After extensive testing, the 1.04c patch for Polaris Sector is released!
The game is constantly being upgraded, and the developers have recently asked the community what they would like to see in the next major update. So stay tuned for more news!

• Vast modding API improvement
• Heroes backend is now fully functional
• New types of space object types in additional to planets (asteroid belts, for example) that can be colonized and developed
• Destruction of planets
• Weapon type that can fire capital ships only (ex. SW Death Star weapon)

• Satellites and stations can now have fuel cells and refuelling stations to act as a refuel and repair bases far from colonized planets
• Separated fuel reserve from travel range, meaning that a ship or station without engines (and thus no travel range) can still has a fuel reserve

Polaris Sector 1.04a open beta
We’re releasing today a new update for Polaris Sector. It’s on Open Beta and to activate it, simply go to your Library, right click on Polaris Sector -> Properties -> Betas and then select “Open Beta”.

As announced a few days ago, we have prepared a brand new section for the Polaris Sector site completely focused on technology, and it’s now live!
Given how complex and deep the research system in Polaris Sector is, we’ve thought it’d be handy for the players to have an online guide, and this site contains everything you need to know. All technologies are there, you can sort them by category and subcategory and easily browse through them. It’s the perfect tool to find out what technologies you need to discover in order to reach the goals you’ve set and to plan your research efficiently!

Polaris Sector 1.03c patch and technology site!
Polaris Sector’s 1.03c patch is now live. The update consists of many tweaks, fixes and UI improvements which will no doubt make your Polaris Sector experience better than ever.
But it’s not all! We have a little treat for you. Considering how vast and complex the research system in Polaris Sector is, we thought it would be handy for all players to have some assistance. Polaris Sector has been released two days ago but the community is already active.
The first mod for Polaris Sector has seen the light! A useful pack of premade Satellite designs! To have them in game just extract the files to your Documents/My Games/Polaris Sector/DESIGNS folder.
These satellites are available for every race and are built with starting technology, each of them heavily armed with ion guns, missiles, and able to house storms of fighters!
It’s extremely easy to make your own ship designs and share them with other people. All your ships’ designs are saved into the Documents/My Games/Polaris Sector/DESIGNS folder, along with an info.txt file. The *.ds files can be easily exported and used by other people if shared.
The game overall is highly flexible and moddable, and it’s possible to edit almost all aspects of the game. A total overhaul by Nomada_Firefox is in the making, and if you are interested in learning more about modding the game, you can read this useful guide written by the same user.
