This is our original Cabin map, only now we've extended it and added more stuff. It offers a unique horror atmosphere, with wood creaks and dark ambient lighting.
It has 4 floors and each floor can be possessed by 1 Ghost (each floor is potential Ghost Area). The Cabin brings a fresh perspective into Ghost Hunting, presenting a single building with multiple Ghosts inside!
HAUNTED INTERACTIONS
Haunted Interactions are also back in OverNight! These include Coffins and Hanging Stars. With these, every interaction counts, so be careful what you touch, as you might provoke the Ghosts!

OverNight: UPDATE 0.6
OverNight v0.6 is coming this Christmas! It will be featured in the Steam Winter Sale event at a 90% discount.
With this update we are adding new content to the OverNight. We are adding 2 NEW MAPS, along with new Ghost mechanic feature - GHOST HAUNTING (REPUTATION).
Because this is a bigger update, we are splitting it into two parts: - Part 1 (Christmas update): New 'Cabin in the Woods' map with Haunted Interactions - Part 2 (New Year update): New 'Manor' map with GHOST HAUNTING (REPUTATION) feature
PART 1
'Cabin in the Woods' is our original Cabin map, only now we've extended it and added more stuff! It has 4 floors and each floor can be possessed by 1 Ghost (each floor is a potential Ghost Area).
Haunted Interactions are also back in OverNight! This includes Pentagram, Coffins and Hanging Stars. With these, every interaction counts, so be careful what you touch, as you might provoke the Ghosts!

PART 2
'Manor' is our new map. It is a single building (with multiple Ghosts), just like Cabin. It features 3 separate Ghost Areas that can be possessed by 1 Ghost.
GHOST HAUNTING (REPUTATION) is our new Ghost mechanic that enhances the connection between the Ghost and Player. Based on your actions, Ghost might like or hate you.
If the Ghost grows to like you (you gain positive GHOST REPUTATION), it will more easily give you evidence and it won't be much dangerous in general. But if the Ghost starts to hate you (you gain negative GHOST REPUTATION), it will be more aggressive and evidence will be harder to catch.

PLAYER PROGRESSION AND INVENTORY
Leveling is introduced with our new Progression System v1.0.
Along with that we have the in-game currency called OverNight Coins, which you can use to buy Items. Inventory system is also implemented as a part of the Player Progression.
MULTIPLE GHOSTS PER SESSION
There can can up to 4 Ghosts in a Session at the same time. With each Ghost possessing 1 Area (House) on the map.
GHOST HUNTING GAME MODE
We are introducing new game mode to OverNight. The goal is to find and guess the right Ghosts possessing the Areas (Houses) on the map.
You can use Items for detection and evidence gathering, but you can also observe the Ghost behavior and make a guess based on its unique traits (abilities).
GHOST MECHANICS
We have also completely redesigned our Ghost behavior.
Once the Ghost possesses the Area (House) it will usually pick its favorite location (mostly around a specific room) and spend most of the time there. Ghost can occasionally leave that location and roam the possessed Area (House).
Ghost Events are physical manifestations and can happen around the Ghosts favorite location only. Ghost Hunts are also physical manifestations but it's also a time when Ghost can kill Players. Hunts happen when sanity of the Players inside the possessed Area (House) reaches certain limit (threshold).
Each Ghost has its own set of unique traits (abilities).

We brought back all original Items with the addition of new ones: - EMF - Thermometer - Motion Sensor - Penta Pod - Thermo Flash - Photo Camera - Video Camera - Smudge Sticks - Sanity Pills

Development update
We got the feedback on the new version of the OverNight with the mission and objectives and the Witch ghost, and we feel like the OverNight is headed in the wrong direction - it should focus more on ghost exploration and investigation mechanics, like with the original concept that we have started with.
So with that in mind, we are taking a step back to the previous design (similar as in 0.2 and 0.3), and we will be further developing and improving the OverNight from there.
Here are some of the key changes we are making:
MAPS
We are switching to a completely new map, larger than the current one (the Cabin). It is a suburban area with multiple houses, which you will be able to explore in a single session. Based on testing, we might consider to increase the number of players to 6 in the session.
GHOSTS
Multiple invisible Ghosts per session are back - with improved AI behavior! We are bringing back and improving the old Ghost behavior, where Ghost can chose its active room, roam and leave evidence around the location. And further more, we are adding the Ghost Abilities to better define with which Ghost you are dealing with. We will also try to keep the Good/Bad Ghost concept, but with a new approach...
EXPLORE AND INVESTIGATE MECHANICS
The goal of the session will be to explore the haunted locations and investigate all the paranormal you can find. This means finding the Ghosts and identifying them based on their behavior, evidence and abilities. All equipment will be available in every session, no matter the location and map size!
NEW ITEMS
We are bringing all the original items back and adding new ones. Some of them will be the standard Ghost hunting equipment - like EMF, Temperature reader and so on, but we will also introduce some of the new ones... Special and Haunted items will also be introduced as a new feature.
ENHANCED GHOST COMMUNICATION
During the development we had many chances to experiment with the Ghost communication, and we will try to combine all the fun stuff in the new version. This means that opening the communication with Ghost will be much more available during the session - the Spirit Box will be the most common item to get in touch with the Ghosts. We want to give you a opportunity to ask the Ghost random stuff and always get some kind of a response. This also means you can ask the Ghost to 'Open the door' or 'Turn on the lights' and see what happens then!
PLAYER AND GHOST ABILITIES
There will be multiple Ghosts defined in the OverNight, each will have its own set of evidence and abilities that will define their behavior. We are also adding the 'Player Ability system' which will be something like a skills for the player. Player abilities will branch into multiple areas, which will define the style in which the player wants to play.
PLAYER PROGRESSION
We are also introducing the player leveling mechanics. Leveling will be unlocking the new difficulties and ability points.
With all of this we are fixing and improving the existing mechanics and bugs. The interaction system will be improved - this means easier sitting and standing up from the chairs :)!

Version 0.4 is finally out!
This is it, the first mission is here, and the real OverNight journey starts here.
OverNight new design is defined with missions which contain custom ghosts and mechanics. With each mission you will get to experience custom and unique paranormal experience, from missions with communicating and playing games with the ghosts - to hunting them down and performing exorcism sessions.
You can expect new updates with the new missions in the coming weeks, as well as constantly improving the existing ones in the regular small updates. Our goal is to release all the missions that we have prepared, and further improve with smaller updates as we go further.

The goal of this is update is to fix all technical issues and create the stable gameplay foundation on which we can further build upon and expand.
We have fixed all known technical issues and bugs and with its current state, the game is now ready for new content and further development. From now on, all future updates will be mainly focused on adding new content and mechanics.
