Scoring System in Police Stories

Hey! We are finally back! While I was busy with our another release, Roman brought to Police Stories some great features and here is one.

Look at this lovely Scoring System. It displays right and wrong actions in the real-time. It's crucial since players will need to finish each level (we call them "stories") with a certain sum of points to beat it.

Also as you can see in the GIF player can get injured. It doesn't only remove some points, but also slows the character and increases the bullets scatter. But it's still better than death, isn't it? :)

P. S.

Since the game is still on the early stage, some funny things happen sometime. "You're in my way, sir." from SWAT 4 looks like a good option here lol

Every Cop Needs a Shadow

Hi there!

Small but sweet progress update is here.

Basic arrest'n'shoot mechanic works fine and more than 15 levels have already been prototyped so we decided to put some team energy into visuals. What we've done lately: new shadows to add dimension, updated gameplay UI and shooting animation in which you can finally see each bullet coming from the weapon (still not polished, however).

In the GIF above you can also find out that we added metal doors. Sometimes they will be locked and the butt of your rifle is not a tool here anymore. You'll need a C4 for a rush or advanced lockpicks for the silent intervention. Explosive traps in random places and enemies with new type of guns coming next :)

Thanks for your questions and suggestions in Forums. Your feedback is the best support now! Cheers!

Safety pin is removed!

Hi!

Ivan is here.

Let me introduce myself first: I am the producer of Police Stories (previously Pixel Police) and also help with some game design and art tasks. I’ll bring you regular updates about the game while Roman (code and game design) and Artem (art) are busily working on the making it all happen.

Thanks to everyone who voted for the game through the Greenlight process. We have сome a long way, but it’s only the beginning of our Steam intervention :)

Back to Police Stories. The game is in Alpha stage at the moment. Basic mechanics have been implemented (and I REALLY love how it plays) and now the team is working on the content and other important features such as the scoring system.

Is the scoring system important?

Yes, because Police Stories is all about right and wrong actions. You’ll get points for neutralizing enemies and finding the evidence as well as being punished for killing a surrendering perp or for the injury of your mate Rick.

I need to go now! Please add Police Stories to wishlist and follow to stay tuned for all information during the development. A bunch of topics already lined up. And feel free to ask any questions!
