this guide on how to restore your progress


Starter Edition


As of today, we’re introducing the Starter Edition. Read more over in our FAQ.

Update 1.0.7 Patch - Hotfix

Some people have reported performance issues with latest patch 1.0.7.

We re-cooked the game completely, tested it this weekend and re-uploaded it to Steam. This will hopefully fix it.

  • Added a "Remove walkers from elevator" message to the elevator in 'Last Stop'
  • Fixed an issue in 'Last Stop' that caused the elevator fail to play sounds
  • Made sure the elevator in 'Last Stop' followed the same rules as in 'Listening In' where you are allowed to close the elevator doors even if there are walkers inside
  • Fixed an issue in 'Last Stop' that wouldn't let the players use the elevator if one or more players were waiting to respawn after death
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Last Stop’ where solo players would respawn at the start of the mission after dying close to the extraction area
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Open Season’ where Reina could get in trouble when trying to jump down off one of the trucks


UI


  • Added a missing image in the Camp Upgrades menu
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the crafting menu to not appear properly, instead only showing the black band
  • Fixed an issue causing Bridger's Falco Knife to be unobtainable (lore item reward)
  • Fixed an issue where existing Skybound Insiders would not be able to claim their bonus skins
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to freeze in the loading screen after missions for clients


Gameplay/AI


  • Fixed an issue that made the Team Player achievement unobtainable.
  • Fixed an issue in Camp Defense levels where Brigade soldiers could get stuck in cover and stop attacking the players


Savegame/Crashes


  • Recently purchased Camp Upgrades should no longer be reverted if the game crashes
  • Fixed several crashes thanks to community reports

Update 1.0.6 Patch Notes



Survivors,

With this update we’ve fixed quite a few of the most commonly reported crash causes. Since some of these issues are highly hardware/setup dependant, please make sure to keep pressing “send” on the Unreal crash popup, so we can continue fixing these. Also, these crashes could lead to progress loss, so we’ve added extra safeguards to keep your progress.

  • Fixed an issue in "Open Season" that could prevent progression if a player died with a fuel can in their possession
  • Fixed an issue with an optional objective marker in "Open Season" not disappearing when the players progressed past it
  • Fixed an issue where players could climb a vehicle to travel out of bounds in "Open Season"
  • Fixed an issue on "Open Season" where a shotgun trap would sometimes hover
  • Fixed an issue on "Open Season" where drop-in clients could vault past the red barrier and get out of bounds
  • Fixed and issue on "Open Season" where the objective marker on the shutters would sometimes fail to update
  • Fixed an issue where the key could spawn outside of player reach on "Join or Die"
  • Fixed a teleportation loop that could occur in "Last Stop"


Gameplay


  • Fixed an issue that could cause toolkit salvages/dismantles to not grant any resources, or planks to not properly apply to doors
  • Fixed an issue where players could continue interactions after being teleported
  • Fixed an issue where client players would be unable to collect lore items if the host already had them
  • Weekly missions will now always display in the HUD Mission Log


Crashes


  • Potential fix for crash caused by vaulting
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when starting a level
  • Fixed several other causes for crashing across multiple maps/events.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a drop-in client to crash if the mission was won during loading


Translations


  • Fixed various objective text being cut off due to length in the French translation
  • Various corrections to the German translation


Savegame


  • Multiple fixes to protect game saves against corruption
