UPDATE 0.55 - STEADY FPS!

Well guys, today we are releasing the 0.55 Update. Polished up the chunk generation of the map. Now its posible, tested by your humble servant, to run a full map with 90 FPS - 7400 sqm)
If you don't own a gaming pc, it is posible that you might experience some lag, at the start and end of every night. (Specially if you have hundreds of undeads.)

  • Great improvements to the chunk generation system.
  • Small details in pixelart errors.
  • Fixed graphical glitches in the death animations.
  • Will consider to limit the terrain generation to population. So you don't end up with 100 acres of resources without enough workforce to clear it. THIS TOPIC DEPENDS ON YOUR FEEDBACK.

UPDATE 0.54 - GUI REVAMP!

Well guys, today we are releasing the 0.54 Update. THE GUI REVAMP!




  • Added several buttons inside the GUI.
  • Changed the resources's font.
  • Animated Tom. The tutorial Guide.
  • Changed all the GUI textures and pixel art.
  • Polished the tutorial.


Now I'll get back to grinding that AI scripts!
And hopefully start working on the languages translations. (Spanish and Russian, to start)

UPDATE 0.53 - FISHING IMPROVEMENTS!

Well guys, here it is, the 0.53 Update. It has been a crazy working couple of weeks in Real life for me, so the current update is minor, but a lot of bugs have been solved.


  • Bug fixed: Boats moving in the left direction will no longer look like they are upside down.
  • Improved the code for the fishing boats. They should be a good way of getting food now.
  • Added death animation to both villagers and undeads.
  • Fixed some buildings collitions that were not centered.
  • Bug fixed: Villagers will no longer get trapped in herb fields.
  • Removed the flag system.
  • Polished and compressed the code, the game should be half the 0.52 size.

UPDATE 0.52 - HARD WORKING VILLAGERS!

Well, guys today I finished the second stage of the AI, villagers will be able to grab those materials they collect, and bring them to central points: Barns and Wagons.



- Bug fixed: Saved games will save trees in growing stages.
- Introduced initial deposit: Wagon: (100 capacity)
- Villagers will interact with the enviroment and structures, and carry the resources back to the closest wagon or barn:

Minerals
Herbs
Logs
Food
Bait
Seeds
Fabric

This will allow a more fluent and overall funny game experience. Now the placement of barns will play a BIG role in the development of the town.
- Balanced a the production tempos and amounts.

UPDATE 0.51 - ZOOM & TUTORIAL

Well guys, it has been a very busy week working on the game, so without further comments here it is:


Tom the Tanner.

- Fixed graphical glitches in trees.
- Balanced the cloth production.
- Added zoom in game, just scroll the mid button. (Remember that you can move around the map using the arrow keys)
- Introduced a new tutorial, with some role-playing features.
- Animated the Blacksmith building.
- Added new water texture and animation.

UPDATE 0.50 - GRAVES & WINDMILLS

Well guys, today we present to you the 0.50 build:



- Fixed a few typos on the help interface.
- Patched the speed growth of the trees (Was too slow.)
- Small technical bug fixing
- NEW STRUCTURE: The gravestone: With these structure
(un-revemovable), you'll be able to let the undead rest in peace
- NEW STRUCTURE: The windmill: These buildings will improve the efficiency of your crops by two, as long as the fields are within range of the windmill.

We are still working on the tutorial, hopefully it will be done by next week.

UPDATE 0.49 - GRAPHICAL REVAMP

Well guys, we've tried to get this update done with the 0.48 build, but the game designer couln't do it on the weekend, so we pushed through almost 2 nights in a row without sleep to get this done. Now we can move on, to create a tutorial, and finish up the AI of interaction with the structures:



- Re-designed all the main structures. And tweaked a few of the old ones.
- Now a cartoonish outline will be created on top of every object that has a purpose in game. (This will be used in the future to give the player help with line colors to determine what the villagers are doing.)
- Re-designed the interface.
- Removed the wall structure, since it has no real use atm.
- Fixed major bugs that occurs in late games. (Villagers getting stuck in fields)

UPDATE 0.48 - RESOURCES BALANCES

Well guys, it's been a very busy week deving the game. So, here it is:

UPDATE: 0.48



- Villagers will go to the tailor shop, if the tailor has cloth produced, otherwise they won't even bother going while out of stock.
- Changed the icon that represents villagers are out of cloth for a jacket.
- Mines are now interactive with the player, hover the mouse over it to see what is producing at the moment, and left click to change the resource to mine.
- Added growth period to trees: From the moment a tree is planted, it will take some time to grow, before being harvest.


I'll start to work this week with a new way for the villagers to construct the buildings and the tutorial.

UPDATE 0.47.5 - VILLAGER AI (Patched)

Well guys, it's been a while, and I'm finally back home, and ready to get the game improved. During this absense I've took the time to look at your guys request, and noticed it usually was related to get the villagers a bit smarter.
So here it is:

- Villagers will now propperly pathfind toward fields (Barley, Wheat, Herbs and Worm fields), when they are ready for planting and harvesting.
- They will also take they'r own personal health into consideration, so if they are hungry or cold, they will try to find the closest source of food or clothing.
- Also fixed some minor graphical glitches.

Patch 0.47.5:

- Villagers will now be able to walk through buildings. (Later on will add enterting from one side, and coming out of the other one.)
- Main buildings will produce resources at different rates (The more population you have the faster resources will gather.)
- Values and ratios will change depending on your reactions, so help us get a balance in the game.
- Fixed wheat fields not being aligned to the grid.

I will keep on working on the interaction of the villagers with the player and the town itself.

UPDATE 0.46 - AI IMPROVEMENTS!

Well, guys I've started to improve the AI of the villagers to have a better gameplay interaction. This is just the first step of the process, more AI will be added slowly but surely.

  • Bug Fixed: Resolution re-scaling not properly.
  • Bug Fixed: Now muting the sounds will mute all the sounds, not just the music.
  • NEW FUNCTION: The blue flag: As a part of the AI improvements, workers will go to the destination you assign, with proper pathfinding, by using the "Blue Flag" function.
  • NEW FUNCTION: The red flag: As a part of the AI improvements, soldiers will go to the destination you assign, with proper pathfinding, by using the "Red Flag" function.


REAL LIFE NEWS:


We've just acquired two new developing pcs, both for me and the graphical designer of the game. Pretty beasty I7 4790, with 16 GB of ram, 2GBddr5 graphic card. So hopefully we'll be able to get things done faster.



On my side, I'll have to go visit family for the next month, but once I get back, (Around the 15 of July), I'll get back to coding like a beast! I'll try my best to stay around in the forums at least once a day during my time out of town.
