Update 0.3 Release Date

Greetings, Heroes!

Wishing you a howling good time this Halloween!

Unfortunately, we will not be able to complete the Update 0.3 in October, as sad as it is. There was too much work and we need extra time to finish testing, polish the balance and implement all the features of the Hero Encounters. That's why we have to postpone the release date of "The Hero" update to November.

And thank you for your kind words and support, you are the best!

More news about Update 0.3

Hello everyone!

It's been a long time since we've written any news about the progress of the Update 0.3, so we decided to let you know what we've been up to lately. By the way, information about development progress in our Roadmap is updated more frequently, though without details.
We'd like to tell you about development progress much more often, but our plans have changed too many times to be able to state anything with certainty. This update was not our intention from the beginning, so we had to come up with all the mechanics, features and functions from scratch. We hope that further development will go easier and its goals will be clearer :)

We are happy to announce that we are already at the finish line. The development was complicated, we had to make a lot of changes to the source code and write a huge number of new features. In fact, we created two games and merged them into one. In addition, some of the implemented features will allow us to start creating two new villages faster.

There will be a lot of changes in the Update 0.3. Here's a quick overview of what we've been up to lately:

One of the most notable new features (besides the Hero himself) will be the new Quest Log. Throughout the game, you will be able to receive various quests that will teach you game mechanics or give you specific objectives. You will receive certain rewards for completing these quests.

Update 0.3 will introduce a Notification System. Any event that requires your attention will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. You can open the Notification Log to see a list of all recent events. By clicking on a notification, you will be able to see the location where the event occurred (e.g., the location where your settler died or a newly constructed building).

Demons have also been updated. Now your village will be attacked not only by the standard demons, but also by their unusual versions. For example, the Destroyer Mage who attacks the area with magic.

There will be 16 new achievements in the game (one hidden).

We've also repainted all the backgrounds with new and better quality backgrounds.

There are many more changes and new features awaiting for you in the Update 0.3, such as improved support for resolutions above and below 1920x1080; display of zones not available for building; new Hero-related cutscenes; balance changes; UI improvements and bugfixes. You can see the full list in our Roadmap, or wait for the Patchnote.

All of the new features planned for this update have been fully implemented and tested, and all that remains is to fill the game with content - creating new events, hero encounters, and equipment sets.
However, we have set the release date for Update 0.3 - it will be released in October 2023.

In addition, please note that on September 5, the cost of the game will be increased from $10 to $12, and regional prices will be updated. As a result, the cost of the game may become even higher in some regions.

Finally, we've prepared some gameplay footage from the Hero Encounter (fighting bandits) for you. Please keep in mind that this shows mechanics that are still in development.

Thank you for your time and see you soon!

News about Update 0.3

Hello, Survivors!

Today we want to wish you a Happy New Year. We hope that next year will bring us all a lot of joy and good mood. Unfortunately, the past year was very difficult for many of us. It affected us personally too, greatly reducing the development speed of Phoenix Hope, but in the new year we will try to do our best to have interesting updates with lots of content coming out more often!

We also wanted to tell you a little bit more about the future update 0.3.

In "Update 0.3 - The Hero", random events will occasionally happen in your village, where your choices will determine the fate of the villagers or even your entire settlement. Some decisions will cause you to receive quests that take one to several days to complete.

In addition, we have also brought new information about the Hero. In this update you will be able to cut gems, which give powerful bonuses to your Hero - for example, enhancing their health or magic. There is a separate skill for cutting, the power of which increases when you use this ability. In this way you can create new gems that allow you to cope with the dangers of this world.

Your Hero will be able to learn powerful abilities that change the course of battle. By the way, there will be a total of 18 unique hero abilities in the game!

Update 0.3 is still in development, so stay tuned for more details!

Thank you for being with us this year!

Update 0.3 Announcement

Greetings, Survivors!

Today is finally the day when we can tell you about the new update we've been working on all this time.

Meet Update 0.3: The Hero!

In this new update you will be able to take direct control of the hero. You will be able to run, jump, dodge attacks and slash enemies with your sword, stab them with your spear or shoot them with your bow.

We understand that not all players will want to control this warrior by themselves, so you will be able to give him orders just like the other defenders of the village. The hero will defend himself against demons, but his efficiency will be much lower than with direct control.

To allow the demons to effectively resist such a fast and agile opponent, we increased their attack speed, but reduced their damage.

Your hero will receive experience for killing enemies, after which he will reach new levels and improve his characteristics.
The hero has a total of five characteristics: Strength, Agility, Vitality, Endurance, and Wisdom. Each characteristic increases certain parameters of your hero, allowing him to fight and move more effectively.

You can also equip him with new armor or weapons, such as a bow, so he can shoot demons from afar.

Each armor has a number of slots for Gems - these stones enhance the character and their size affects the strength of enhancement. Smaller gems can be stacked together to make larger ones.

Your hero is no ordinary person, so he will be able to use special abilities, which will allow him to change the course of the battle, damage many opponents at once, or temporarily incapacitate them.

You may be wondering, how do you get all these new items? In this update we are introducing new Encounters - additional locations where your character will fulfill certain goals, defeat new enemies, and be rewarded with resources and items.
These locations will contain brand new enemies, such as bandits, marauders, wild beasts and special demons. In addition, you will be able to find treasures and various quests in these areas.

We hope that you will enjoy this update. Navigating the village by yourself, dealing with demons or fighting back a mighty boss is an incredible and very enjoyable experience.
We really wish you could try out this update as soon as possible.

Update 0.2.1 Hotfix 4

-Fixed a rare bug in which the boss did not die when taking the final blow.

Update 0.2.1 Hotfix 3

Today we have prepared a small hotfix for you, and would also like to tell you about an announcement of the future update.

We are currently working on this change, so we will tell you more about it later, when we can show you what we've been working on for the last week.
