💌It's the Month of Love
Bonjour my fellow artists 🍷🥖
It has been a while! I hope everyone is doing well in the freezing winter. Or, if it’s warm wherever you are, we are super jelly please send heat.
Oh! Today is Valentine's Day. So we have a sweet announcement to make.
We’re changing our relationship status from “it’s complicated” to “partner” as we can ecstatically announce we’re officially in a relationship with Wacom💛
Passpartout 2 is now chilling inside the circuits of the Wacom One as a free demo to try! In addition, US, EU, and UK customers can also purchase the Passpartout 2 at Wacom Estore!
Supporting tablets hasn’t been easy and we’re grateful for the help we’ve received from Wacom to make their devices work well with Passpartout 2. Of course, the game supports other tablets as well and we made a Handy Guide if you need help with your setup.🎨
Also, I must tease that we got some more exciting Passpartout related news coming. Teasing just to build suspense, you know, because I’m cheeky like that. Per usual we’ll announce that when ready. ❤️🔥
Happy Painting!

Minor Patch for save files
Hello!
We were made aware of an issue with the game when loading certain older save files. This patch fixes so they load properly.
A special thanks to all in the discussions forum who helped us pinpoint the issue!
Patch 1.1.1
Hey! We wanted to publish a patch to follow up on our latest content update. This patch addresses:
- The studio looked a bit too well baked on the outside, so we turned down the heat somewhat. - Adrienne should no longer improvise with lettering when making posters in polish - Fixed an issue where a saboteur drew some extra lines on your fine art if you played on a low frame rate. This will retroactively fix paintings made since patch 1.0.2 and on (since october-ish). - Someone (me) forgot to add the localization for the new things in Japanese. This has now been un-forgotten.
This is the final update for the year as we in the studio head into our blankets for the holidays. With that, thank you all for playing!
See you all next year!
Hotfix patch - Studio Update
Hey! We were made aware that an issue slipped past us that prevented players from using the Popup Table once bought. This hotfix addresses that.
Apologies for the inconvenience this caused! We'll continue listening and improving upon this content update. Hopefully it's smoother painting for you all from this point on!
The Studio Update Now Live!
Bonjour my fellow artists!
From the snowy landscapes I’m super stoked to announce our biggest update since the launch of the game. Say bonjour to:
Sit down, grab a hot cup of tea as we explore what the update has to offer.
The studio is entirely remade. We wanted the studio to feel more special and like a historical part of Phénix. It also always felt a bit cramped to us (or what cheeky real estate agents would call “cozy”) so we made it larger to give you some breathing space.
We want the studio to feel like a home, like it belongs to you. So from this patch you can customize your studio by choosing your interior decoration style as well as flooring and wallpaper.
Now to the cool part. This is an art game after all. In the studio you’ll be able to draw your own wallpaper pattern - making the studio completely unique to you! Honestly can’t wait to see what wallpaper designs you’ll cook up!
A studio of this size surely needs a little companion, don’t you think? Well there seems to be a feline fellow roaming around town. That bed of yours does seem like a perfect cozy spot for a cat, doesn’t it?
Finally, we’ve partnered with POSCA to bring their pens into the world of Passpartout! The POSCA pen has always been the main inspiration for the Round Brush so now we’re finally able to call the round brush by its true name: The POSCA Round Tip. You’ll also find the POSCA Chisel Tip in Benjamin’s store as a new tool as well as a few new canvases. Hope you’ll like it! ❤️
Let me know what you think of the update. Are there any decoration options you’d like to see in the future?
In the meantime I wish you all a very warm happy holidays. We’ll be back after the new year.
Cozy painting! //Papa Mattias
Nominations for Passpartout 2 in the Steam Awards!
Bonjour our fellow artists 🍷🥖
It's been a pretty exciting year! We released Passpartout 2 on Steam in April and on Nintendo Switch in November🎂
It was almost three years ago that we started developing the prototype of Passpartout 2, and it is with great thanks to the community that we have made it to this day. Thank you very much!
Nominations for the Steam Awards are open today! If you could, please nominate us as your cool ”SIT BACK AND RELAX” game!☕
Oh, and don't miss the Autumn sale going on at the same time as the Steam Awards event!
It's getting colder, so please stay warm. Happy painting🎨🌟

Language & Settings hotfix
We found the languages that got lost after the previous update. They have now been returned to their home in the settings menu.
This patch also contains some improvements to how settings are loaded and applied, which should help users who experienced issues entering that menu.
Now Steam Deck Verified, Tablet Support, and more!
Hello all! This is the resident code-wrangler speaking. With Passpartout 2 coming to switch soon (yay!), we've been working hard these past months to bring all improvements made to make it run well on the Switch console back to PC! This includes:
Significantly improved loading times for new games
Performance improvements, especially when running the game on Low/Medium settings
Some 120 fixes, big and small!
I noticed a mistake I made that affects the size of the application & patches that I needed to correct. This means this patch will be larger than you'd expect from a update without new content. Future patches (I hope) will only be large if they contain new content for y'all. ^^
We've also taken a deeper dive into tablet support. It's a bit tricky with all different brands and models around, and we've found there's almost always some steps required of the user to ensure it works correctly. To better the experience, we've changed the default settings of the game to be more brand agnostic, and added a new website accessible via the Settings menu that can act as a guide to setting up your particular model. We hope to update this site as we get more details from you users if there are any other steps needed for models out there.
Here's a highlight of fixes for this patch:
You can no longer accidentally break quests that require characters to walk to specific locations by simultaneously doing another quests that asks the characters to be elsewhere.
You can no longer interact with the invisible easel at the docks.
When designing the flag for the community, now the correct characters are referenced in dialogue.
Characters should no longer forget where their home is, even if it changes.
Passpartout has now abandoned their ghostly self, and can no longer walk through certain objects & walls.
If you hustle a painting to a customer and steal the painting as they pay, the customer will now forcibly take a refund.
That's all from us this time!
🎁A post-summer Passpartout gift🎨
Bonjour my fellow artists 🍷🥖
The Flamebait team is back to work, fully recharged from a lovely summer vacation. This summer has been very hot in many countries, so please remember to stay well hydrated! 🌊
Today I wanted to share two very cool things with you, my brush-wielding troupe d'artistes!
Namely… Passpartout 2 Nintendo Switch is coming soon!!!🎉
We will be able to announce a more detailed date shortly but rest assured it’ll reach your fingertips this year!
For the Nintendo Switch version you’ll be able to draw in many different ways. Either using the touch screen - just like a tablet, or using a Joy-Con like a magic brush, or just by using the joystick if you prefer that. We’re anxious to get it out there and into your hands!
Why don’t you check out our announcement trailer?
While you wait we have a special surprise for you art-thirsty color-conquerors! Thanks to our lovely artist friend @kannasora we have a few coloring book pages ready to get smothered in paint. Paint digitally or print it out and just chill for a while when bringing Phénix to life. If you don’t mind sharing, we’d love to see some results!
You can download the coloring book pages right here🎨
P.S. We are exhibiting Passpartout 2 at Gamescom starting the day after tomorrow, in the Indie Arena Booth, number 72. Please come visit us and check out the Nintendo Switch version of Passpartout 2!
