Hey everyone!

This patch brings a few changes and a some bug fixes. We are currently working hard on the upcoming DLC, but we thought it's time for a small update. So here we go!

Features:


+ Introduced debt limit of -10.000 credits
+ Rocket silos now only consume upkeep when not idle
+ Added additional fireball particles to nuke explosion

Modding API:


+ Configure start spaceships and start items via world type

Quality of Life:


+ Delimiters (spaces) in various labels for better readability of high numbers

Bug fixes:


* Fixed mod priority not being accounted for in all scenarios
* Pausing rocket silos allowed for rocket construction without power draw
* Fixed item stack tooltip not working showing the production / consumption stats for clay
* Fixed a lighting issue at planet poles
* Fixed a reflection issue on water
* Fixed visual overlapping bug next to the minimap

The Next Major Update

Hey everyone,

for the last few months we have been hard at work on the next big update for Planet S and we are happy to finally talk about it! As you might have already guessed from our teaser article two weeks ago, it will be a bit different from previous updates. We won't go into every detail yet but the next big update will mainly focus on new end game content (both multiplayer and singleplayer) as well as scenario modding for singleplayer. Building on that we are also going to release a DLC for Planet S. Over the last two years there were many of you who asked for ways to support and this will be a way to do that while getting something back in return. The DLC will add a campaign with a story and different missions to play. We are aiming for a release within the next two months so expect more infos soon!


In other news as you might have already noticed we changed our name from TeamJA to Glimmerlight Games! We feel better about that name moving forward and it should also be easier to pronounce internationally.

Rumors about "Planet S"

Hey everyone!

This patch fixes a couple of issues and adds some QoL improvements.

Quality of Life:


+ Added a button to delete flag presets
+ Improved usability of the trade route UI
+ Added the ability to zoom in and out using the keyboard (Arrow up + Arrow down to zoom in / out)

Balancing:


~ The interplanetary laser will now start with a cooldown when placed down

Bug fixes:


* Fixed a crash that could occure when selecting a bot owned spaceship
* Fixed a visual glitch related to modded atmospheres
* Fixed being able to control or group spaceships from other players
* Fixed some localization errors

* FIxed savegames loading with an incorrect game speed applied
* Fixed a bug causing bots to get confused when to expand their cities

Hey everyone!

This is smaller patch which adds a new world / game options aswell as a couple of fixes.

NEW Game speed:


+ You can now change the speed of the game during world creation. This will allow you to player faster paced rounds for example. The speed influences how quickly buildings operate / produce goods among other things.

Modding:


+ You can now remove existing objects from the game via mod scripts (this is currently limited to spaceships, rockets, buildings and items). To remove an object you now call clearItem / clearRocket / clearBuilding or clearSpaceship with the ID of the object to remove.

Bug fixes:


* Fixed a potential desync related to power
* Fixed an editor issue that caused it to not create certain folder structures
* Fixed a desync related to research

Hey everyone!

This patch brings the functionality to override & extend content objects via the modding API and a bunch of bug fixes and other changes.

Modding API:


* Overriding existing content objects (see our modding guide to learn how: link)
* Disable achievements when mods are active
* Warning in Planet S Tools (the editor) when selecting models, sounds or texture files with an unsupported file extension
* Fixed bot getting stuck when using the "forbidUsageForBots" flag

General features:


* "Completed production cycles" in buildings, keeping track of how often it produced items, spaceships or power (starts with 0 in savegames prior to this version)

QoL:


* Each colony has a fixed, predefined name to avoid duplicate names when colonizing new planets (colonies can still be renamed and keep their names when being re-colonized)
* Ctrl + Left click to add or remove single spaceships to or from the current selection

Bug fixes:


* Fixed a pirate related spaceship desync
* Fixed a spaceship desync causing incorrect spaceship targeting
* Fixed a general desync caused by game ticks being skipped by clients if just the right amount of actions were done in one game tick (mostly commanding a lot of spaceships at once)
* Fixed "Empty" world type in new lobbies as client
* Fixed a UI related deadlock, causing a game crash
* Fixed savegames sorting being broken in the Load menu
* Fixed a bug causing research effects to stack, resulting in insanely high numbers (e.g. speed or shield range)

Performance:


~ Improved performance in several areas especially on lower end GPUs

Hey everyone!

This patch brings improvements to the modding API and a few small fixes.

Modding API:


* Bots can now be prevented from using buildings, spaceships and technologies by setting the "forbidUsageForBots" property
* Items used as construction materials are now correctly being shown in popups

Bug fixes:


* Fixed a bug causing the neutral trader to spawn way too early and too often
* Fixed bots (especially hard ones) getting stuck on the first technology which requires third tier residents
* Fixed a bug in the german translation, preventing the construction costs of rockets to be displayed

* Fixed a crash / application hang when switching vSync on or off (DirectX 12)
* Fixed an issue that caused bots to stop progressing when playing with mods that add new production buildings for existing items
* Fixed a power related desync issue
