Snowy Devlog #4 - Crafting cool 3D props for the cozy Garage Level!

As the snowflakes fall and winter's icy grip tightens... just kiddinng! There is HELL out there! at least 30° C! I hope this devlog will chill you a bit ;)
Designing props for a the cozy command center - AKA The Garage
It's not blizzard in a garage, it just a low-res GIF because Steam won't allow better resolutions :(
Remember the garage? This will be a level you will return to very often! And why? Because it's a HUB level. You know, a base of operations. Btw, what's your favorite hub level in the game? Maybe a Peach's Castle? Or Firelink Shrine? Tell us in the comments ;)
Putting the PC in snowplowing command center!
You wonder why this old PC? Well, it looks old, but it's an important tool! You can use it to navigate through your current tasks and messages! You can also use it to buy new equipment, etc We wanted to make it garage hub level because simple menus are often not very immersive.
First sculpting and then colors etc. btw my PC is just plain black :(
We've created this virtual wizard to guide you through the icy streets with a mix of advice and maybe a few hidden extras. I call it a "dad joke generator", you'll see it one day :D (just to keep things cool!)
The desk-like cabinet - storing tools and dreams!
My grandfather had these in his garage, I swear (wait, I said "had"? It should be HE HAVE!!! Apparently his garage cabinet is older than he is and it's still being used! )
Enough of the side stories: check out this picture with these NODES. It's a tool that allows you to set HOOK a specific configuration for a selected prop. It is useful and you can see this kind of solutions in other programs besides Blender3d (Unreal, Unity, 3dsMax and many more)
Various tools - Snow's worst nightmare?
Oh man, the tools! We have rolled up our sleeves and assembled a selection of tools that would make any snowflake tremble with fear. From wrenches to ropes to hammers (of pain ;) ), these tools are your secret weapons against the snowflake menace.
Or...
Or not. They are usually just for show! :D If there's a garage, there always has to be a package of tools "for different situations" And also a few "do not touch that" tools (as with my grandpa's garage)

Plow the Snow! is cherry, colorfull, relaxing game but we previously made something entairly different. We made an game about prison and ist's called a Prison Simulator. You play as a guard and its up to you to decide how things should run in this penitentiary complex. We also announced a Ready for Riot - a game where you will encounter nothing but a riots in prison (talk about bad day at the offcie, eh?)
But we recently announced a third game in our "prison-like" genre!

Hey there, snowplow heroes and heroines! In Plow the Snow!, players take on the role of a snowplow operator tasked with clearing snow from various locations. Today, we'll dive into the development process of creating a snowy level set in a park.
Welcome to the park!
Remember this level? You can visit it in our free demo ! Get ready to embark on an icy adventure as we spill the snowflakes on designing a frosty park level that will make you want to do snow angels and sip hot cocoa!
How to find snow-related research materials? Answer: go to the park in winter :D
Witnessing snowy challenges unfold
Our park level is more than just a winter wonderland! We sprinkled the landscape with all sorts of obstacles to keep you on your plow-driving toes! Watch out for benches, fountains, trees etc!
Our talented team of artists donned their imaginary snow boots and got to work designing enchanting winter-themed assets. We sculpted magnificent snow-laden trees that that you can see here.
Setting the winter scene
Coping the same assets is fast and easy but the level must looks interesting and just looks good. You can copy almost anything but the outcome is not always good :D Just look at those lanterns:

Speaking of assets: You can always add as much as you want as long is not dropping a game performance. But you need a lot of various assets. Not only benches and trees are in parks, fountains too! The graphic guy have a lot of work for every level a designer comes up :D

Level design and challenges - snowy surprises await!
When it came to creating a winter wonderland, we couldn't forget about the trees! Planting trees isn't just about sticking them in the ground and hoping for the best. We carefully selected specific locations within the park level to ensure the trees would not only enhance the visual appeal but also provide "strategic" benefits (will colide with player's vehicle :D)

Let's see how it looks like from the bird perspective! From above, you'll witness the challenges scattered throughout the park, carefully designed to test your snowplowing skills and puzzle-solving prowess. Players must maneuver their plows around frozen obstacles and skillfully clear paths.

That's all for today, now i will sit on the bench and chill out a while. Or maybe i'm looking at the my level FROM THE PERSPECTIVE of the bench? We will never know :D
