PACER has been out for less than a week and our team here at R8Games are incredibly happy that you are all finally all able to enjoy the incredible amount of work our team have put into the game - but our work is just beginning!
We've been listening to your feedback and have begun to systematically evaluate and address every thought and comment sent our way! As such, today we have released our first patch for PACER to improve the experience for the few and the many!
Here's the low-down on what is included and addressed in PACER Patch 1.03!
Patch 1.03 includes various crash and stability fixes including:
- {Crash} Fixed an issue with the Dragon Stars Team goal that crashes the title on events where the goal isn't achievable. - {Crash} Fixed an issue where users couldn't access time trial in certain languages. - {Crash} Fixed an issue where attempting to access Elite speed in certain modes in some languages would cause a crash. - {Crash} Fixed an issue where video information wasn't purged from the buffer on the track select screen causing a crash. - {Crash} Fixed an issue with the avatar system that could cause a crash when entering/returning to a lobby at the end of a race (or on the Map Vote Screen). - {Crash} Fixed an issue where the lobby could a crash due to removing of Avatar data. - {Crash} Fixed an issue where the title could crash when selecting matchmaking multiple times in succession. - {Crash} Fixed an issue where the title could crash when a user was dead when the race ended. - Fixed an issue where the incorrect shaders were cached in the build pipeline, so built incorrectly on some tracks.
Plus additional minor tweaks and improvements.

With PACER going live we need to advise anyone thinking of streaming, posting reviews or playthroughs that although all of the music in PACER is licensed there are some artists, labels and tracks that will produce an instant Copyright Claim on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter etc etc
This will result in you either losing revenue from your clip or having the video deleted or worse depending on what streaming / hosting service you're using.
Please enjoy the music in the game but know what the risks are if you stream or post yourself playing.

It's been a very long hard road but we've finally launched PACER.
One quick release note. You'll see in the online multiplayer Lobbies that Voice Chat is present but not functional. We had to remove it recently but the UI was left in for expediency.

There was a BIG spoiler in the title of the article (being the actual date), but if you missed it, the PACER team are incredibly excited and happy to announce that PACER will be launching October 29th 2020.

Release date "Development on PACER for PC, PS4 and Xbox One (with PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhancements) is complete! However, whilst the Steam version of PACER is ready and revving to go, both the Xbox One and PS4 versions are currently heading into final submission with our final Gold candidates and therefore will regrettably miss the originally planned September 17th release date. It is important to us that everyone gets to play PACER at the same time on PC and consoles therefore, please look forward to the simultaneous platform release before the end of September."
Playstation Access "We're very proud of the work our incredibly small team has been able to produce with PACER and later today, Playstation Access will be streaming PACER on PS4 for the first time to show you the final game in action!

New Track Reveal - UMA V
Located on the coast of Cape Town, Uma V was designed with a single goal in mind: pushing Pacer engines to their absolute limit.
The track is home to the Izulu Dynamics racing team and was built to test the skill of all who race upon it. The track produces a challenging balance of technicality and speed - Featuring long, wide straights, an extensive maglock section and several split lanes which lend the track its unusual name - a play upon “Umav”, derived from the Swahili for ‘split’.

January update
Hi Pilots
Since we last posted we’ve been working like crazy, refining and balancing game-play, getting the hosted services working for muti-player, squishing bugs and stamping on TRC/TC issues in preparation for our first console submission. Once through the initial pass, this will give us some visibility for an actual release date. No submission, no Gold Master, no release date.
We are still a very small team working our nuts off on a game punching way above its weight.
As we’ve pushed our launch date we had to upgrade from Unreal UE 4.22 to 4.24. Since we were “only” moving 2 points, this has taken far less time than in the past. The team is hugely relieved that we’ve made the jump.
