A lot to announce today!
Today is the day our first VR effort sees the light of day.
We always thought the ducks would feel at home in a virtual reality pool, and we finally managed to pull that off!
Yes, Early Access means you might still find it a bit rough around the edges, but we believe your relaxation shouldn't really be affected all that much. So go ahead, put your headset on, and find out what’s changed from the original game.
And now, a piece of news that should interest a broader duck crowd, since VR headset owners are still a minority among gamers (or an elite, if you prefer :coolduck:). So here’s the second big news:
As of today, Placid Plastic Duck Simulator officially has a mobile store page on iOS!
You can grab your smartphone and pre-order the game now, then see it appear among your apps the day it comes out next month. If you download it on day one, you’ll get a free DLC as a thank-you for your continued support!
If you're on Android, don't worry, PPDS will be available there very soon too.
And lastly, we’re pleased to announce that today, PPDS is on Steam’s front page!
To celebrate, a 50% discount is live — there’s no better time to grab the game if you haven’t yet (or gift it to that unaware friend and hear them say “what the duck” when they open it).

New DLC
Two DLCs in such a short time? Yes! We’re thrilled we pulled this off, especially since we're busier than ever working on two more duck games. (If you’re reading this, you already know about them and have added them to your wishlist, right? :menacingduck:)
Now, let’s talk about something exciting in the physical realm of analog ducks...
The amazing folks at Mojito Studios—a board game producer—approached us with a wild idea: a DUCK DIORAMA called Placid Plastic Duck Studio. Could we say no? Of course not!
While nothing’s set in stone yet, they’ve already made a prototype (with water!), and they’re working on a Kickstarter campaign. If you’d like to help make this incredibly cool thing happen, head over to their presentation page to sign up as an interested backer: https://presale.mojitostudios.com/

Game Update
Finally, we made the PC and console versions more consistent. This is a major update, so expect some differences from the usual build and possibly some minor bugs. If you find something is not working as intended, please use the bug reports section in Steam Discussions.
Known bug: Currently, the multiplayer saves are not working.
Good news is for the occasion, we managed to work on some quality-of-life improvements, such as:

It's been a few months since we last published news here. This was not a forgetful silence—rest assured, you've been in our minds ever since we posted the first announcement in 2022. Rather, it was a "calm before the storm" kind of silence. We've been busy, very busy, and to be honest, we'll be busy for a little longer.
And yet, we've never been so happy to be this busy because we are working on a new, unexpected ducky-deck game!
If you consider that good news, hold on to your chair because today is the day you can watch the announcement trailer of Placid Plastic Deck - A Quiet Quest!

we are working on porting the game to mobile, which will happen before the year ends (with a little surprise)
we are working on porting the remaining DLCs on all consoles, this should happen around November
we want to produce a new DLC, we are aiming at December
SSD is in progress and pretty much in line with our timeline

That said, we thought a small number of PPDS aficionados, as bonkers as we are, might enjoy being able to close the game and still have the ducks floating on their screen.
Or perhaps you just want yet another excuse to show love to the ducks and support them in their future endeavors (yes yes, we'll talk about the big things that are coming up next time, promise).
Either way, some things we just can't help but do.
