PlataGO! Super Platform Game Maker

Updates since leaving Early Access

Hi everyone,

We'd just like to take a moment to compile a list of the updates and bug fixes that PlataGO! has received since leaving Early Access:

Build 1.010
-Fixed issue where both game and system cursor were being shown.
Build 1.009
- Expanded what can be joined and dragged in editor. Now it's possible to easily move or extend newly drawn ladders, spikes, etc.
Build 1.008
- Fixed bottom alignment when in game mode.
Build 1.007
- Fixed countdown timer not pausing when game is paused.
- Fixed issue where some things are not deleted on level restart/death.
- Fix for gem counting issues caused by above issue.
Build 1.005
- Tweak to controller cursor move speed.
Build 1.0044
- Editor Drag added to right mouse and controller B button.
- Fixed some issues to do with dragging/resizing of tile regions (Note: At present this doesn't work with objects such as spikes and ladders but is being looked into!).
- Improved/fixed button navigation during pop-ups (to allow easier fine control of settings when using controller).
- Modified controller cursor response curve to allow for better control.
Build 1.003
- Fix for Steam library compatibility issue in previous build.
Build 1.002
- Fixed issue where the level link screen sometimes showed no levels.
Build 1.001
- Fixed it so that falling boxes kill enemies.
- Added a HUD door key indicator.
- Added a health bar indicator for enemies with more than 5 health.

And coming soon:
- Ability for NPCs to switchable objects after they talk.
- Ability for enemies to trigger switchable objects after being killed.
- Fixed recoil on charged weapon.
- Fixed issue when placing teleport directly at the top of a ladder.
- Fixed issue where jumping in a portal near the bottom of a level could cause the player to die.
- Fixed camera pan for switch with timer.

Thanks for playing and building!
PQube and Super Icon

Build 1.009

-Expanded what can be joined and dragged
I have now modified the way a number of things can be drawn so that they work the same way as columns, ground and water etc.
This includes ladders, platforms and spikes. You can therefore draw a ladder, then move it by right clicking and dragging the centre.. or resize it if you grab the ends.
I'm not sure if this has broken anything so let me know if it has, but I have tested it and it seems ok.

Build 1.008

-Fixed bottom alignment when you play game.

Build 1.007

-Fix for countdown timer not pausing when game is paused.
-Possible fix for some things not being deleted on level restart/death.
-Possible fix for gem counting on account of the above.

As far as I can tell the above 2 are fixed, but recreating them isn't easy.
There is also a very small chance that the fix may cause a lockup, although carefully working through the logic this won't happen and it hasn't happened in testing, but I will keep an eye on it.

Build 1.005

-Tweek to controller virtual mouse speed. I admit it would be nice if this was user configurable but at present I am limited to using existing game text as new text would need translating etc.

Build 1.0044

-Drag added to right mouse and controller B button.
-Fixed some issues do do with dragging/resizing tile regions. (note at present this doesn't work with things such as spikes and ladders.. but this will be looked into).
-improved/fixed button navigation in pop-ups (mostly to allow easier fine control of settings when using controller).
-Modified controller virtual mouse response curve (actually this was more of a fix for the switch version,, but may have actually made the xbox controller worse).. let me know and I'll undo it for the pc version.
-Fixed some issues with wide blocks and the brick toggle and dragging.
-Modified aim lock so that it works properly on moving platforms.

Build 1.003

The last version was build using a newer compiler, but it looks like the steam libraries we are using are not compatible with that so have gone back to old compiler as upgrading things might kill windows 32bit support.

Build 1.002

-Fixed issue where level link screen would show no levels.

Please let me know if there are any other problems with this fix or any other problems with this build.. The bug was caused by a fix with Nintendo Switch file handling that hadn't been patched in the steam version.
I am currently having to work on other things so there can be a delay in me checking here.
Also steam have updated how notifications are posted so no idea what this will look like and I have just spent ages trying to work out how to publish it.
Steve

Build 1.001

-Fix (again) for falling boxes killing enemies.
-Added door key indicator
-Added Health indicator for enemies. Added automatically for all enemies with > 5 health. (probably should be an option, but at present adding any new text, or gfx is tricky. I did have a look at the existing text but nothing seemed appropriate, also my time at present is limited).
-some other minor bug fixes.
